Apologize?
This must be the funniest joke she had heard this year.
“Horace, are you crazy? From what he had done to me, you still want me to apologize?”
When faced with her accusation, Horace looked composed as usual, “Or else, what do you think you want? Manfred’s case was ruined by you, and are you planning to ruin this one too? It took me a lot of effort to arrange this case for you!”
Arrange?
Selina gaped at Horace in shock. She suddenly remembered that this client didn’t send any proper representative to initiate a business deal. Her assistant had told her that it was an existing client from long ago.
Why was such a too-good-to-be-true case fall into her hand?
Something struck her, and Selina gritted her teeth while glaring at Horace, “So you are always in the know? Are you the one who has arranged for everything to happen this time? You deliberately set me up with Franklin on the basis that you have known his character well. You are just using me in exchange for securing another business deal!”
Horace knew that he had been busted, so he decided not to take the roundabout way.
“That’s right. So what if that’s the case? I originally wanted to send you to meet a decent client, but alas, you don’t want to deal with Manfred and I don’t have another way. Franklin is far better, yet you also ruined it this time too.”
Selina was shaking with immense anger and she flung her palms across Horace’s cheeks while shouting, “Horace, you barbarian!”
When she wanted to land another slap, Horace grabbed her wrist in mid-air while gritting his teeth, “Selina, don’t be too shameless! You are no longer someone Manfred has his eyes on. Do you think I will be spooked by you? Let me ask you again, are you going to apologize or not?”
“I won’t!” Selina flung away Horace’s hand agitatedly, and she turned around wanting to leave.
When her hand reached the door knob, the door swung inwards.
Sharon appeared at the door in her usual flamboyant outlook. From her looks, she must have been standing there for quite some time. When she saw Selina, she froze for a fraction of a second before smiling, “Selina, are you having a fight with brother-in-law now?”
“Get lost!” Selina didn’t have time to entertain her.
Sharon wasn’t faze at all as she tried to prevent Selina from leaving, “Selina, you should talk things through calmly. Why do you always have to be like this? Horace is really nice, yet you always somehow want to make him mad.”
After saying that, she shifted her gaze to Horace. Her eyes were shining with something, and she was sending out some signals with them.
“Horace, what are you standing there for? Selina is going to dart off. Don’t you want to make her stay?”
Horace then came back to his senses and he dragged Selina back into the office. Sharon helped to close the door at the same time.
Selina cast a cold look at Sharon, “Do you fully comprehend what you are doing now? I know what you are thinking deep down, but won’t you afraid that similar scary things would someday befall you too?”
Sharon continued her pretence, “Selina, what are you talking about? I don’t get you. Aren’t you the one who has offended a client? It’s only natural that you make up for your mistake by apologizing! If you are making a fuss like this, what would the other employees think of?”
Selina snorted coldly, “Then you should go. If you think it’s only natural to apologize, why don’t you go in my stead?”
Their scuffle had attracted the other employees’ attention. Horace could see that Selina had made up her mind, and without warning, he picked up a vase from a rack nearby and smashed it on Selina’s head.
With a loud smashing sound, Selina was caught off guard. She immediately fainted due to the impact.
Sharon was shocked by his actions and she buried herself deep into Horace’s embrace, “Horace…”
Sharon was wearing a figure-hugging long dress, and her generous volume of flesh in front of her directly came in contact with Horace’s body. Horace was befuddled for a moment, and he took a good look at Sharon. Sharon was looking very shy, so he decided to go in with his advancement.
He teased her, “Your sister is way too stubborn, unlike you who is gentle like water.”
“Horace…” Sharon muttered shyly, and the two of them squeezed together even tighter.
