The next day went really funny and full of weird expressions. Which I enjoyed a lot. They were just so used to see my lame and nerdy appearance. I was enjoying the real self. I started going to regular dance workshop for spending some worthy time alone, instead of dying lonely at my dorm. I met some new people who accompanied me usually to the dance. One of them was Riya, we stay at the same hostel.
After a regular dance schedule, I was returning to the dorm with Riya. We both noticed Rony, in his usual sports wear heading towards us, she exclaimed,” I am leaving, see you again”. I don’t know what made her leave me, she never behave so weird. Something was burning between them, maybe. He arrived and replied with a grin on his face,” Hi, you dance as well”.
I answered sheepishly,” yup”. He asked timidly,” we are going for a movie, wanna join? it would be fun to have you with us”. I was about to answer and he cutted me in between and answered,” So you are coming, we will be outside your dorm at 6:00 pm okay!”,
I didn’t had anything else to do so I said yes and agreed. My subconcious was saying ‘beware’, but I thought how bad it could be. He smiled and asked me for joining their group for coffee, then my phone started vibrating in full force. I excused myself for a second, my eyes were shocked to see texts from Mr. Mystery.
MR. Mystery:
say him no!!
decline him, you are not going for a movie! especially with him.
I saw myself winning, so I ignored him and moved towards Rony, I gave him a lame excuse for not joining to their coffee. I assured him for the movie and started moving towards the dorm. I never knew that this would make him come online. Nice, mission on the go….
Later, when I reached to the dorm I saw Riya and her mate Mia talking suspiciously, i went close and said ,’HI’. To my surprise, Riya ignored me again moved inside the canteen area with a frown on her face. Mia was about to follow her, but I grasped her wrist and asked her what’s the reason for the change in her demeanor. She stared my face for few seconds, I could easily see,’ rebellion’ carved on her face.
She finally answered sarcastically,” you really don’t know?” . I answered immediately,” NO, NOT AT ALL”. She gave me a lopsided grin and said,” She wanted to ask him for prom night, but you came in between, Don’t you know what whole college is saying?”. I answered calmly trying to control my frustration,” Look, I don’t know what people are saying, but he is just a friend of mine, please assure her that her way is clear, I am not the one who is pestering him”. She smiled and hugged me suddenly, replied,” I knew it, you are trust worthy, you won’t do anything, I will convince her, thankyou so much”.
Now I understood, why she was being weird, things were crystal clear now. But it was necessary for me to find him, so I have to go. I took a quick shower and dressed myself up. I took a simple black top with a denim jacket and skinny black jeans. Suddenly, my phone buzzed. I picked it up carelessly and to my surprise he was again there.
Mr. Mystery:
Don’t you dare ignore me.
you are not going with him!
I laughed and kept it as it is. Few seconds later, my phone was vibrating , gosh! he was gone crazy! 20 missed calls. It took a great deal for me to not to pick up the call. My subconcious mind tied her hands behind the chair and sat with the tape on her mouth to avoid this call. So did I. After few seconds, I left the dorm went to see Rony and her pals waiting.
I said a quick,” hi”, they all replied in a unison,” hi, maya”.
Rony came with a smirk and guided me towards the car. To my surprise there were other girls from the class, who are always on the top notch and booked for proms. When I turned to sit inside the car, I saw Riya staring from her window.
She gave me a hard glare, but I could’nt help but smile and sit inside the car. To my surprise Jacob was already sitting inside the car, he gave a small smile and before anyone could see it, he was again staring towards the window. I sat between Rony and Jacob. I was clearly observing his behavior from the corner of my eyes. Roy and all the others kept asking me questions, like why do i study so much? am I single? why don’t I join their basket ball team.
Then suddenly Avi, who was driving the car said,” We are all sorry, Maya for our behavior, hope you can forgive us”.
I answered sheepishly,” it’s okay and forget about it, okay or I will also fill guilty”.
I saw Jacob’s hand fisting, his nerves were clearly evident, I guess he was controlling something. The whole car was full of voices, except Jacob, he was continuously staring everyone, with a paind smile. I was clearly observing him, he looked such a beauty. He was an epitome of male beauty. He was simply wearing a white shirt with black jeans. His hairs were slightly falling on his forehead, his eyes were dark black and the most long eye lashes , simply a bat of an eyelash can kill many! including me… he had a very chiseled jaw line, and his thick body frame was attractive. But still, he was silent.
When Rony observed Jacob, he asked,” Are you okay? Jay missing someone?”. He replied with a nod, declaring no. Then Rony suddenly prompted,” who hate Shashi?”. Every body raised their hands including me. They were shocked to see me raise a hand, Avi chuckled and asked,” don’t lie lady, we have seen the way you answer in his labs”. I immediately answered,” that does not mean that I like his lectures!”. They all were bursting out of laughters, I don’t know why? Rony had tears in his eyes and he said,” You have a good sense of humor” and ruffled my hairs slightly and winked at me. I smiled and engaged myself in conversation with him. After talking to him, I came to know we had many similarities, he was also a metal head, like me! he ruffled my hair again. This time I did the same, we both started giggling like idiots.
He was a comfortable company. Suddenly my phone buzzed, but didn’t bother to look at it. If it’s Rony, i am sure he is not the culprit. I could clearly see Jacob’s fisting getting harder. He was giving me goosebumps. I shifted slightly towards Rony and continued talking. I was not enjoying this tete-a tete. Rony said,” which dance style do you prefer?”. I said,” Tango and salsa”. He replied,” I would love to join you some day, will you be my partner then ?”. I answered without even thinking,” sure”. The journey went really smooth and soon we reached the theatre.
Luckily, I chose the corner sit, this time I would not make mistake of sitting between them. Soon the movie started me and Rony kept chuckling like idiots on his stupid humor. Soon, the interval came. I decided to use the restroom, the other two girls accompanied me. I went inside one of the cubicle, the other two were busy discussing their hickeys and applying make ups. The moment I entered cubicle, I checked my phone , it was him.
Mr. Mystery:
don’t let him touch you please!
please stop ignoring me!
please stop gawking at men!
I chuckled and wondered how did he know that I was salivating at someone. let him touch me! never, I guess he is jealous. The no of missed calls were increased to 70, Oh my God, he is really panicked. I chuckled and when I came out of the cubicle, the entire restroom was empty. I thought the interval ended. I moved towards the basin and washed my hands. When I turned, I saw some one in entirely black clothes and he had his head covered with a cap. He was locking the door.
I was freaked, I yelled,” who are you? this is for women, open the door”. He let out soft chuckle, which was very familiar. It was him, my heart beat raised and there were thousands of butterfly flying in my stomach. Suddenly, all the lights turned off. I was scared, i could sense someone moving around me. Only the sound of footstep and my raged breathing was audible. He came really close, his warm breathe was giving me tickles all over the body.
He whispered,” How are you my lady? Why are you ignoring me”. I felt him sniffing my hairs, I tried to move away, but he grabbed my hand and whirled me back towards him. He was holding me close and facing him.
He growled,” ANSWER Maya, I want you to answer”.
I answered in a low voice,” I am fine, what about you?”.
He said harshly,” how do you feel I am?”. I asked,” A-Are yu-you mad at me?”.
He chuckled and answered ,” Yes, my lady, why do you came here when I said not too, especially with him?” .
I giggled stupidly,” I wanted to see you, that’s why maybe”. He slightly chuckled out of agony and locked me against one of the walls. I was feeling his hard physique stopping me. My breathing was raged and I was beyond hot.
He suddenly asked ,” Do you like him?”.
I immediately retorted,” No, never”.
He suddenly grabbed my waist tighter and kissed me with an unknown greed, after few seconds we both parted breatheless. It was my turn to question now,
I asked him politely,” Are you a vampire?”. He laughed and kissed my forehead and answered,” No, why do you think so?”. I didn’t know why? but i was blushing.
I asked him the next question,” how do you know I was gawking? were you jealous?”.
He let out a soft moan and said,” yes, beyond jealous, I don’t like anyone touching you”.
I replied,” why you are hiding then? be with me then”.
He grunted and answered,” I-I– just don’t know”.
I let out a sigh and said, ” then let me go”.
I pushed him and started moving towards the door. He grabbed my hand and said,” believe me, I am waiting for the right time”.
I replied,” I know you are a hacker, okay, now let me go or they will be searching me”. He left my hand immediately and I moved outside and went inside the theatre. The moment I went close towards my seat, I saw Rony was replaced by Jacob. I sat quietly and rest of the movie went silent.
