Nicolai saw his brothers coming towards them under water. Better swimmer than fish. Within seconds they were in front of them.
Lucifer saw serenity asleep and smile erupted on his lips. Vincent kissed her forehead and wrapped shirt around her necked body. They know that she has fallen asleep after a century. She can’t sleep without mate.
‘I want to stay like this forever…’
Nicolai mind linked his brothers.
‘I am scared Nicolai’
Vincent said.
‘she will never forgive us’
‘we have to prove her that it wasn’t our fault… We were under spell… Someone did this to us.’
Lucifer defended.
‘its not that easy… If they can caste spell on us and serenity then they are powerful. We have to be smarter than them. They know everything about us and we know nothing.’
Vincent replied looking at his mate.
‘serenity can find out… We need her powers.’
Nicolai suggested.
‘but she is not ready… Protectors might help us… We need to find them.’
Lucifer said.
‘something is wrong Lucifer… Protectors never leave Serenity alone. They wouldn’t have let her work like this… Something bad has happened, Serenity can’t control her powers.’
Vincent caressed her hair.
‘Protectors should be around, Vince… They were there when she forgot Everything then why not now…’
Nicolai questioned.
‘thats what we need to find out, Nico and there is only one person who can tell us everything’
Vincent Smirked.
‘Arthur’
Serenity woke up feeling hand on her hair. She opened her eyes and her eyes fell on Nicolai’s face. Handsome as always. She smiled at him and his heart started racing, he wasn’t expecting that.
He smiled back while caressing her cheek with his thumb. Serenity wrapped her hands around his neck and placed her lips on his. Nicolai stiffened with shock but didn’t waste a single second before kissing her back while tightening his hold on her. His one hand wrapped around her waist possessively as he pulled her closer by neck with another hand.
There lips slide on each other, tongues started dancing together. She clutched on his arms tightly and deepened the kiss. Their hearts were beating in rhythm.
His brothers smiled looking at them as ray of hope rose in their hearts.
Serenity opened her eyes and small fish crossed her view, she frowned and roamed her eyes around her. Realisation hit her harder than truck, she quickly pushed Nicolai away and looked at him disgusted making his heart shatter in pieces.
She completely forgot what’s happening in their lives, sleep after century worked like a compulsion. She thought she is still there sweet mate.
His brothers frown to realising that it was second of Illusion.
Serenity glared at Nicolai and swam out of the water closely followed by hybrids. She stood on the ground dripping in water. She quickly buttoned up her shirt to hide her necked body but water has made it transparent. She ran her hands through hair frustratingly, cursing herself for her stupidity.
“Sera… Don’t do this”
She heard Vincent but didn’t look at him.
“We need you.”
Serenity smiled bitterly.
“You need me?… No my king, you don’t need me… There are other women to fill my place in your life. There is no need of me.”
Her words sliced their hearts in pieces, is it that easy for her to think like this about them.
“We haven’t even think about any other women, Sera… It’s just you.”
Lucifer said.
“Believe me”
“Believe you?…”
She turned around and glared at him.
“Did you believe me when i was begging you?”
She growled at them.
“You need to give us Chance to explain”
Nicolai begged trying to touch her.
“Don’t you dare touch me…”
She seethed.
“There is nothing to hear… I don’t want to keep any relation with you three…”
“You can’t break our relation even if you want. You can’t win over Destiny”
Lucifer challenged.
“We know you didn’t kill Angel”
Vincent said.
“It took a century for you to realise…”
She countered.
“Sera just listen to us”
Nicolai pleaded.
“I am tired… Of everything…”
Her voice became defeated.
“You you want to do anything for me then leave me alone… I don’t want to be proven innocent, i don’t want to explain or hear explanation… It’s over…”
She turned around and started walking away.
Ritual is over and she is not throwing fire anymore.
“It’s not over Sera… Anything but over… I have faith in my destiny… We meant for each other that’s why we are here in front of you.”
Lucifer said firmly.
Painful smile appeared on her lips.
‘may be destiny wants you to witness my end.’
She mocked her situation and kept walking.
“We can’t leave her alone. They are starting another ritual.”
Vincent declared.
“Which element?”
Nicolai sounded worried.
“Water!”
Lucifer replied.
“It’s just water, it won’t be that hard.”
Nicolai said in relief but Vincent shook his head.
“No Nico… Water means they will summon Rain and Rain comes with___”
“Thunder!”
Nicolai’s eyes widened as he remembered what thunder did to her last time. He almost died watching her in pain.
“Fuck!… Sera stop”
He yelled.
But at the same time thunder roared in the sky followed by ear piercing scream of serenity. She collapsed on the floor on her knees. As she felt the pain like thousands of needles piercing in her back.
Their hearts broke with her each scream. Lucifer lifted her up in his arms and rubbed her back.
“We need to take her away from here”
“We shouldn’t exit this premises… It won’t protect us from the spell…”
Vincent replied.
“You two stay here… I’ll go”
Lucifer said.
“It will break again when we come back”
“Take care”
Nicolai said while kissing her head. She wasn’t in a condition to reply him.
Lucifer retrieved back into the deep forest with serenity leaving his brothers behind.
Someone who was watching them from the dark Smirked evilly.
“Do anything you want Hybrids… No one can save you from me… You will be destroyed by my hands… You will cry and beg but no will come to the rescue… That day isn’t far… Do you know that your sweet mate has only five days left… As soon as this century completes her soul wil leave her body….”
Brothers completely unaware of that presence, went back to the campus.
