CHAPTER 34

Book:Prisoner To My Mate Published:2024-6-3

Today is my date with Theo. Instagram Theo and I have been chatting for two weeks and decided to finally meet each other today for a date. I am super excited to go on a date with Theo. Werewolves don’t do this kind of thing, so I am super excited for my date with Theo tonight. I am almost done getting ready at Charlotte ‘s place. We wanted it to seem more real, so
Theo is picking me up from Charlotte ‘s house instead of our house. I put on my earrings once Chloe is done styling my hair. Charlotte and Chloe both want to try out going on dates with their mates. They both see it the same way I do, a way to experience new things with your mate.
“I am outside,” Theo texts me on Instagram.
“I will be down in a sec” I reply back.
I check myself in the mirror one last time before stepping out of Charlotte ‘s room. It’s so funny the last time Theo and I were here. I was forced to leave. This time around, I couldn’t wait to walk out and meet him.
I open the front door, and in front of me is the most handsome man to ever walk the earth with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in his hands.
“For you, my mate,” Theo says, handing me the flowers in his hands. He is wearing a navy blue suit that hugs his body in the right places. Theo is one sexy man.
“Thank you,” I say, collecting the flowers from his hands and sniff them. They scent lovely. They are peonies, roses, and orchids in the bouquet.
“You look beautiful,” Theo says, looking at me with adoration in his eyes and a little bit of lust. I am wearing a white bodycon dress with a boat neck and puff sleeves.
“Thank you again, and you don’t look bad yourself,” I say, smiling
“I have to dress to impress,” He says, winking at me. I just smile and shake my head at him and walk out of the house so we can get going.
We drive for a few minutes before the car comes to a halt. I step out of the vehicle using Theo’s hand he offers. I expect to see us in front of a restaurant, but instead, we are in front of the woods. I look at Theo, wondering why we are here instead of the restaurant I told him was my favorite. Theo just smiles at me as he watches my eyes question him. He walks us into the woods, and everywhere is dark. The only light is the moon which is not helping a lot. I am about to use my werewolf eyes to see when lights suddenly appear everywhere.
I look up to the tree and see string lights on them, not just on the trees. They are also string lights joining the trees together. We walk down the path of the string light and stop once we arrive at a beautiful dinner setting. There are more lights around the table and in the shape of a heart. I feel tears form in my eyes as I take in the beautiful scene in front of me.
“This is so beautiful, Theo,” I say, smiling.
“I am happy you like it,” Theo says, pulling out the chair for me
“Thank you,” I say, sitting down. “How did you come up with the idea of doing this,” I ask while looking around me. Towards my left is one of the pack chefs cooking, most likely our dinner. Everywhere is decorated with string lights.
“Instagram”
“Instagram,” I say, shocked, “I thought you used it only to talk to me.”
“I did until I stumbled upon a page that gives you suggestions on where to go for a date and how to make it special.”
“Oh,”
“Yeah,” Theo says and signals someone behind me. Music is heard in the background once he drops his hand. I turn around to see Theo hired a live band. I didn’t think this human date could get any more perfect, but it just did. The song the band is playing is one of my favorite human songs. It’s an old one, careless whisper.
Theo and I had a lovely time during our date. I got to know Theo more, and the things I found out about him were not things I would have guessed about Theo. He likes food which surprises me because he is so fit and always makes fun of me that I eat too much. I also found out that he likes human movies. Mostly the one’s guys like, but I always assumed he hated everything human-related.
I told him about my dream of becoming a reporter, and his response to it was shocking. I thought he would say it’s foolish of a werewolf to have such a dream, but he didn’t. He even told me if I wanted to go back to school, I should let him know. I was stunned but happy he agreed to allow me to pursue my dream. We took some pictures together and posted them on Instagram.
I stand beside Theo as we say goodbye to Mom. She is about to leave and go back to my old pack.
“Do you really have to leave?” I ask, holding her hand.
“Yes, I do. You know how much I like having my own space,” Mom says,
“You can have your own house here too. I am sure if I ask Theo to build one for you, he will, right Theo,” I say, turning to face Theo, who nods his head at me.
“I know he will, but I am already used to the old house. It will just be there if I don’t live in it.”
“I really wish you could stay.”
“I know, dear, and I promise to visit once you bless me with grandkids,” Mom says, and my cheeks become beet red. Theo and I might not have mated yet, but it still makes me feel shy to hear my mom talking about grandchildren.
“I will visit you too.”
“That’s good, goodbye dear, I love you,” She says, hugging me
“Goodbye mom, I love you too,” I say, hugging her back. Once I release her, she walks into the car she ordered to ride back to my old pack. It would have been amazing to have her around, but I understand why she does not want to stay. Ekaterina also left a few days ago. She waited for Theo to wake up before she left.
“Don’t worry, we will visit her a lot,” Theo says, with his arms around me. He kisses my forehead and walks us back to the house.
