Mira’s pov:
“Are you going somewhere?” Snubbing my questions, she asked me.
“I asked you a damn question, Jessy…..!” I snapped at her, flinching back and she completed herself quickly.
Clearing her throat she nervously muttered, “I am here to check on you……”
“Check on me like how? Why?” With a raised brow I asked.
“You haven’t left your room for days now,” she says.
“Whatever…..” I clasped, “Now that you haven’t seen that I am fine then you know what…..!” I asked.
“Nope….” She answered back as her eyes were fixed on my bag and this annoys the shit out of me.
“Get out….” I muttered.
“Excuse me,” raising her eyes she mumbled.
“I SAID GET LOST!” I harshly glared at her.
“Okay….” She shortly replied before speeding out of the room. Closing the door, with my back leaning in the door I released a sign of relief.
“That was close….” I murmured.
“We have to be fast….” Heaven urged me to pack the remaining stuff very fast. Rushing into the bathroom I picked up my toiletries and shoved them inside the backpack. Once I was done I kept the bag under my wardrobe where someone would not get a glimpse of it before exiting my room to take a walk around, especially around Nengi’s room. Today I planned on lingering in her room for easy access once she leaves the room, but I need to be sneaky to avoid them noticing me.
It was around 8 pm. Hiding behind a pillar I noticed Nengi left her room to God knows where. Speeding towards my room to get my back I bump into Jessy. I took a glimpse at her before running toward my room but she stopped me.
“Please, Miss…..” I ignored her calls but she didn’t stop.
“Miss, Mira please can you hear me out,” she called.
“What is it?” I impatiently snapped at her.
“Please, Alpha Den, want to be served coffee,” she muttered.
“Yes, and how is it my business? Just go and serve him,” I annoyingly voiced out before turning to leave but she stopped me.
“He requested that you bring his coffee to his room,” with heads down, she mumbled.
“Me, why? It is the work of the omegas not me so go serve it,” I muttered, I am losing my patience and cool here. I need to be damn fast before Nengi comes back but this girl wasn’t having any of them.
“Alpha Den said that he needed you to serve his coffee for him….” I rolled my eyes at her.
“It is an order, Miss,” she muttered.
“Puff…..” I released the breath that I had held before following her to Alpha Den’s chamber. I need to serve him this coffee and return quickly and leave this damn place.
She followed hiding and long spots, suspiciously narrowed my eyes at every movement.
“Why are you following this spot knowing fully well that there is long before one reaches Alpha Den’s room,” I confusingly muttered when being sure that I stay vigilant in case of anything. I looked back and forth and noticed that we were the only ones walking in that passage.
“Well, I am doing you a good thing,” shrugging her shoulders she reluctantly muttered.
“Do me a favor? How?” Stopping in my track I glared at her.
“Well let us say that Sir Nicholas and Sir Derrick were there and I know that you won’t be happy for them to see you…..” She nonchalantly muttered. Her words hit me differently, I staggered back as her words pang deeper into my heart. I wasn’t expecting that from her.
“What’s the meaning of that?” I severely snapped.
“What are you talking about, Miss?” Turning around she innocently stared at me.
“Why the tone? Look from now on you better behave yourself and mind your language to avoid attracting problems your way!” I angrily growled, she crawled and shrink back in fear. Lifting my head I noticed that we were in front of Alpha Den’s room.
“Give me the coffee,” I took the coffee from her, “Get out…..” Collecting the coffee I spit with anger.
“Come in…..” After several knocks at the door, I was allowed inside by Alpha Den.
Pushing the door inside, I walked in, “Good evening, Alpha,” bowing. I greeted him submissively.
“Good evening, Mira!” He seemed surprised
“Why are you here? You were supposed to be in your room,” he confusingly muttered.
“Yes, I was supposed to be in my room but I was informed by one of the omegas that you instructed that I should serve you a coffee,” I proclaimed.
“Coffee! Like how….” He blurted, “I never instructed for a coffee or ordered anyone to call you,” he says.
“Hmm…… since I am here already, this is your coffee,” placing the coffee on the table I muttered. “And if you don’t mind I have to leave now,”
“Wait!….” Turning around to leave, he called me. My heart throbs as I pray that this man shouldn’t beg me to stay here with him.
“Yes….” I mumbled.
“Can’t you wait for me to finish the coffee,”
“Sir, I need to……..
” Please, just for today,” he pleads, this is the first time that I have seen this soft spot in him. He was always a tough one for someone to describe as soft. I so much wanted to decline his offer as I needed to be somewhere. I needed to leave this pack tonight but staring at his eyes held me in place.
“Hmm…. n….. y…. es,” wanting to say no I ended up saying the opposite.
“Thanks…” he delightfully muttered as he showed me to a sofa there to relax my butt. I sat down and watched him sip his coffee, the atmosphere was calm and friendly but my heart and mind were in chaos like they wailed to be somewhere else.  I was supposed to be far away from this pack by this time but here I found myself sitting with Alpha Den. What a life!
“So tell Mira, how have you been?” Sipping his drink, he muttered.
“Hmm….. I have been good,” I replied with a phony smile.
“That’s good,” nodding he mumbled, “I understand that you are not happy but you don’t have to say it,”
“No! Alpha I am good,” I countered.
Shrugging his shoulders “If you so then……
“You know that my sons are good though a little stubborn,” after some minutes he voiced. I gave him a small smile as I indirectly rolled my eyes at him. His sons also make me want to lose my baby and life, I am losing my sanity. That was all thanks to them!
“I knew your father before they gave birth,” I wasn’t surprised at his words, who doesn’t know my father as a fearless, strong, and great Alpha till the mystery that occurred in his pack of them being the weakest? The reason is still unknown now.
“Your father is a great Alpha, he has the largest pack…… we were friends but casual…..”
“After my pack, his pack is third in the strongest pack in the American but….” He paused as he wiggled his head in a hurtful way, my ears perked up to get the full information. It seems like he knows the reason behind the sudden downfall of our pack. I focused on my attention forgetting my escape tonight.
“His pack was attacked by the strongest pack in America……, they defeated his pack and took over his pack. It wasn’t a pleasant sight,”
“They turned his people to slaves and other things, but he escaped with his wife and some few ones…… his remaining pack members there called him all sort of names for abandoning them. His name was dragged to the mud for not showing his greatness in saving his people,” he muttered.
“But things turned wild when the same Alpha came to challenge him for his wife then he has two daughters which are your two sisters…..” I scarily stared at him as I don’t know that someone will be crazy enough to take another person’s mate after taking everything from him.
“Then what happened….?” I attentively questioned with all my eyes fixed on him.
“He came running for me to help him out and conquer the black heart pack,” as the pack’s name slipped out of his mouth, it sent chills down my body. I have read about that pack in a book, the book was hiding in my father’s study, and me being a bookworm I sneak into his study and read it but I didn’t know that the once scary black heart pack in the book was real. I didn’t know that it was in reality that it was our pack that they were talking about in the book, this is the book that I read when I was a kid. The journey of the moonlight pack which is now our pack, the crystal mountain pack, went through a tough time with the black heart pack and that’s where the bright moon pack emerged when they assisted my father’s pack to save his pack though everything was destroyed and they still won.
