Nora’s forehead was covered in sweat and she was in pain. She grabbed the sheets under her body with her fingers. After hearing what he said, she moved her lips, hoping to explain but found herself too exhausted to say a word.
She didn’t plan the unpleasant mistake at all. She was a victim too. She just threatened Kingsley and made him marry her afterwards, because her mother, who was sent to the ICU, was in desperate need of money. And another reason was…she liked him!

Even though she didn’t want to face the man at all, she needed to have some breakfast. So she strolled to the table expressionlessly, pulling the chair silently, picking up a piece of bread and spread some jam on it.
The two of them were amazingly quiet. The atmosphere was filled with wired tranquility.
As Nora’s cellphone tinkled, the prompt tone feels rather inappropriate under a quiet circumstance like this.
Kingsley, sitting across her, looked at her with a little bit annoyance on his face, probably disturbed by the noise.
Nora grabbed her cellphone from the dining table hastily, “Sorry, I forgot to mute my phone.”
It was a message from her best friend Karina King, “Nora, don’t forget the ball tonight! Throw on something cute and I’ll take you to meet some hot guys.”
Nora sneaked at the gorgeous man sitting across her. She pursed her lips and replied: “Kingsley is home. Probably can’t go out tonight.”
Another notification popped up on her cellphone when she finished replying the message.

She bowed her head, staring at the photos and lost in her thoughts.
“What are you looking at?” She heard his voice all of a sudden.
Nora raised her eyes, pretending to be calm and smiled at him. She put down her cellphone to drink some milk when suddenly heard him saying, “It’s very impressive that you can recognize me from such blur photos.”
