Selina could only take comfort that it was dark in the car otherwise Manfred would notice that she was blushing.
“I… I’ll make dinner for you when we go back,” Selina said.
“I want to eat you!” Manfred teased her.
Selina pouted, “Pervert!”
Those who didn’t know Manfred would think that he was cold, arrogant, and decent but privately, he was a pervert and a scoundrel.
“Of course I’m a pervert!” Manfred laughed.
“Ignoring you!” Selina looked away as her face heated up as she opened the car window. The breeze cooled her face and she felt more comfortable.

At the Gordon residence.
Bonnie’s face was red and her face covered with tears as she entered the mansion.
Jayden Gordon and Evelyn Hall were stunned and asked, “Child, what happened?”
“Dad, mom!” Bonnie hugged them and cried bitterly, “It’s Manfred. He and a slut bullied me.”
‘s expression changed suddenly, “Manfred again. Since he came back he had been confronting the two of us. Now he even started to target the younger generation! This is unacceptable, you must tell big brother about this!”
Jayden’s mind started to spin and his sly old face revealed a sinister look and said, “You said that he was with a woman? What kind of woman?”
Bonnie became even more upset, “She’s a vixen! She seduced Manfred just because she is pretty.”
Jayden and Evelyn exchanged looks when they heard this as Evelyn gasped, “Isn’t it said that Manfred can’t…”
“Ahem!” Jayden coughed loudly and interrupted her. Evelyn quickly closed her mouth and hugged her daughter.
“How is that woman’s relationship with Manfred?”
Bonnie cried even harder when she heard, “I’ve never seen Manfred treating a woman so well! He even used his secret bodyguard against me!”
“Then… are they together?” Jayden asked.
“Of course! That woman even said that she seduced Manfred!”
Now Jayden and Evelyn’s expression changed. Evelyn heaved a sigh and patted Bonnie’s back.
“It’s okay. Manfred was wrong. Your father and I will seek justice for you. It’s late. Go and wash up and have a good rest.” Bonnie nodded and went upstairs.
After she left, Evelyn said, “Didn’t you say that Manfred can’t have relations with women? How come he has a woman with him?”
Jayden shook his head, “I’m not sure. But if this woman really can have relations with Manfred and if they were to have kids, then it would not be any good for us. Big brother doesn’t think highly of us otherwise why did he look for Manfred to come back to take over the business when Howard Gordon died.”
Evelyn was stunned, “But Manfred isn’t easy to deal with.”
Jayden’s expression darkened and said, “So what?”

When Selina went to the office the next day and heard the colleagues say, “It’s rumored that our company will be acquired soon!”
“How could that be? Wasn’t our company just been acquired?”
“Yeah, but I heard that the Far Eastern Group had already submitted the Letter of Intent!”
“Far Eastern Group? It is beneficial for us to become a part of the Far Eastern Group!”
Suddenly those people kept quiet and when Selina turned around, she saw Darnell walking over with a troubled expression. He changed his expression when he noticed that Selina was looking at him and said, “Looks like everyone is not interested in working? Aren’t you all interested in such a large project?”
Darnell had always been pleasant to everyone and when they saw that he wasn’t angry, someone boldly asked, “Mr. Cornell, did our company really receive an acquisition Letter of Intent by Far Eastern Group?”
“No!” Darnell shook his head.
On hearing this, everyone reacted differently. Some were happy while others were disappointed. Only Selina saw Darnell frowning when he turned around and she rushed over to him.
Along the corridor, she hesitated before asking, “Mr. Cornell, were you telling the truth?”
Darnell was stunned as he laughed bitterly, “Since you’ve noticed, there is nothing for me to hide. We indeed received a notice from the Far Eastern Group but I will not agree to it. Just do your work well.”
Selina nodded and went back to her work. But when she saw Darnell’s expression, she became gripped with guilt. Manfred’s sudden desire to acquire the Long Peace group must be because of her.
But didn’t he already agree? Why was he doing these things? Or did she think too much into it?
These kinds of mergers and acquisitions were beyond her. Manfred was a seasoned businessman and wouldn’t do something silly because of her. The only thing that she could do was to do her job well. She tried to shake this off her mind and she refocused on her computer monitor.
At the General Manager’s office at the Far Eastern Group…
Jayden’s assistant came into the office, “Mr. Gordon, the CEO had issued a notice that we are having a meeting on an acquisition at three o’clock.”
“What?” Jayden was stunned, “Which company are we acquiring?”
“The Long Peace Group!” The assistant said, “Furthermore, I heard that the CEO already instructed Osborne to submit a Letter of Intent to the Cornell Group.
Jayden was trying to catch his breath and remarked angrily, “Then what’s the meeting for? This Manfred is getting more and more outrageous. No, I’ll have to inform brother!”
When he wanted to make the call, the assistant said, “The Director already knows about this.”
“What?” Jayden was even more furious, “Brother has become more muddleheaded. To think that he allowed this brat to be so out of control.”
He sat back into the chair and Jayden thought about what happened the night before and said, “Go and check where Manfred lives recently.”
The assistant left and came back soon after and said, “He’s staying at the Bishuiwan Community.”
“Bishuiwan Community?” Jayden narrowed his eyes and ordered, “Send someone to monitor that place.”

When Selina went home after work, there was a car that blocked her path into the Bishuiwan Community. Selina was quick to avoid a collision with the car.
A man in black attire knocked on Selina’s car door and asked, “Are you Ms. Jones? My master would like to see you.”
Selina frowned, “I don’t know your master.”
“You’ll know him when you go!” The man opened the car door and invited Selina out.
The car sped along the way to the Gordon Residence. Selina had been to that place and she recognized it immediately. Could it be that the Gordon family had found out about her? Then suddenly Selina became more unsettled. She wondered how would the Gordon family deal with her or perhaps this was her chance to leave Manfred.
But… It wasn’t a year yet.
Selina was shocked when she thought about this.
