CHAPTER 52

Book:FALLING FOR A FAKE OMEGA Published:2024-6-3

Within a week, Kenneth became a good partner in life, or it’s more accurate to say that he became good at work. One morning, Sabrina woke up late and closed her eyes again because she was blinded by the sunlight. She forgot to return the curtains to their original position and just left them open. When she looked at the sofa bed, she furrowed her brow because Kenneth was still asleep. She got up and approached him to wake him up.
“Wake up, Kenneth! Don’t you plan on cooking breakfast?” She scolded him even though his eyes were still closed. Sabrina got irritated when Kenneth still didn’t move, so she kicked his foot.
Sabrina had a headache and her whole body was aching, but she still insisted that Kenneth wake up to cook breakfast for her. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t really do it. Nevertheless, he opened his eyes and smiled at the woman.
“Good morning, beautiful.” He teased Sabrina.
“What’s good about the morning when you haven’t even gotten up until now?” She raised her voice at Kenneth, but she immediately felt guilty after scolding him.
And because she didn’t want Sabrina to be mad at her, Kenneth forced himself to get up. “What do you want to eat?” He asked the woman.
“Anything will do because I’m really hungry,” she made an excuse. In truth, she could just go downstairs since they had a cook at home. She just wanted to give Kenneth a hard time, especially after catching him staring at a sexy woman they encountered at the church yesterday.
Kenneth nodded and headed towards the door to go out. Sabrina said anything would do, so he chose the easiest thing to cook. He prepared scrambled eggs and spam. He also made some hot chocolate. The table was already set when the intercom rang, instructing him to bring the food to the room and eat there. Of course, he followed and looked for a tray to put the food on.
When he returned to the room, Sabrina was not there, but he heard some rustling sounds from the bathroom, so he assumed she had taken a shower before eating. He placed the tray of food on the round coffee table near the window because there was a beautiful view outside.
He prepared the dishes when Sabrina came out of the bathroom, completely naked. He was annoyed at the things she was doing as if she intentionally wanted to tease him. For what? To have a reason to terminate their agreement?
“Have you eaten?” Sabrina subtly asked the man, but his teeth clenched, as he didn’t respond or refuse or agree. Annoying!
“Not yet,” he answered.
“Then eat me, I mean, eat with me,” she said, but it seemed like his conversation partner was deaf. “Are you deaf?” she angrily asked the man when he didn’t respond or refuse or agree.
“My sense of hearing is still fine, Sabrina. Get dressed so we can eat,” Kenneth said in a calm voice, but he struggled to control himself.
Sabrina was a seductive creature, and he didn’t want to make the same mistake again and have her think that he was only after her body. He wanted to make Sabrina feel loved, that he already loved her, but she never gave him a chance. She was always angry or annoyed with him even if he didn’t do anything wrong.
“You’re not in a position to order me around. If I want to eat while naked, you don’t have any say in that!” She snapped at him because she ran out of forbidden techniques.
Due to what he heard, his headache worsened. “Then eat while naked,” he said and grabbed the laundry basket to leave the room. “Excuse me, but I still have to do this.”
“Come back here!” Sabrina shouted at the man.
“Why?” Kenneth asked.
“I told you to eat with me,” Sabrina said.
He stared at her for a moment, contemplating whether or not he should agree to what she wanted. Could he handle swallowing his food? “I’ll just wash my hands,” he said.
“No need, I’ll just feed you,” Sabrina offered.
“I can feed myself, Sabrina,” Kenneth complained, unable to understand her behavior. Sometimes she was harsh towards him, and other times overly sweet. “All you do is complain. Do you want me to get angry? Sit down!” Her voice rose as Kenneth was being stubborn. She had been considerate, but he refused to cooperate. “Open your mouth,” she ordered him, and when he shook his head, she slammed the spoon and fork onto the table. “Next time, when I say I’ll feed you, you better comply,” Sabrina warned him before going to the child who had almost woken up from their noise.
Did she really expect him to cooperate when she had no clothes on? How could he swallow his food when the view in front of him was more enticing than the scrambled eggs and spam he cooked?
“Sorry,” he apologized even though he hadn’t done anything wrong to prevent her from getting mad at him. He prided himself on being tough, but when it came to Sabrina, he became like a fool.
“You really don’t want me to feed you? Then let me be the one to be fed,” she said to him when she returned.
There were times when he got annoyed because some of the things Sabrina asked him to do were insulting. He admitted that everything Sabrina did was to drive him away from the house, but he couldn’t allow it.
He had never backed down from a fight. After breakfast, he was supposed to go to the laundry area, but Sabrina ordered him to attend to the kids in the pool first because they wanted to swim. Of course, he obediently followed like a puppy.
“It’s almost done, Sabrina,” he said to her while massaging his head, which was throbbing again.
“I know,” she replied and then pushed him into the pool. After several years, she couldn’t move on from the time when he rescued Isabelle from the pool when it was her who couldn’t swim. So, after the divorce, she really tried her best to learn to swim.
His jaws clenched in anger at what the woman did. He knew how to swim, but suddenly his body weakened, and he couldn’t move his hands and feet. He panicked, especially when he saw Sabrina walking away. He tried to call out to her, but his vision suddenly darkened.
“Kenneth!” she shouted his name before jumping into the water and helping the struggling man. But she was puzzled why Kenneth had difficulty resurfacing when he knew how to swim. “Are you okay?” she asked the man as they emerged from the water.
“I-I’m not feeling well,” Kenneth replied before he passed out.
Sabrina panicked because she didn’t know what to do with the unconscious man. She screamed for help, and luckily someone was nearby and immediately came to their aid. “Please help him,” she ordered and then followed the man inside the house.
As soon as they reached the room, she scolded herself for being worried about the man who betrayed her in the past.
“Kenneth…” she weakly called his name as she removed his wet clothes.
