Karina King glanced at Nora Cole pretending to know nothing and said, “No comments.”
Jonathan Blake was speechless.
Then she drew Nora’s clothes and said, “Easy, don’t take so much.”
Taking a sip of her beer, Nora murmured, “No worries, just a sip. Who will be the singer?”
Karina forced the microphone to Jonathan and said, “Go ahead. I’ll play cards for a while.”
Jonathan is talented in singing owing to his fine timbre, his supreme breathing skill as well as his sentimental touch. He sounds like a real singer in Nora’s mind.
Halfway through the song, Nora had already taken two cans of beer, and then she stood up, “We run out of beer. I’ll get some from Mr. Ni.”
Seeing she was tipsy, Jonathan immediately grabbed her, “Forget it. Let me manage it, OK?”
“No way, you can’t do it.”
Karina dropped the dice and clapped, “Jonathan, be her company please. Don’t talk too much, otherwise Mr. Ni would blame.”
They left the private room and headed for the elevator. Jonathan stared at Nora who flushed slightly and frowned, “My dear, save it. You are drunk, aren’t you?”
Nora raised her eye bow, “No, definitely i am not.” She straightened her back, “Look I’m totally fine.”
Jonathan had a facepalm, “Fine, up to you.”
They got out of the elevator. Nora followed Jonathan and took a turning. Before she reached the reception, she heard a bubbly girl begging, “Kingsley, sweetheart, long time no see. Come on, my friends are waiting for us upstairs, hurry.”
When Nora found out who was the man clinging to the girl, she felt awkward and immediately glided towards Jonathan for swift shield, “Cover me,” she muffled her voice.
Jonathan paused in the middle of the way and covered Nora till the moment it sounded they had already stepped into the elevator. Nora poked like a kitty and asked him, “Have they left yet?”
“They have just moved into the elevator.”
Now Nora was relieved.
Jonathan frowned, “You know those two, right?”
Nora didn’t know how to explain that, so she said, “Not really, they are annoying so I’d rather not see them.”
She believed that the man was Kingsley Baxter, and the girl by his side was unseen. But she did slip away like a coward when spotting her sweetheart hanging out with another woman.
Nora was overwhelmed so she started to booze herself after returning to the venue. Karina can’t stand such situation. She kept Nora’s hand away from her beer and said, “Nora, do not act like a coward, go and talk to him, it doesn’t make sense to binge-drink over here.”
“Karina, I know but…”
Karina was furious and blamed her, “You coward.”
Nora calmed down on a couch for a while, “You know i am such a coward. Forget it, let me feed myself up.”
Karina was speechless.
Donald and Lina addressed by Jonathan to the party were his crew fellows, who were outstanding party animals. They were singing hyper songs beating people’s nerves. Nora was having fun while drinking.
Whilst Donald and Lina were singing and dancing madly on the table, all in a sudden, the door of the room was crushed by a kick. A young man wearing a cap yelled, “Hey, we have already chartered this venue. Pack up your stuff. Get out of here right away, thanks.”
Karina could swear that she’d have never ever been thru this situation, because she was the boss that nobody dared to piss her off from her young age. She stood up angrily and walked towards the guy, “What the hell? Who is this? Don’t you dare to yell? Do you know where you are acting up?”
The grumpy young man seems worldly and boldly. He pointed at the entrance and responded, “No idea, i don’t wanna know either, but we own this place from right now. Leave it or remain still i will call up guards.”
Karina argued, “Fine, go ahead.”
“What, are you insane?”
Karina stared at him relentlessly and said, “Excuse me.”
The man was a bit frightened by her gaze.
Nora was having a bit hangover. When she wanna got up from the couch she heard that Karina was screaming.
The young guy seemed to force her to fall down backwards. Luckily Jonathan was there to save her, and then he gave him a punch. The venue began to mess up.
Nora tried to stand up and stumbled to the entrance while holding a bottle, “Karina, what happened?”
Karina forced her backward to the room, “Listen up. Nora, please stay inside. I will wrap things up.”
There was no doubt that Jonathan was born to tackle problems like what they were encountering right now. He fought against two persons without fear. But obviously it seemed hard for him to hang on. Nora clinged to the door and tried to wake up. Noisy surrounding made her dizzy. At the moment she saw a kick stamped on Jonathan, she instinctively dashed the bottle towards the bully.
Elson heard about the fight and showed up immediately. The chaos was out of his control in fact. There were spots of blood on the floor. The man wearing a cap lay on the floor groaned louder. Nora was overwhelmed about the messup. She turned to Kirina sadly, “Kirina… I…”
Kirina pampered her shoulder and covered her, “Come on. Not a big deal. A person was just knocked down.”
Elson fell into a tangling situation, for either side was hardly to piss off in his mind. He helped out the man off the floor and said, “I would like to afford your medical expenses. Please proceed to hospital as soon as possible. Everyone, that is all for today. Please do me a favor. Okay? ” His words just ended up with an elegant feminine voice, “No way. Whoever put down my fellow should pay for the price.”
Through the dim lighting, Nora still can tell who was speaking.
Rosaline Woods.
It has been a long time not seeing her. She seemed more mature than before. She wore a white dress and posed inoffensive.
Rosaline walked in and gazed at Nora and her friends in a detached manner, “Who did?”
Kirina grasped the hand of Nora in order to remind her not admitting to that. She stepped forward and posed her gesture on her high-heel. Her 1. 7-meter-height was overwhelming in front of Rosaline. She argued, “Actually your friends have hurt my friends. What are you gonna say.”
Jonathan touched his belly at once and complained “Ouch, bloody pain.”
As a person to make a living in the crew for a long time, his acting skills proved to be awesome.
“Not saying anything? Then let us meet up in the police station.” Rosaline threatened to call the policeman and she was dialing her cellphone. Elson got sweaty and nervous because he was not willing to screw this up because neither of parties can be pissed off, not even mentioning police.
Therefore, he hurried to make a begging at Rosaline while pulling her sleeves, “Miss Woods, I am begging you, please. Let us tackle this issue in person, okay?”
“No way, they assaulted my friend. It is impossible to solve it without policeman.” Kirina felt anxious and assume that she was unlikely to settle this in a nice way.
Nora pulled her sleeves and stepped forward. Before her further responding, she was interrupted by a man who spoke in a calming low-key manner, “Rosaline, what happened?”
Until Nora can tell who this was, it was too late to get a cover for her again.
