Daniel’s POV

No matter how much my wolf, Roman, wanted to go near his wolf and wanted to touch her, I refrained him from doing so because our mate didn’t give us the respect we deserved, and on top of that, she used to keep tasting our patience.
Only I knew how much hard it was for me to keep my wolf in control being an alpha. And on top of that, the time was not at all passing.
‘Our mate needs us.’, Roman said, smelling the pain coming directly from Angel. ‘Staying beside her will ease her pain because of the periods.’, He added.
‘She can open her big mouth to fight, but she can’t open it to ask me to stay beside her.’, I responded.
‘Are you going to keep her words on you, big EGO? Is your EGO more important than our mate?’, He growled at me. I wanted to say YES, but then I knew that my wolf would also get mad at me. I could believe my mate. In just two days, she managed to initiate my wolf against me. He was jumping like a love-sick puppy around her already.
The next thing I knew, my wolf started to take control of my body to run into his mate.
‘Fine! I’m going beside her. Calm down, lover boy, I said and went back to the bed where Angel was trying to sleep. She didn’t give me any reaction of happiness.
‘She can’t even be thankful for me so generous!’
‘I won’t mind if she kicks your ass for being a jerk.’, Roman snapped.
I snaked my arms around her waist and hid my face in the crook of her neck.
“Perfect.”, I muttered before I could control my mouth. She didn’t repeat anything but shifted a little to give me some space on the bed so that I wouldn’t fall again.
“As I said before, I didn’t want to ruin your mood.”, She muttered in a low tone.
“Hmm. It’s my mistake that I reacted that way even when I asked that question. You had warned me though.”, I muttered.
“Hmm,” She turned around and hid her head in my chest.
This was what I was missing till a moment before.
I smiled and kissed her forehead. “I’m close to my aunt because she is the one who played my mother’s role since I was a kid. She has lived with us since then because she lost her mate before she could get a chance to be with him.”, I spoke. I didn’t know why, but I had already started the topic.
“How?”
“Well, that was my mistake.”, I responded, recalling that horrible moment. “When she turned eighteen, she found out that one of the pack warriors was her mate, but then, there was a surprise attack from the vampires on the same day. I wanted to help dad and the others; I stepped out of the packhouse, not listening to my elders. I would have died that day if James, Aunt Emma’s mate, would not have saved my life, but he…he lost his while saving me. Though Aunt Emma never blames me for that, I still feel guilty for snatching her mate from her.”
“Hey,” She hugged me tight, nuzzling in my chest. “Don’t think like that. You were just trying to help others.”
“And ended up snatching my Aunt’s happiness.”
“I’m sure that James wouldn’t have been thinking like this when he saved your life.”
“Hmm, he asked me to take care of Aunt Emma in his last words.”, I confessed, wiping my tears which wanted to slip from my eyes anytime soon.
“And I’m so proud of you that you’re keeping that promise of yours.”, She muttered, lifting her head and kissing my chin. “And I promise that I will help you fulfill your promise that you made to James.”
“Only if you will stay with me all your life.”
“Only if you behave properly.”
“You meant to say that I don’t know how to behave?”
“I don’t want to fight with you AGAIN.”, She said, closing all room for argument, but I wanted to argue with her by asking what she meant by saying so? But at the same time, I didn’t want to fight with her AGAIN.
At the same time, I was hoping for her not to ask any questions related to my mother because that topic was something that I didn’t want to talk about.
“I’m glad that I married you. Because of you now, I’m blessed with two mothers.”, She responded.
“That woman…she is not a good human, Angel. You should stay away from her.”
“I’m not going to ask the reason why you think so, but at the same time, I will be more than happy if you let me make my decision on my own.”
“You will get hurt at the end.”, I warned.
“Well, life doesn’t give free lessons to anyone. So, I won’t mind getting hurt and learning a lesson.”, She said casually.
“Why don’t you ever listen to me?” I snapped.
“I can say the same, Daniel.”, She resorted in the same tone.
There we go again.
“I don’t know why we even talk when we end up fighting every time!!” I hissed.
“Maybe because we’re not the right match for each other.”, She muttered. “Maybe Universe is giving us a signal.”
“Easy for you to say that because you’re human, but I can’t say the same. My wolf needs you.”, as much as I do.
I wanted to say that line, but I couldn’t, maybe because my EGO was big enough to say that.
“Exactly, that’s why you need me. For your WOLF.”, She said and closed her eyes to sleep. I didn’t know how long I stared at her before closing my eyes.

The following day, I heard the sound of the door getting unlocked, I had hardly opened my eyes, but before my mind could register anything, a girl attacked me the moment she walked in.
What the…!!
Not a girl but a werewolf!
I grabbed her by her hair and threw her away.
“Diana.”, Angel screamed and ran toward the girl before glaring at me.
What?
She was the one who attached to me first.
But Diana ignored Angel and attacked me. I was not a guy who raised his hand on a female, so I didn’t attack her again but seems like this bitch was in the mood to leave some scratch on my face.
But the next thing I knew, Angel was standing between that Diana girl and me and had blocked her attack. Wasn’t she on the other corner of the room just a moment before?
How could she reach her this early?
“Lily give control back to Diana.”, Angel said, pushing Diana away. “And he’s not an intruder but my mate.”
Immediately Diana’s eyes changed, and she narrowed her eyes before speaking, “I didn’t know that.”
“How will you know when you jumped on him before giving any explanation?” Angel asked, crossing her hand around her chest.
‘Damn! I wanted to touch and suck her boobs.’, Roman said, looking at her.
I would be lying if I said that I didn’t want to do the same.
“Now, apologies to him.”, Angel scolded her.
“You’re asking me to apologies?” Diana asked in shock.
“Yes! Do it now. You disrespected him with your behavior. Now come on, apologies to him because no one is allowed to disrespect him.”, She said.
‘She should add that ‘no one is allowed to disrespect him’ but ME.,’ I thought, on which Roman laughed at me.
