Abby in Tina’s mind was sturdy. She grew up without showing her aggrieved, hurt and helpless expressions, but today…
She came to her senses right away that she had come a cropper on it.
But it was too late to feel regret. She still remembered that she determinedly patted her chest to assure Abby just now, only feeling suffocated at this moment.
‘It’s all Eva’s fault. She not only didn’t share difficulties with us, but also made troubles continually.’
Tim returned to their master room from the living room. He drank a big mouthful of cold water, hoping that it could wash away the anger accumulated in his heart. After putting down the glass, he glanced at Tina, “Show more discipline to Eva. Look at her dress. She wasn’t like a girl born in a decent family.”
Tina was not happy. She explained, “It is normal for young girls to like dressing up and pursuing fashion.”
“Normal?” Tim glared at her, frowning. “Is it normal that a girl stayed out playing till all hours? Is it normal that she came back drunk? Is it normal that she called her sister a bitch?”
“…” Tina couldn’t say anything.
She increasingly felt that all this must be done on purpose by Abby.
She lay on the bed depressingly, thinking that she would see what tricks Abby would play until everything was fine.
Abby turned and walked into her room. It was a stunning victory!
She wanted to see how Eva would apologize to her tomorrow.
Abby went to the bedside and found her son was still sleeping. What happened outside couldn’t interrupt his dream at all. Abby finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The next day, Abby learned that her father had gone out, so she took Ethan out to the hospital by saying that she wasn’t well. Actually, they went to have lunch at Elaine’s house. She took Ethan back to the Jones house until sunset. By this time, Tim was also back.
“Abby, I heard you’re not well. What’s the matter?” Tim picked Ethan up and asked Abby with concern.
Abby supported her forehead with her hand, pretending to be weak, seated her limp body on the sofa. “Nothing. Maybe it’s because I didn’t sleep well last night.”
Tim thought of what had happened last night, and his face changed slightly. Looking up at Tina, he said in a deep voice, “Where’s Eva? Call her down.”
“She…” Before Tina could finish her words, Abby spoke.
“Dad, forget it. Let it go. I believe Eva didn’t mean to do that.”
Abby’s words made Tina more comfortable that at least her Eva didn’t need to lose her face and apologize to others.
But she didn’t expect that Abby slowly said, “Anyway…it’s not the first time that she treated me like that…I don’t want to mention anything in the past…Dad, I think I should move out with Ethan…If you are unwilling to separate with Ethan, I can move out myself and left Ethan to you…”
Abby secretly glanced at her son without anyone noticing.
Before Tim wanted to speak, his grandson suddenly burst out crying.
“Mom…Don’t leave me alone. I’m scared…Mom had been forced to leave by aunt. What should I do if she bullied me? I dare not stay at home if grandpa isn’t at home…I don’t want to be bullied…”
The little guy’s acting was more realistic than anyone else. He was like the hero in tragedies who was crying with tears flowing down rapidly. He looked so pathetic, arousing people’s sympathy.
The little guy put his arm around Tim’s neck and cried heartbroken, which melted Tim’s heart.
Tim put Ethan next to Abby. He stood aside with his arms akimbo and said to Tina,
“Go and get that girl down for me.”
Tim, who had not shown the dignity of the head of the family for many years, shocked Tina.
She nodded stupidly and said, “Oh, yes. I’ll go to get her. ”
Then she turned and walked upstairs.
Tim turned around and looked at the tearful mother and son, and comforted them, “Abby, Ethan, don’t cry. Dad will give you an explanation.”
After a while, there was a footstep coming down the stairs.
Tim looked up and saw Eva’s sleepy face and her messy hair like a bird’s nest on top of her head. He was more disappointed with his little daughter.
Tina walked behind Eva with a gloomy face.
Eva walked to Tim. She firstly yawned lazily and asked, “What happened, Dad? I was still sleeping.”
With an effort, Tim suppressed his anger and said, “Eva, apologize to Abby.”
“Apologize?” At this time, Eva was almost awake, “What do you mean? Why do I need to apologize to her?”
“Do you forget what you did last night? You scolded your sister and even nearly hit her. Do you know what you have done wrong?”
She asked Tina if what happened last night was true with her suspicious eyes.
Frowning, Tina didn’t say anything, but just looked at her. It seemed that it was true. No wonder her mother told her to make a temporary concession when she asked her to go downstairs just now. It turned out that this was what happened.
But…for what?
Why should she make concession? Why should she apologize to Abby?
That bitch was cheap. Why should she make amends to such a shameless woman?
Eva laughed and said, “Why should I apologize to her? Even if I’m drunk and I don’t remember anything, I won’t hit her. I’ll just quarrel with her.”
“You——”
Tim was speechless!
He really didn’t see Eva hit Abby. After thinking about it, he said, “But why did you scold her? What’s more, do you know the words you spoke out are…Who did you learn all this from? ”
Abby knew clearly that Tim had a good temper. With only a few words, Tina and Eva can easily drive his anger away.
In this way, they were likely to escape from their responsibilities and punishments.
