Staring at the tightly closed door, Selina took a deep breath and twisted the door knob. The first thing that came into her eyes was a large, modest and luxurious office desk. A man was sitting behind it, leaning against the office chair and facing against her. “Mr. Gordon!” Selina spoke after standing still. “So you’ve come?” Manfred’s voice was composed and emotionless. Yet that had made Selina even more nervous.
“Relax, have a seat,” Manfred said and turned around. Selina finally saw his chiseled facial features. His astute look seemed to be able to read one’s mind. “No, thanks!” Selina took out the planning proposal and put it on the table. “This is the HT Group’s planning proposal, please have a look.”
“There’s no need to rush!” Manfred walked around the table towards her without even glancing at the proposal. He had a lofty figure and had possessed an extremely strong oppressive aura. Every step taken by him posed immense threat towards Selina. She could not help but take a step back. “From your look, you’ve not slept well last night?”
“Huh?” Selina did not understand his purpose of having said that at such a moment. “Horace Keith didn’t treat you well, did he?”
“Mr. Gordon, what on earth are you trying to say? Does it concern you, or the proposal today whether he treats me well or not?”
“Of course it does!” Selina did not expect him to actually say that shamelessly, “If it’s not because of you, the HT Group won’t even have the chance to submit a planning proposal.” Selina had been forced towards the wall when he said the last word and she had no way to escape. She was pressed against the wall by him once more and her unique fragrance filled his nose. It was that fragrance that made him unable to control himself.
Having sensed Manfred’s unconcealed desire, Selina quickly pushed his chest. “Mr. Gordon, I’ve told you last night, it’s already done between us. If you dare hurt me again, I won’t be courteous!” Manfred chuckled when he heard that. “You’re scared of me?”
“Everyone would feel scared of someone who is having bad intention towards them.” Manfred released her when he heard that. He sat back onto the couch once again and looked at the woman before him. “Why do you still come when you understand that?”
“I’m here for the case!” As she said, she took the proposal back and pushed it towards him. Manfred still did not look at it and he said, “Did I not make it clear? The project could be done better in other company’s hand. Why should I choose HT? Give me a reason.”
“We…” Selina gritted her teeth. “What should we do so you’ll look at the proposal?”
“Be my woman!” Manfred said blatantly. “No way!” Selina stood to her feet. “I’m already married, I’m Horace’s wife.”
“Oh!” Manfred was not surprised at all. “So what? Didn’t you still take the initiative to see me during late night? We’re all adults and we take what we need. I suppose you know about that…” Take what we need? Selina’s face turned pale and she retorted, “What kind of person do you think I am?” Manfred raised his eyebrow. “For a married woman who looks for other man during midnight, what kind of person would I think of you?”
“You’re shameless!” Selina’s face flushed. “What happened that night was just an accident! Mr. Gordon, if you don’t want to talk about the proposal, I think there’s nothing more to say between us.”
“Okay!” Manfred crossed his legs and looked at the woman who was flustered and exasperated listlessly. “You won’t live a good life with the Keith family if you reject me today.”
“It’s none of your business!” After finished, she jerked the door open and left.
