Chapter 58
Kelly and Lily finally left the pack together. After everything that had happened, their parents were tired and there was no one to stop them.
Melissa was only filled with regret as she looked at her daughter. She was partly to blame for everything that had happened. If she has not pushed her daughter, maybe it would have turned out well.
The happiest person was probably Kelly. He did not imagine that he managed to get the woman of his dreams.
He did not know when it started, but for a long time, Lily had become her only source of joy. Every time he saw her, he would feel happy and blissful.
Lily on the other hand was moving around robotically. She could not imagine that her relationship with Mark has come to an end just like that! Although she had found herself another alpha, the feeling was not the same.

“Son please open the door. Everything happens for a reason, and I am sure that wherever Maya is, she won’t be happy to see you like this!” Marcela shouted outside the door.
Since that day, Mark had locked himself in his room and no matter what they did, he did not come out.
Suddenly, footsteps sounded in the room and the door was opened, revealing a pale-faced Mark.
Marcela felt heartbroken upon seeing her son that she immediately drew him into a tight embrace.
“I’m sorry son. I did not notice that you have been going through a lot. We were selfish and did not care about your happiness, please forgive mommy and daddy!” Marcela said in between sobs.
Mark could not take in anymore and burst into tears. He never knew that he could cry so much as a man.
After a long time, the two calmed down and Mark led her mom to sit on the sofa in his room.
“Mom I have something to ask, please answer me honestly,” Mark said with a serious face.
“Did you ever care about Maya? I mean when I saved her, you were overly excited and even said that you will take her in as your daughter. I was so delighted to have a little sister, but not long after you sent her to Lily’s family.”
“I remember you saying that since her background was unknown, it was better if you stayed with your beta for some time. But the more I spent time with her, the more I liked her and we started dating. You guys never opposed the idea of us being together, you even said that you will give us our blessings!”
“Many years had passed since Maya came to us, we had all let our guard down because we knew she was not a threat to us! But mom, what happened to the five years that I was away? Not only was Maya made a slave, but you sat on the sidelines and watched lily mistreat her!”
“Were your affections at the beginning all fake? Were you only doing that to placate me? Did you think that I had no common sense?”
“I had thought that the reason you sent it to Lily’s family was so that our relationship would not be complicated in the future. I thought that you knew how much I liked her, mom, how could you do this to your son?”
Mark was never an emotional person, but today, he could not help it.
Every good memory he shared with Maya kept on repeating in his mind. He was a jerk! A big gigantic jerk!
The day he found her being abused, not only did he not do something about it, he even went to be with Lily, leaving her alone without someone to take care of her!
He knew that he was the only person she had as a family, but not only did he fail to protect her, but also hurt her again and again.
What right did he have to miss her? Mark slapped himself in the face and soon his face became swollen. But it did not take long before it healed. The pain he felt from slapping himself did not even amount to the pain he felt in his heart.

At the ash band pack….
After Kelly returned, he immediately marked Lily as his mate without wasting time. He was afraid that she might run away because, over the past few days, she has been in a daze as it seemed like her soul had left her.
Kelly did not dare to delay. His battle with Matthew was also happening in a few days. He had been training even harder with each passing day.
They had agreed that it will be single combat and they will be fighting to the death since they did not want too much bloodshed and they did not want to implicate the innocent.
Kelly did not dare bet on the help of his pack warriors because he did not know how many were willing to go crazy with him! So he could only rely on himself.
“What is it?” Kelly looked at the anxious Kevin and asked with a frown.
“Alpha I have some bad news!”
“Shoot!”
“Ashton is alive!” Kevin said.
“So?” Kelly reacted like he did not care much.
“He has a new pack!”
“What is the bad news? If you have nothing to say, stop wasting my time!” Kelly said with some impatience in his voice.
“Aren’t you afraid that he will be coming for you?” Kevin asked, not understanding where the confidence of this young man came from.
“I defeated him once, it won’t be hard to defeat him a second time!” Kelly said arrogantly.
“You think that your underhanded method will work on him again?”
“Why not? And who said that my brother is coming for me? Haven’t you said that he has a new pack? Why would he care about small fries like us?”
“Kelly, can you stop being arrogant and just listen?”
“Whose side are you on? If you want to follow my brother, go ahead, I won’t stop you, but please stop whispering his name in my ears, it is disgusting.” Kelly said and walked away.
He had a beautiful wife waiting for him, why would he waste his time listening to this old man’s nagging?
Kelly rushed to the house his mood excited. But when he pushed the door open, he found no one in the room. He was used to coming and finding lily sitting or lying on the bed in a daze. Although her mind seemed to always be somewhere else, to Kelly, she was still the most beautiful woman in his eyes.
But today, the room was empty. Even after checking the bathroom and everything, the room was still empty.
Fear rose in his heart as he started to panic.
“Kevin!” He shouted. Although Kevin’s bones were already so old from all the miseries that Kelly had put him through, he still rushed out at a lightning speed when he heard his call.
“Yes alpha!”
“Where the hell is your luna?” Kelly asked.
“Is she not in your room alpha?” Kevin asked, a little fearful at his alpha’s enraged voice.
“If she was in the room, would I be asking you? I told you to take care of her but all you care about is meaningless gossip, if something happens to her, I won’t let you off, I promise.” We that, Kelly dashed outside the house, following lily’s scent, he ran towards the woods.
It wasn’t long before Kelly found her in the woods. She was squatting down and she looked very miserable.
Kelly immediately drew her into his embrace, hugging her gently.
“Darling, what are you doing here alone?” Kelly asked gently.
“Mark…” Lily uttered in a daze. Kelly was displeased. He took hold of her shoulders and made her look him in the eyes.
“Which part of me looks like that bastard?” Kelly asked in an angry voice. He felt his blood surge and he was itching for violence.
It had been such a long time and yet she was still dazed because of that man?
“Lily wake up, I am not your lovely Mark, I am kelly!” Kelly used all the will he had to keep his temper in check.
“He is not your mate or your alpha anymore! And don’t try to play with me, I’m not one with a good temper and I don’t know what I am capable of doing once I get pissed off!”
But it seemed that the woman refused to listen to him as she continued to utter the name of Mark.
“Woman, don’t go beyond your limits!”
“I am sorry Mark. I did not intend to cheat on you. I have always loved you and I will always will. It is just I felt so heart broke when you stopped paying any attention. You did not love me and I just wanted to teach a lesson. I never imagined that things will pan out this way. Please I am so sorry!” Lily sobbed.
Kelly did not even want to be angry anymore. He only hugged her and patted her back in a comforting way.
Lily cried and passed out and it was only then, did he carry in his arms and brought her to his room.
He quickly summoned the pack healers to come and check on her.
He had never known that one day, he will be so patient with a girl and he will even forget himself.
