qMira’s pov:
I won’t allow Nengi’s words to get to me, I am sure it is one of her weightless threats. Proceeding toward the pack hospital, I entered the reception.
“Hello, Luna, you are welcome,” I turned around to ensure that I wasn’t the one she was addressing as Luna since I couldn’t see Virginia.
“Am I the one you are addressing as the…. as the….. Luna,” with a frown I asked her.
“Yes, dear…” she replied.
“But I am not Luna yet….” I muttered.
“Oh! Spare me that, dear, in the next full moon you will be crowned the Luna of this pack. So what’s wrong if I start now to address you as one beside you are my Luna…..” She muttered.
“Thanks….” I mumbled to her.
“I am here to see doctor Maramark,” I voiced.
“Oh! You are welcome but before that, I would like to introduce myself…..” She smiled, “My name is nurse Lucy, I work here….” She said as she brought out her hands.
“Nice meeting you,” shaking her hands, I muttered.
“So you stay here let me inform doctor Maramark,” she motioned to the sofa around the reception.
“Okay…..” I moved to the sofa, and sitting down I noticed how people slid in and out of the hospital. Mothers holding their children as they tenderly look at them is a pleasant sight to behold, it reminds me of my childhood. My best memory so far in life is the time I have zero worries.
“My Luna…….” I was snapped back to reality by Lucy’s loud voice, her voice drew a lot of attention to me as people bowed submissively and left while others genuinely smiled at me but not all. I gave her a ” what the hell was that supposed to mean” kind of look. She smiled it off and informed me that the doctor would like to see me now. Gradually standing up I proceeded to the doctor’s office as I knocked on his door.
“Come in…..” He promptly mumbled.
Slightly pushing the door open, I entered inside “Good day….” I greeted.
“Oh! My Luna please pardon me I didn’t know it was you,” he suddenly cast his head down as he apologized. “Is okay, now we should sit….?” I gave him a small smile.
“Yes, we should but before that you are welcome….” We both let out a small laugh before he went back to his chair.
“I hope you are fine,” he asked with concern.
“If I am fine, of course, I shouldn’t be here,” I jokingly roll my eyes. He nodded with a small smile.
“So what brought you to the hospital, dear,” he asked. He seemed friendly and jovial for a doctor which I admire, he has great quality.
“I am recently feeling weak, having headaches, and early morning sickness every goddamn time….” I explained.
“You said every morning…?” He asked as he jolted down some things in his paper.
“Yes but not only in the morning….” I mumbled.
“Permit me if I asked you a few questions….” He uttered.
“You are allowed after all I am here for a solution,” we laughed shortly again before he began.
“Do you feel pain….?” He questioned.
“Yes, especially around my waist, ” I answered back.
“Interesting…..” Nodding he muttered.
“What else do you feel again?” He asked.
“I feel like throwing up anytime I taste some foods, especially chips and burgers which used to be my favorite but now I couldn’t eat them to avoid throwing up,” I childishly pout causing Maramark to laugh.
“Don’t worry I am sure it is soon going to stop, huh…” he calmly mumbled.
“Do you have any idea what it could be, even if it is just a hint… ” I desperately asked.
“It sounds familiar but we need to carry on some tests to be sure so that we shouldn’t end up giving the wrong idea,” he announced.
“Come on just a hint….” I whined.
“Sorry, Luna, but I can’t because it’s against the rules of the hospital. I have to be sure before I pass any information to you,” he says.
“Well, it’s fine, okay…..” I murmured.
“I will mind link a nurse to come and run you a test…… I want to ask if it’s okay with you?” He professed.
“Yeah, I am good with that…..” I shortly replied. It wasn’t long before the door was pulled open revealing the previous nurse at the reception Lucy.
“She will lead you to the laboratory for the test,” he uttered tenderly.
“Okay, nice meeting you,” I mumbled.
“Same here…….” Standing up we shook hands before Lucy led me to the door.
After running the test which didn’t take long, I asked with curiosity “When is the result going to be out……”
“Hmm, let’s say in two days,” she replied.
“Why so long!” I surprisingly mumbled.
“We have a lot at our neck now and with you being Luna we don’t want to rush your test…..” She explained.
“I don’t understand what you are talking about?” I muttered confused.
“We want to gradually and carefully look into your test, dear….. Please understand that we don’t want to make any mistake,” she calmly pleaded.
“Look, I am not okay with my health because it is worrying me……
“And trust me we are going to do our best to ensure a better result,” she smiley muttered.
“Look I want the result tomorrow by this time, don’t fail me……please,” I seriously uttered before turning to the exit.
I moved towards room four where Angel was being kept, her nose was covered with oxygen. I stared at how innocent and gentle her face was, she looked beautiful even though she had a small scratch around her cheeks.
“I know this is Nengi’s doing…” I furiously curse under my breath.
“I wish you are going to wake up soon, Angel,”
“Here, it is boring without you, I have no one to talk or laugh with…….
“I am so sorry for not confiding in you…. It is just that I was confused there but now the truth has been unveiled……..
” You once warned me but I neglected your words now the siblings are at war with each other,” I cried out as those words kept slipping from my lips. Wiping my tears I stood up and kissed her cheeks before attempting to leave.
The door was instantly pulled open causing my attention to be fixed on the direction, I was stunned as Susan entered the ward.
“What are you doing here?” I asked with a serious expression. My voice took her by surprise as she wasn’t expecting to see me here.
“Good day, Luna….” She submissively greeted me.
“And what is good about today?” I coldly muttered.
“Why are you here?” I asked, ignoring her frightened state.
“I…. I……came to……visi……visit……An…gel…..” She stammered.
“Have Nengi sent you?” I narrowed my eyes at her.
“No, Luna, I can on my own free will,” she nervously muttered.
“The last time I checked you and Angel never got along when she was conscious, so tell me why all of a sudden you came to visit her…?” I muttered.
“Luna…. I….. have…. no evil….. into…on,” she nervously uttered.
“I never said that you have an ulterior motive though I shouldn’t conclude yet…..”
“But the very day she was conscious before then she was with you, so tell me why I will allow you to come to visit her?” I glared at her.
“Luna, please, I feel bad for my behavior towards her and how cold I was to her…. She doesn’t deserve any of my cold attitudes,” I mumbled.
“Good acting…..” I compliment, “But you know what, I don’t want to see her in this room or around this hospital,” my eyes turned cold as I glanced at her.
“Please……” she pleaded.
“I will inform the hospital authority not to let in again the same applies to the hospital guards….”
“Your presence isn’t needed here, especially around Angel, SO NOW GET OUT!” I exclaimed.
“Please, Luna, I…… she turned quickly with the words stuck in her mouth and left instantly as I deadly glares at her. I know that Nengi might have sent her again, pathetic fools. After a short while, I also left the hospital premises.
I feel tired and stressed already, gosh I know that I am rusty from not training for long now. I have forgotten some tricks which are worrying me and my health issues are not helping at all. I felt the hairs in my body stood up as electric sparkles flowed down my body.
“What’s happening…..?” I didn’t get to finish as I felt someone roughly yank me back.
“Who the…….. The words got sank into my throat immediately after I saw the cold face staring deadly and disgustingly at me.
” Ni……Nico….. I trembled.
“Yes, nice to meet you again,” he coldly mumbled.
“You have to be strong, Mira…..” I kept chanting the words in my head before I composed myself and stood in a place.
“Just in time, I was actually on my way to see you…..” I smiley muttered.
“Aren’t you ashamed to stand in my presence,” he coldly glared at me.
“And tell me why I should be ashamed to visit my mate….?” I sarcastically mumbled the last part. He seemed taken aback by my words.
“Why are you here?” He asked.
“Well that’s a good question, I am here to…… I didn’t get to finish as he lugged my throat.
“Nicholas you….. hurt….. hurting me,” I muttered as I struggled to free his hold from me.
“One more word and I will strangle you to death,” he snarled, his teeth bared out.
“Fine….. fi……fine,” I fearfully uttered, who wanted to act all strong? God this guy is fucking scary to joke around with, I feel fucking stupid trying to act all tough in front of him.
“I gave you two days……
” What did I say!!…..
“That….. You….. ga……. ve…. me……to…. two days,” I stammered breathlessly.
“Fine, two days to reject him,” he warned.
“I gave you two fucking days to reject him and cut off any fucking bond you have with that stupid brother of mine……” he paused.
“You are mine and mine alone, I don’t like sharing my stuff,” he growled possessively.
“But if you go against my words, I will crush you and crush you……
” Ahh!! Nicholas, you are hurting me,” I cried out.
“SHUT UP!! ” he commands.
“Ok……o…k…. I….. am…. calm but you are…. haa!!” I cried as his grip tightened more with his nail piercing slowly beside my neck.
“I warned you to keep quiet, this is a little thing compared to what I will deal to you if you anyway go against my will……. So better comply,” he threatened before pushing me out of the way like nothing just happened.
“Haa!! It hurts…..” Rubbing the neck region I whimpered, I decided not to be weak but here I found myself weeping and crying my balls out. I hate that I am too weak and couldn’t do anything, I watch them toss me around as if my life depends on them. Giving Nengi my piece of mind I thought that I am strong enough to talk to any of the siblings but see where it landed me.
I am tired of being viewed as a weakling and vulnerable person, I didn’t want to reject them because I wanted to watch Nengi wallow in pain throughout the rest of her life to show her that she couldn’t do anything that those threats of hers were nothing but an empty vessel. But if rejecting the twins is the only way to bring back my peace then I have to for the sake of my sanity.
