Selina was feeling extremely uncomfortable and she was really reluctant to stay any longer. She then subconsciously grunted. “I suppose there’s not much influence to your business whether I’m here or not?”
“Stay when I ask you to do so! I don’t accept any reasoning!” Feeling raged, Horace raised his hand, wanting to land a slap on Selina’s face. Yet his hand was clasped by a big hand the next second. Horace was still in anger and he spoke rudely, “Which bastard dares grab my hand?”
“How dare you say such foul words? Is the Gordon house a place that allows such offenses?” Osborn Norman, Manfred’s assistant chastised. Horace only then realized the person who grabbed his hand was actually Manfred Gordon, who was famous in the business world of Russell City. He immediately changed his expression and put up a flattering look. “Oh, so it’s Mr. Gordon. I’ve been foolish enough not to recognize you straight away.”
Manfred glimpsed at the woman beside Horace blandly and said coldly, “Hitting women is not a good practice! The Keith family is also a wealthy and dignified family. I suppose you still know about this?”
“Yes, Mr. Gordon, you’re right. I’ve been irrational due to rage. Our family has used to have strict discipline. I wonder whether Mr. Gordon has time so we could find a chance to have a chat?” Although the HT Group was flourishing currently, it was still nothing compared to the Far Eastern Group of the Gordon family. Horace certainly wanted to try everything he could to play up to Manfred.
“No, thanks,” Manfred replied and seemed to be uninterested. He looked at Selina and pretended to ask unintentionally, “This is…?” Horace initially thought he would have zero chance to play up to him, hearing him asking, he immediately grabbed Selina’s hand and pulled her a little to the front. “This is my wife, Selina Jones.” See, he knew that woman was still useful.
Wife? Manfred frowned, and there was a cold light in his eyes when he looked at Selina once again. Selina at the moment did not want to deal with Manfred at all. No matter how strong her heart was, it was impossible for her to face a man who had just abused her. “Have you done introducing? I’m gonna leave now.” Horace warned her softly, “What are you trying to play now? Don’t forget what I told you when we came here.”
Despondence rose inside her and she replied, “Do you have any idea what you look like now? You look like a procurer who’s trying to use your wife to settle a business!” Horace was so mad that he gritted his teeth. “Selina Jones, don’t you reach out for a yard after taking an inch!” His voice was not loud, but any sensible person could tell they were in a fight.
Manfred who was at the side slowly pulled down his face. As Osborn who was standing beside him thought something had happened and pondered, he heard Manfred spoke, “The Far Eastern had a case last month, and the HT Group seemed to have taken part in the bidding too?” Horace was delighted and he replied, “Exactly, I didn’t expect Mr. Gordon knew such a trivial thing too.” Osborn secretly grunted. Oh come on, there was no need to be surprised, their boss was a typical workaholic, and he remembered every single detail.
“Take the bidding paper and come to my office tomorrow, we’ll have a talk!” Horace nearly could not react. Happiness had paid him an abrupt visit. However, he was still an experienced person and he quickly adjusted his emotion. “Sure thing, President Gordon. I’ll go there myself tomorrow morning.”
“No!” Manfred tossed the woman who was lowering her head behind him a deep look and said, “Ask her to come!” Having heard that, Selina was startled and she quickly looked up. Upon meeting the man’s deep eyes, her heart leapt and she hurriedly looked away. “I’m not the company’s worker!”
“Then so be it!” Manfred suddenly became uninterested. He sounded he did not care about the case at all. The HT Group was not the best choice in the first place after all. “It’s okay!” Horace said. “Don’t worry, president, we’ll come here tomorrow!”
Because they needed to quickly prepare the planning proposal, Horace left with Selina too after Manfred left. After getting out of the Gordon Mansion, Selina then pushed Horace away and said, “Horace Keith, what did you mean? How could you make that kind of decision?” Horace sneered and suddenly pulled down his face. “I haven’t even asked you yet! Why did Manfred Gordon ask you to go? What is your relationship?”
