Abby crouched down to pick up the scattered papers on the ground.
Suddenly she perceived brightness, and then she looked up and saw the door was pushed open from the outside. The orange sunlight penetrated deep into her eyes, making her squinting.
She saw Brian’s tall and handsome figure was gilded with a golden glow from the western sun.
Brian, like a man who came out of an ancient city gate, shone by sun, was receiving the worship of all creatures in the world.
Perfect figure, noble temperament, inborn beautiful face… This man was absolutely god’s blue-eyed boy!
This moment had formed an eternal freeze frame in Abby’s mind from then on.
Brian’s eyes ran over his woman who was crouching and gawking at him. The next moment, his eyes ran into the sight of Ivan.
Two eye sights were colliding in the air, intertwining in the sunlight.
Brian’s eyes were domineering, as if didn’t allow anyone to challenge him.
While Ivan’s eyes were magnanimous and natural, showing a gentle and elegant temperament.
“Mr. Davies.” Ivan flicked away all his thoughts from his face, and greeted respectfully.
“Mr. Davies.” Abby had also cleaned up the ground, stood up.
‘What are you doing here?
Brian spoke coldly.
“We…” In the end Abby was a woman. Her scheming, in every aspect, was inferior to men rooted in the business world. Though she tried to maintain a calm look, the dodging and complex eyes still had betrayed her.
“Oh.” In comparison, Ivan behaved more natural.
With a respectful smile on his face, he explained, “I left a document here and came back to find it. Then I happened to see Miss Jones here, so I asked if there was anything I could do to help her.”
After listening to his words, Brian not only didn’t express that he was convinced, but also didn’t say that he was still in doubt. He just cast his eyes of question on Abby.
“Oh, yes. That’s it.” Abby also responded immediately, nodding hastily.
Brian eyes were emotionless. No one could detect his emotions. He nodded and his thin lips open. “Have you packed up the things?”
“It’s one.” Abby, twinkling, nodded.
“Well.” Slightly raising his jaw, he stepped forward, naturally stretched out his big hand to wrap her little hand and walked out.
Abby slightly opened her mouth. Her face immediately turned red.
And Ivan, who was still standing in the conference hall, was stunned like being thunderstruck.
The way Brian took her hand just now was so natural that it was not like the first time. Have they been so close?
Abby was stepping on her high heel shoes. The warm temperature on the man’s palm passed to her small hand. Embarrassment and excitement were interwoven in her heart.
She stumbled behind him.
So the man stopped his steps, turned his head and squinted at her.
“Still hurt?”
Abby quickly replied, “No, it doesn’t hurt.”
Brian frowned slightly and said, “You can wear flat shoes, as you are unable to wear high heels.”
There were butterflies in Abby’s stomach. She hesitated, said,” But, but our company has a regulation that high heels must be worn in working hours.
“Rules are made by people. They can be revised.”
“…”
What a domineering and arrogant tone!
Abby stopped talking, depressed.
“He set the rules himself, but now he wanted me not to wear them. Isn’t him stumping me?”
Brian’s expression softened and his voice was no longer as cold as before.
“Rules are dead, while people are alive. Since you’re not used to the shoes, you may as well not wear it.”
His words were kind of sweet. Abby’s depression had also alleviated a lot, but she was still pouting her mouth, said discontentedly, “But the person who will be scolded is me, not you.”
“No. I have the final say in my company. I’ll inform Ben the abolishment of this rule later. I’ll see who dares to oppose it!”
Abby was shocked by his cool, domineering tone.
Brian didn’t say anything, just silently held her hand and continued to walk ahead.
Seeing they were about to arrive at the office area from the meeting area, Abby got nervous and confused, and then hurriedly pulled out her hand. But he didn’t let go. The slightest movement of his hand would increase his power and not please her.
“Mr. Davies, I…” Abby bit her lip. She looked a little bit awkward, “You… Let go.”
Brian had beautiful eyes with long eyelashes, just as delicate as a woman, especially the way he was squinting at people.
“What if I don’t?”
Abby got speechless!
‘How can this man be so bossy? You have to do whatever he wants.’
So she said a little angrily, “Then I won’t go.”
The way she talked was like a lovely spoiled child, causing the man laugh from the bottom of his throat.
Then Brian released her and walked straight ahead.
Abby lowered her head, just like being wronged, followed him.
Open office area.
Ben, Lily, Luna and others were all present.
“Where was Jones?” The person who asked was Lily.
“I don’t know.”
“Don’t know.”
“Wasn’t she at the meeting?”
Colleagues said they didn’t know where Abby had gone.
Luna’s face became gloomier. Where did the woman go to seduce the men? She hasn’t had time to settle with her about what just happened in the conference hall!
Ben stepped forward and said to Lily, “Miss Smith, I don’t think the matter can be solved in this way. In any case, it ought to be approved by our president.”
Subconsciously, Ben felt that Brian was unlikely to dismiss Abby Jones, for he had always felt that there was some delicate relationship between Brian and this woman. He had been with Brian for years and had never seen him care so much about a woman.
Lily sneered, “Mr. Harris, it’s useless for you to say this to me. It’s the order from our vice president. Does Miss Davies have to get your permission to dismiss a person?”
“Of course not!” Ben explained.
“That’s it.” Lily rolled her eyes.
Sweeping over the surroundings, Luna saw Luka Brown who was sitting at the seat opposite to Abby’s.
“Have you seen Abby?” Luna didn’t ask who Luka was. She asked.
“… I don’t know.” Luka had never been so close to company’s senior management, let alone the counterpart was Luna, the vice president. “She went to attend the meeting this afternoon and hasn’t come back yet,” She said cautiously and timidly.
