Brian didn’t slow down but walked to the elevator specially reserved for the CEO.
The elevator door opened and the man stepped in with his long legs outstretched.
When he turned around, he found the woman standing stupidly outside. Brian said with resignation, “Come in.”
“Yes!”
Abby was displeased and went into the elevator with her head bowed.
‘Obviously he can say something polite when he called me in. Why did he always talk in such aggressive and cold manner?’
The elevator door closed slowly. Abby found that the elevator was still rising upward. Doubtfulness arose spontaneously in her mind. ‘Isn’t the President’s office the highest floor of company? Is there another floor above it?’
That’s right! There was actually another floor.
Except for Brian’s closest subordinates, only one or two servants who often cleaned and prepared meals knew here.
Abby followed Brian out, as the elevator door opened.
When she saw the scene in front of her, her eyes suddenly brightened. It was really hidden but beautiful place!
‘It’s like an open-air fancy café. No, it’s a small bar. No, it should be a resort. It’s…’ Abby had no way to express it in words.
There was a small fountain in the center, where there was a rockery. Observing closely, Abby found various colors of small goldfish, wagging their tails, was playing in the bottom of the water.
All the steps were carved with white marble. All kinds of exquisite European patterns on them brought sense of ancient Greek mystery. The color of the sofa was dark gray. It was moderate ly soft and large. Even three to five people sleeping on it wouldn’t feel crowded.
And facing the fountain was a mini open bar, of which back wall was chiseled out holes of different size, inside neatly lined with a variety of expensive wine.
“Sit down. Are you tired after standing for such a long time?” Brian said. Then he walked to the bar counter by his long legs. His tall body leaned by the bottles of luxury wine. Even without saying a word, he was already like a beautiful scene.
Abby still looked a little constrained.
But she still obediently chose a side seat, gently sat down.
After a while, she saw Brian returning with the drink.
“Would you like some wine?” Brian sat down and casually raised the bottle in his hand.
Abby was surprised, ‘Was him take me up to invite me to drink?
She shook her head. “Mr. Davies, it’s my working hours now.”
Brian seemed to care little about it. “So what,” he said.
Abby got confused.
Brian was known as a workaholic, especially when he was in the company, he behaved harsh and cold. But he now looked like a young rich hedonist.
Glancing at Brian, she saw that the man had taken off his coat and reached out to unfasten the tie around his neck. All of a sudden, three buttons of the top of the shirt were unbuttoned, showing his trained bronze pecs, which exuded the beauty of a healthy male.
A faint blush slowly appeared on Abby’s tender face.
‘Why did the man become more and more elusive?’
It was already six o ‘clock in the evening. The lights were on, but the night was not yet over.
Abby looked down around and saw all the neon lights. The night of the big city seemed to be all under her feet. At this time, she finally vaguely understood why men always had so much pursuit and ambition in their careers!
Not every man could obtain such achievements.
With Brian’s indications, Abby took a sip of wine.
Somehow, maybe it’s true that people could get drunk before the wine make people drunk. With such beautiful scenery, it was difficult not to get drunk.
Abby stood up, standing by the ivory steps. She was looking at the far distance. The night wind was slowly blowing her hair. Brian was deeply impressed by the image of a beautiful woman standing at the end of all the lights.
“Abby.”
Brian got up and went over to her side. The man propped himself up on the steps with one hand, and the another hand in his suit pocket. The word he spoke out was also like the lover’s whisper, which was gently out after traveling around the lips and teeth.
Maybe it was because drinking, or the night was too intoxicating. When Abby slowly raised her head, her eyes were bright like being brimming with autumn water, clear like cold spring, having a kind of ineffable fragility
Brian’s beautiful, god-like face was so close. His deep black eyes were filled with deep tenderness. It was so dreamy in this tantalizing landscape.
“Mr. Davies…” Abby spread out her red lips to talk. The soft voice was like a pot of water collected from a lake in March, slowly flowing into the heart of Brian.
Brian’s heart was warm and become soft for no reason.
He stared at her eyes and asked, “What is your relationship with Ivan?”
The original luster in Abby’s eyes, because of this sentence and the name, dimmed. In an instant, all the past events of five years ago lingered her heart like smoke.
The lovers who had loved each other once became like this now. Her heart was full of mixed feelings.
Her eyes were misty and watery, and she gently pursed her ruddy lips, turning her eyes aside to gaze at the bright neon landscape in the distance.
She was so sad and sorrowful. It seemed that it was very hard for her to disclose the secret. In fact, Brian could guess something even if she didn’t tell him.
“He’s my…”
“Needless to say.” Brian interrupted Abby in the middle of her sentence.
She turned to look at his face.
There was a faint smile on his face, without other expression.
“Well.” Abby wore a wry smile, with some kind of self-deprecating meaning, also realized that she didn’t have to say it out.
“Did he bully you?” With his keen eyes, Brian had caught the displeasure on Abby’s face from the two encounters today.
It was not difficult to know that she had repulsion on Ivan.
Brian felt gratified at this!
“No.” Abby bit her lower lip.
He had never done that before, but now…
Perhaps, what she had done really broke his heart, so even if five years had passed, Ivan’s resentment against her hadn’t faded away, but become deeper and deeper.
“I did something wrong first.”
When Abby said this sentence, her voice began trembling.
The sentence was short, but sent up a fountain of waves in Brian’s heart.
