CHAPTER 36

Book:FALLING FOR A FAKE OMEGA Published:2024-6-3

One fateful morning, Sabrina’s luck turned when she discovered Isabelle alone in the gazebo. Last night, she decided to keep her husband to herself even if it was against all odds. Isabelle was quietly knitting and unaware of her presence.
She had been waiting for a perfect opportunity to confront Isabelle about the affair with Kenneth. Determined to address the situation head-on, she announced her presence to the woman, who was not happy in seeing her.
“It’s a sunny morning, isn’t it?” Sabrina started, which caused Isabelle to raise her eyebrow. Well, Isabelle wasn’t used to having a conversation with her. Earlier, as she approached Isabelle in the gazebo, her emotions were running high. Pent-up anger has been kept inside her for more than a year!
“Sabrina, what is it? Can’t you see I am busy? Please leave!”
“I need to speak with you, Isabelle,” Sabrina said.
“Some other time, Sabrina,” the woman replied.
“Do you want me to discuss your affair with my husband during dinner?” she asked, and Isabelle gasped loudly.
“What are you talking about, Sabrina?”
“Come on, Isabelle. Do you really believe that I am so naïve? You came to the West Wing several times and slept with my husband while I was sleeping in the other room. You had a wild night with my husband but I can no longer ignore the affair between you and Kenneth. You end it with him or I will inform your husband about this, Isabelle,” she warned Isabelle but the woman just laughed.
“And do you think they will believe you, Sabrina? They will just assume that you are insecure around me,” Isabelle stated.
“You really think I am stupid, Isabelle? FYI, I have a recording of when you and Kenneth had sex in the West Wing. Do you think Daniel and Grandfather would love to watch it?”
“You are just bluffing!”
“Oh really? You even dared to prepare our breakfast in the morning wearing the same dress that you wore that night,” she continued bluffing, and when Isabelle’s cheeks turned red, Sabrina knew she was about to win.
“I’m really sorry,” Isabelle said.
“If you are truly sorry for what you did, end it with Kenneth,” Sabrina ordered. “Your affair is destroying my marriage, as well as your marriage to Daniel. End it before it’s too late for both of us, Isabelle.”
“I can’t begin to express how sorry I am, Sabrina. Don’t worry, I will distance myself from Kenneth,” Isabelle promised.
“Thank you,” Sabrina said before leaving the gazebo.
After confronting Isabelle, Sabrina didn’t feel like working as a maid. So, she decided to stay in her room and read some books. Sabrina was engrossed in a book when Kenneth barged into their bedroom.
His action has startled her but she was used to his outburst over the years that they have been living together. She furrowed her brows at Kenneth before getting up from the day bed where she was reading.
“Don’t you know how to knock, Kenneth? This may be your property but please refrain from entering without knocking!”
“Isabelle called me,” he said, and his face was red with anger.
“And? Did your mistress inform you about our confrontation earlier?”
“She is not my mistress!”
“Oh really, Kenneth? She already confessed the truth to me. I warned you before to end everything with her or I will discuss this with your grandfather. Surely, your affair with Isabelle would a solid ground for divorce!”
“You wouldn’t drag my name into a scandal, Sabrina!”
“It is you who is dragging your name into the scandal, Kenneth. First of all, I wasn’t the one who had an affair with someone else’s wife,” she told him.
“I’m warning you, Sabrina. Stay away from my woman, or you’ll regret it later!”
Sabrina met his threat with a direct question. “Is that a threat, Kenneth?” she inquired, determined to confront his aggression.
“What do you think?” he retorted, leaving her to ponder his response as he walked away.
Unable to focus on her book, Sabrina threw it aside in frustration. She wondered which of the women had betrayed her, and her anger fueled her actions. She strode towards the door, nostrils flaring, and followed him but she lost Kenneth.
Instead, Sabrina went to talk to Isabelle again. As soon as she reached the woman’s bedroom, she pounded on the door persistently until she opened it.
“What is it this time, Sabrina?” she asked.
“I thought you heard me earlier, Isabelle. Why did you have to inform Kenneth about it? We need to talk right now!” Sabrina demanded, but as she grabbed Isabelle’s hand, she heard her husband’s voice.
“Go back to our room, Sabrina,” he ordered.
“Kenneth, how can you be so brave? Where’s Daniel?”
“The shower malfunctioned and Kenneth is just kind enough to help me. Why, Sabrina? Is it wrong to ask for his help? He is my brother-in-law!”
“I’ll handle this, Isabelle. Go back inside,” Kenneth instructed Isabelle. Then, he turned his attention to her. “What are you doing, Sabrina? I won’t tolerate this kind of attitude! What is your problem?”
Sabrina grew even more infuriated when she realized that Kenneth had immediately gone to Isabelle after their argument in her room. She had an intense desire to scratch his face, but she restrained herself, knowing it would only worsen the situation.
“I just wanted to ask her a question,” she stated, trying to maintain her composure.
Kenneth snapped back, accusing Sabrina of plotting against him. “You are a disgrace to this family, Kenneth! How can you have sex with your brother’s wife?”
“Shut up! Just shut up!”
“Why? I am just telling the truth, Kenneth. Should I let Daniel know that you are cuckolding him?”
“Your attitude is unbearable!” Kenneth shouted at her, his frustration palpable. Without further ado, he carried her away from Isabelle’s room to their own room.
Sabrina gasped as Kenneth lifted her effortlessly, feeling like a weightless object.
“Put me down right now!” She wriggled her legs, expressing her dissatisfaction with being carried like a sack of potatoes. “Kenneth put me down immediately!” she repeated, but Kenneth ignored her and continued walking. Confused about their destination, she questioned him, “Where are you taking me?”
When he turned towards his room and kicked open the door, Sabrina realized his intent as he deposited her in the center of his bed. Kenneth pulled at his hair, trying to find a calmer way to express himself.
“Stop acting like a wife, Sabrina,” he stated.
“I’m sorry for forgetting my place, Kenneth,” she acknowledged her mistake and immediately regretted her actions.
“Perhaps… are you jealous?” Kenneth pondered, searching for an explanation for Sabrina’s malicious and mean-spirited behavior. “Do you have feelings for me?” he asked, exploring the possibility.
Sabrina blinked in astonishment, staring at Kenneth as if he had lost his mind. “Are you crazy? Why would I have feelings for you?” she retorted, utterly surprised by his question. Of course, she lied. She had been in love with him since the first time she saw him.
“Why not?” he asked.
