Chapter 80.2- Their End, is my beginning

Book:Their End, My Beginning Published:2024-5-1

As I watched towards a distance, I felt a pair of arms around me. His presence silenced the taunting voices in my head.
“Now what’s your next plan?” A male voice asked behind us.
We turned towards the newcomer to see him holding Amanda in similar manner. I could see her shaking in his arms.
In between all the drama I forgot to see how she was doing. I am some kind of a friend. Promised to bring her back safely yet didnt think of her when needed.
She must have been scared so much. Yet till now she stood as if it was no issue at all. She indeed is so much stronger than I or anyone gave her credit for.
Thank God for Neo. I don’t think I would be able to console her when I can’t silence the voices without help.
“Go home? Taking her back to her book boyfriend?” Ryder said behind me yet I could hear him smirking. I elbowed him to which he grunted.
“What I meant is.. Now what’s your next plan with Black Jack co.?” Neo asked again irritated.
Like us they too just want to get out of here.
“Destroy it.” Ryder states firmly.
“No. We are going to keep it.” I retorted.
“What? After all you went through you want to go through this again?” He asked angrily.
I cupped his face. I could understand his anger. But there are somethings to consider as well. I turned to look towards Amanda to see her looking back at me in determination which confirmed my answer.
“Our fathers created it to help people. We need to bring it back to its original state.” I said.
“You girls don’t need to do that anymore.” A deep voice said.
“Dad!” Amanda exclaimed before running into his arms. I walked towards him as well.
“Hey kiddo.” He greeted while looking for injuries on Amanda before giving her a hug.
After a few moments they pulled back before he walked towards me doing the same with me.
“You kids absolutely sure you are fine?” He asked concerned.
“Yes dad.”
“Yes uncle.” We said unanimously.
“Hello gentlemen.” He glared at both Ryder and Neo that made them shift in their positions uncomfortably.
“You better protect my girls from now on. Lest I kick your asses for even a single tear from them, no matter what the reason is.” He warned.
“So what about before now.” I whined, to which I received a smack on my head.
People really need to warn me before hitting me.
“That’s what you get for trying to do things on your own.” He chastises us both.
“But I got dragged here unlike her who decided to join me for whatever reason that was.” Amanda whined after putting me under bus.
But from the glare from uncle got us to shut our mouth. “Anyways, while we are still are on that topic. This company needs to be destroyed.” He said firmly.
“But-”
“No buts. For one, You think the people will trust the company again? Two, you can still help legally.” He sighed. “It was the biggest mistake both your dad and I did. All we had to do was to grow our company and use its power instead of making a separate company for this. We were hasty, impatient and emotional in trying to help, that we weren’t willing to wait for other options.” He stated.
“Why emotional?” Amanda asked.
“Caught only that from the other things I said. Not surprising.” He chuckled, but got serious before continuing. “Damien and I had a friend in our childhood. In our days the street wasn’t that safe, like it is now. We lost our friend because of a notorious gang. Because they had a powerful group backing them up, his parents lost the case. Though we couldn’t do much then since we were kids, after we started our company and heard more about such cases, we wanted to do something as a way to compensate for our friend.”
“But couldn’t all these have happened even through our own company and not by Black Jack?” I asked gesturing around me.
“Yes but it wouldn’t have hurt a lot of people. In this way you could actually cover your actions in the name of your company. Also, the BlackJack was created to just help hence why it was more open to the public not closed like our company which invited danger.” He sighed.
“If you truly do want to help people, like I said earlier you can do it by moving legally. All you need is great lawyers and the money that your companies can provide.” He said with a final tone.
It’s true in this way we all could be safe.
Even though the danger of people trying to snatch from us in future is inevitable, we could at least lessen the chances. Plus the chances of many more innocent people being hurt unnecessarily in between the company battle could be avoided.
As soon as uncle Nick was done chastising us he turned back to Ryder and Neo. Seeing them being skittish and like a kid getting scolding for snatching toys, brought immense joy to me.
Now this is the normalcy that I could get used to.
Sensing that we were having fun seeing them in trouble, both Ryder and Neo turned to us trying to sneakly wink at us but still got caught by uncle making us laugh more.
In midst of our laughter I noticed all three of them looking at us with adoration on their face.
This sweetness, I definitely could get used to it too.
Well after wall, my parents ending is just my beginning.
