“Nicholas….” I scarily muttered and that’s when it dawned on me that the blood was coming out of his body and not mine. I surprisingly gaped at him, he saved me from the stray bullet. He saved my life and that of our baby from Nangi’s gunshot.
Smiling tenderly at me, this is the first time that I am seeing a genuine smile on Nicholas ‘ lips. My heart melted as I watched him smile.
“I am sorry….” With a heavy breath, he mumbled.
“Please forgive me…..” He pleaded.
“I have long forgiven you, Nicholas….” Tears trail down my cheeks as I mutter.
“I have always loved and cared for you, I have always wanted and craved you but…….”
Trailing his hands down my cheeks, he smiled and continued “I never wanted a mate but the first time that I set my eyes on you, I felt full like I felt a new me. But I couldn’t continue with that as I felt that you deserve someone better, I have done nothing in this world to deserve a person like you…….
” I thought clubbing and fucking around will ease the pain from me and makes me forget you but the more I tried the harder it becomes for me……” I let out a sob, as he kept saying.
“You break through the wall that I have built for a long time without any struggle….. I thought that I could let you go but I found out that you were also mated to my brother. I felt hurt and possessive over you….”
“He is kind, jovial, and easy to get along with,” he hurtfully muttered.
“He is a lover boy and I know that you will find him appealing in no time and that’s why I have to use violence to get you beside me,” he sadly smiled. Tapping my cheeks, his eyes glanced around my belly.
“His child……?” He sadly questioned.
“No!…..” I cried out
“Then whose own?” He confusingly asked.
Wiggling my head, as the tears kept trailing down heavily on my cheeks “It is yours, it is your child……. Your son,” I quietly muttered.
“Really…..!!!” A genuine smile curled up his face, as he exclaimed in utter disbelief, I smiled back at him before his face turned sad and sore.
“That means I will always be with you,” he mumbled.
“Hey, what are you talking about?”
“Cone on, Nicholas please what are you saying?” I panicked as I noticed him losing his life.
“Lucien!!…. please someone should help me
” Derrick….!!!” I confusingly called, when trying to know if I could bring him back to life.
“I love you, Mira and I promise you that I will always be with you and even in the next world I want you to be my Luna and mate……. But that time I will treat you like the queen that you truly are, I love you and will always do,”
“But my brother loves you more, he will care for you more than I could do and I want you two to live happily like I never existed….. All these were my fault and if dying to show you that I am truly sorry and that you deserve better, then I am more than ready for that,”
“I love you, Mira baby….” Kissing my hand with his own on my belly, he closed his eyes and died.
“Ahhh!!!!” I screamed in pain as I noticed my sister Khloe embracing me in a tight hug and that’s when I heard the angry voice of Derrick as he angrily pulled Nengi’s head away. He dangerously growled in pain as he yanked her neck away from her body before rushing to where I was lying. Reaching to my side, I glanced at him as he thought I was the one hurt till Lucien motioned for him towards Nicholas who was lying there covered in a pool of blood. His eyes widened in shock as he stared at his brother, moving closer to him.
He let out a thunderous growl, he dangerously growled in pain as tears kept flowing down his cheeks. He looked devastated and weak as if half of him had been taken away from him.
Returning home the whole drive was quiet as no one dared to speak, everyone was in pain. I was leaning on Khloe’s shoulder as one of the warriors drove us back to the pack. Entering the pack, as we arrived down I noticed the faces of everyone. They look sad and hurt, it looks like the news circulated everywhere before our return.
“You back….” I heard the voice that I have longed for, the voice of one woman that has shown me a reason to be strong and love myself.
“Luna….” I bowed submissively.
“Oh! Stop the formality and address me well….” She smiled.
“Virginia, I am so sorry,” I cried out as she clamped me in a mothering hug, I sobbed as I noticed a tear trail down from her eyes down to her cheeks.
“I am sorry for all these things,” I pleaded.
“It is not your fault…” she muttered.
“But at least I should have accepted his rejection when he first asked me that…..” I sobbed.
“Even if you accept the rejection it won’t make sense because you two were married together and I want to let you know that everything that happened has a reason and it wasn’t your fault like you claimed and I am happy that you were mated to my sons…..” Breaking free from the hug, she wipes away frotears with a small smile.
“I love you, Mira and you are nothing but a blessing to my household….” She confessed.
“Thanks….” A sob escaped my throat as I embraced her in a hug.
“Don’t I also deserve a hug…?” With a silly face, Derrick questioned.
“Why not…..” Trying to hug him, he flipped me around and sealed our lips together.
“I am happy that you are having his baby, that shows that he is still here with us….” Derrick said as he showered my face with hot kisses.
“Hey, how do you know….” Hitting his chest playfully I asked.
“I overheard your discussion with your sisters, baby,” he huskily muttered.
“Hmmm….” I quietly moaned as he bit my ears.
“Oh! Come on, you guys should get a room,” Virginia naughtily uttered.
“I think so…. though I can’t wait,”
“Heaven!!” I surprisingly exclaimed within as my face brightened in happiness.
“Yes, Mira, I am always here with you…..” She replied.
Smiling tenderly to Derrick as he guided us inside but not after stealing a kiss from me, the whole place was lively and calm just like I have ever wanted. To live with zero worries in life though some lives were lost in the process which weighed me down but with the baby on the way that shows that I didn’t lose Nicholas he was still here with me and the same applies to Derrick. I can’t wait for us to start a new life together.
