In the YES Club, Selina pushed open a door to a suite while rubbing her temples which were throbbing.
She couldn’t anticipate how long she was going to entertain this client tonight.
Ever since she had made a deal with Horace, it had been a month since Selina started working officially.
Horace had inserted Selina into the sales department and at first glance, she had it good because she was made the manager of the department. In actuality, she needed to throw herself out there almost every night.
She was responsible to follow up with every appointment and more often than not she had to entertain her clients although it was already late into the night.
However, for Selina who aimed to escape Horace’s grasp one and for all, this was nothing. She had to close as many deals as she could so that she could leave the Keith family as soon as possible.
After sprinkling her face with some water, she instantly felt refreshed. Selina then walked out of the washroom.
Upon reaching the entrance of the suite, she saw a woman with heavy make-up who was clinging to a man as if she had no skeleton in her body and that man was coming her way. He was none other than Horace.
Selina was already numb whenever she faced such a sight. Ever since she started working in the field, she discovered that all those past incidences of Horace fooling around out there were just a small part of the actual truth. It could be said that no one knew how long he had been fooling around with women out there.
Just as she was about to make her way into the suite, that woman suddenly snapped and pounced onto Selina without warning.
Fortunately, Selina was quick-footed, so she was able to take a step back and dodge her attack.
That woman didn’t have it easy on the other hand. She was wearing a pair of ten-centimetre long high-heels with a super short mini-skirt, and when she stumbled to the floor, Horace didn’t even intend to help her up.
When she got up by herself, she vented all her frustrations and embarrassment on Selina.
“Do you have eyes? I can’t believe you just bumped into me! Horace, see, my legs are bruised now.”
Selina almost chuckled because of amusement, “Miss, are you for real? You were the one who almost bumped into me.”
The woman still wanted to argue, but the door of the suite suddenly flung open. Selina’s assistant emerged from it and when she saw Horace standing there, she greeted him politely, “Mr. Keith, are you here to see the young lady?”
That woman was startled for one second and her gaze was going back and forth in between Horace and Selina.
People like them knew how to read between the lines the most. Seeing that Horace wasn’t the least bit concerned with Selina at all, she was able to regain her courage.
“Oh, so it turns out that you are that old hag who Horace has always brought up in front of me? You should tend to the clients for Horace instead of loitering around here, no?”
Selina’s assistant frowned, “Miss, what nonsense are you spouting now?”
Selina gestured to interrupt her assistant, “You can go in first. Leave this to me.”
When her assistant was gone, Selina stared at this smug woman coldly, “I never know that being an insignificant mistress would make you so arrogant? What is wrong with this world?”
“You…” That woman gnashed her teeth, “Even if I am unknown, I am still better than you who can’t even be considered a mistress. At least Horace loves me, but what about you? You still need to work your ass off and earn money for Horace and me by accompanying the clients. Your life must be hell.”
With a loud slapping sound, Selina slapped that woman across her cheeks.
“This slap is my token to you so that you won’t speak nonsense anymore if you don’t know how to hold a conversation. You keep saying that I am earning money for you guys, do you mean that Horace is someone who needs to rely on women to earn money to feed his family like those gigolos out there?”
When she said that, Horace’s expression immediately became hideous.
That woman was shocked by Selina’s claim, and she hastily consoled Horace, “Horace, she is twisting the meaning of my words. I don’t mean that at all.”
“I understand, but she is right though. You don’t know when to watch your mouth, so it’s best if you apologize!”
