Right before the string of her nerve was about to break, Nora pushed him away abruptly and yelled out, “Vivienne is outside, how can you leave her alone?”
Above her head at this moment, there must be a soft halo, which was called the Virgin Mary.
Who else would give her own husband away to other women anyway!
Nora’s lips shut tight and stared at Kingsley’s handsome but indifferent face, saying every single word clearly, “I came here with Karina, and I DID NOT stalk you.”
Kingsley sneered, “Is that so?”
Nora stayed silent for a moment, and under Kingsley’s emotionless gaze, she finally said, “I am leaving now.”
Without hesitation, she opened the door and walked out fast, but the man grabbed her wrist before she could take her second step.
Kingsley’s voice was faint, “I’ll let someone drive you home.”
Nora shook her head, struggling to free herself, but the man’s grip got even tighter.
“Nora!” A deep voice with strong dissatisfaction rang out above her head, “You’d better be obedient!”
Being obedient meant that you had to do whatever the boss told you to do!
She raised her eyes and encountered Kingsley’s unfathomable eyes.
Then, she surrendered.
Kingsley loosened his grip and walked across the corridor to the elevator. A flirtatious voice rang out as soon as he pressed the button, “Kingsley, the party is about to start, where are you going?”
Nora immediately turned around when she heard the voice, and an impeccably bright face came into her view.
Vivienne’s eyes landed on Kingsley, with a deliberately gentle smile on her face, “The director was looking for you!”
Kingsley nodded, “I am busy now. I’ll be there later.”
The elevator door opened. He stepped in while glancing at Nora sharply.
Nora looked away from the gorgeous actress and hurriedly followed into the elevator.
Before the elevator door closed entirely, Nora caught a glimpse of Vivienne’s resentful expression.
She curled her lips and asked Kingsley, “Is it alright to leave Miss Hall alone?”
Kingsley just ignored her.
Nora bit her lip, “She doesn’t seem happy, do you…”
Before she finished talking, the man stared at her in the face. Kingsley put one hand on her right side and narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Why do you care so much about her? You like her?”
Nora didn’t know how to answer.
When the elevator reached the first floor, the greeter quickly came to Kingsley and bowed respectfully, “What can I do for you, boss?”
Kingsley pointed at Nora, “Take her home.” Then he warned Nora, “Stay at home and don’t run around, or I will not spare you!”
The greeter was Louis, Kingsley’s assistant. He had met Nora once and knew how she became Mrs. Baxter. Therefore, he had always treated her with a scornful attitude.
He nodded, “No problem, boss.”
Although he didn’t like this Mrs. Baxter in his heart, he still needed to be polite, so he turned to Nora with a smile, “Madam, please get in the car, I’ll drive you home.”
Nora took a look at him and Kingsley.
Originally, she was about to ask when would Kingsley be back.
But the man’s expression was emotionless. He barely paid attention to her, as if she did not exist in his eyes.
So in the end, she lowered her eyes and swallowed her words back.
Nora was left staring after the man, which seemed so aloof.
Suddenly a sadness beyond expression emerged in her heart. Her brain stopped thinking logically, and she said, “Wait… Wait!”
