He drops his head on my shoulder and I could feel the bridge of his nose disturbing the skin of my neck.
Alright. This is too big for me to grab.
What’s happening?
I stood there, not knowing how to react.
Should i reciprocate his hug?
No, no.
I exhaled heavily.
By the way, why is his breathing abnormal?
“John..?”I touched his neck slowly to raise his head up but I took my hand back immediately.
Is he experiencing a fever?
Why is he so hot?!
He breathe out hot air while adjusting his head on my shoulder.
Okay.. what do I do?
“John.”I tapped his back gently.
“Let’s take you in.”
He lifted his head up with a nod.
“Can.. you walk on your own?”I inquired.
He shook his head negatively.
I wrapped my right hand around his body to support him as we moved away from the balcony.
“Where is your room?”
“The second one.”
I moved him to his room and made him lay down on the bed.
I covered him up with the duvet.
“I will go get some water.”I said before dashing out.
I came back with a bowl of water.
I looked around for a towel I could use to press the cold water on his face and luckily, i found one lying on the couch.
I sat beside him and dipped the towel inside the water and brought it out after a while and squeezed water out of it then folded it.
I placed it gently on his forehead for some moment.
His eyes were closed and his cheeks were flushed.
Is he lonely just as his mother had said?
Being lonely is not related to catching a fever.
But, who cares if he is lonely?
This marriage is a fake anyways.
And, he also left me back there for a whole month.
He should have, at least, show up even if it’s for once in those weeks.
Pft!
“I know I’m handsome but stop staring at me, the cloth is no longer cold.”he breathed out with his eyes still shut.
I nipped at my bottom lip in embarrassment and took the cloth slowly from his head.
I did the same routine I’d done previously and put the towel back on his forehead again.
“Don’t you think we should call a doc?. What if it develop into something bigger?”I worried.
“I’ll be fine.”he turned to the other side slightly.
“Do you need anything?”
“No.”
I took my lips in as I watched him.
I took the towel from his forehead again and did the same process for the third time.
I did it for the fourth time and stood up since I could see he’s asleep.
I carried the water and made a spun around to leave but a hand grabbed my wrist.
Hmmm?
I turned my head sideways.
“Don’t leave me.”
“I’m.. not leaving, just going to drop the bowl in the kitchen.”
“Don’t go anywhere tonight. Stay in here with me. Beside me.”
My heart panted heavily.
Beside him?
Then, he dragged me down to his side by my hand.
Oh, God.
I felt cold shivers ran down my spine as his hand came around my waist.

Aysel’s pov.
I walked inside the queen’s quarter after she’d told me to come in.
For a moment, I almost develop cold feet.
But, I have to do this.
Time is not on my side anymore.
Last night, I was almost murdered by Kelvin.
I knew Juliet was the one that lets him in.
She has been restless ever since Ralph came here.
I presumed she has found me out.
“What do you want?”was the first thing she asked when I got to her desk.
She sipped out of her tea elegantly while sending me a scorn look.
“I am here to report myself, and others.”I said straightforwardly.
She isn’t the type that likes the beating around the bush game.
“Report yourself?”she asked gently and placed her tea down on its plate.
“I’m all ears.”she smirks.
I paused for a while.
Does she knows something?
Irregardless, I pushed my speech forward.
“I am part of the team that switched your baby with another.”I said.
She doesn’t look shock either.
Just how much did she know?
“Heaven knows how long I’ve been waiting for this. So?, you mentioned about others.”
“Your baby was a boy and not a girl. The boss, Kelvin, and your so called daughter are in this altogether and they intend to make me take the fall for all of this.”
I watched as her eyes wandered about in puzzlement.
“Last night, I almost got killed..”I said and showed her the red mark on my neck.
“I got this while struggling to survive.”I closed the spot back with my dress.
“I have another evidence to give to you. It’s about your true child. He is..”
..
Her mouth almost tore apart when she heard that.
Her eyes were fully widened.
*
Ralph’s pov.
“Hey.”Snow came to me as we were rounding things up in the office before we head home.
I rolled my eyes.
“Don’t *hey* me.”I scoffed.
“I’m, sorry. I didn’t mean.. damn it! Just take this, alright?”he scattered my hair playfully.
My brows creased up in a frown.
“You don’t do that. I’m older than you, you know?”I flared up.
“Hm. Is that true?. I think I’m the oldest one here. So, henceforth, you should call me Elder Duvall.”Duvall played with his chin.
“Never!”I and Snow chorused as we directed hard gazes towards him.
“Hey, hey, fellas. That… was a joke. Don’t send me six feet under with those looks.”he retreated.
“I don’t care whatever you two have to say, but I’m sure the eldest.”I bragged.
“Dream on.”Snow scoffed.
“What?, if you’re doubting me, why not go ask uncle?.”I said.
“We are the same age. We were born in the same year, isn’t that right?”he turns to Duvall, who nodded with his lips pressed together.
“But, different months. We were not born in the same month so, in terms of that, I’m the oldest one here. So, guys, call me Eldie Ralph.”I winked at them.
The door sprawled open before they could utter anything and a man dressed in black cloths step in.
Huh?
“Who are you?. We are close for work.”Duvall said.
“How did he even get in?, where was the secretary?”Snow added with a scoff.
But, for some strange reason, the man’s aura gave a bad feeling.
He turned to us with a surly grin.
“I am the death messenger.”
And before we could process anything, we were already down, with darkness all over.
