Chapter 874: Aren’t you tired?

Book:Married To The Most Powerful Man Published:2024-5-1

After what happened last night…
His first reaction upon regaining consciousness was to reach out his hand to her. When those dark eyes opened, and there was no sign of Alice.
Kennedy quickly lifted the sheets and sat up, only to find the sheets and comforter crumpled beyond recognition. After calling out Alice’s name and receiving no response, he got up, dressed and searched the room for her.
It turned out that the house was quiet and there was no Alice in sight.
Kennedy sat on the edge of the bed, the sound of her breathing alone all around her, and if it hadn’t been for those marks on the sheets, Kennedy would have wondered if what had happened last night was real or not.
After a few moments of silence, Kennedy pulls out her cell phone and calls Alice.
One, two, three…
The end is followed by a polite but icy female voice.
-We’re sorry, the number you have reached is temporarily unanswered, please try again later.
Kennedy frowned and his fingers continued to dial the phone, but the call was never answered. Her brow furrowed as she squeezed the phone tighter.
Could it be that she regretted what happened last night?
So she went out early in the morning at this time and didn’t even answer her phone?
As soon as she realized this, Kennedy immediately got up to leave, passing the bathroom, but Kennedy’s footsteps stopped.
Then he glanced out of the corner of his eye and saw that the clothes they had changed into the night before had been packed and put in the washing machine, only presumably the machine was not yet running because he was afraid of disturbing him in the morning.
Watching this scene, Kennedy thought a little again.
If she regretted it, then she should have stopped doing this and just packed up and left.
Kennedy stood watching silently for a while and then went back into the house to find Alice’s suitcase and everything else except her cell phone and purse gone.
It should be a way out of the house to do something.
Kennedy figured that if she hadn’t answered her phone, the cell phone must have been on silent, or maybe there was too much noise outside to hear it.
He consoled himself with the fact that it all seemed logical enough.
But as soon as he closed his eyes and thought about the images of last night and Kennedy he felt again that he shouldn’t have to, he couldn’t control himself just because she told him she was worried about him and wanted to help him….
Obviously the two of them had only been together for a short time, together actually because he was high….
The more he thought about it, the more Kennedy felt sorry for her.
If he got angry, it would be normal for her to flee….
After a few moments of silence, Kennedy couldn’t sit idly by and called someone to find out where Alice was.
Soon the community surveillance video was moved to Kennedy’s mailbox and he opened it to take a look.
Alice was found to be in her usual state and face when she came out, and nothing different could be seen, except the odd posture she had when walking.
Kennedy’s eyes clouded and his throat moved as he remembered his own ferocity of the night before and the scene of her telling him to relax.
The taste of her…
Indeed, it was as good as he thought it would be.
Even though he himself was high at the time, Kennedy knew that, even without the drug, he probably would have reacted the same way when confronted with her.
She answered the phone and by the looks of her, she should have just walked out.
After that, she received a message that she had gone out with Rachel.
Kennedy paused for a moment when he heard Rachel’s name, wasn’t that his aunt?
-Sir, Mrs. Alice has gone out with Mrs. Rachel?
-All right,” Kennedy interrupted, “I’ve got it.
Since she went out with Raquel, there shouldn’t be any problem. Anyway, she was a girl, and with the kind of things that happened last night, maybe she wanted to ask someone close to her about it.
Kennedy did not press the matter further, and the man who had been investigating could only swallow the comment that they had both gone to the hospital.
Probably distressed, Kennedy dialed Alice’s cell phone over and over again.
Finally she answered the phone.
Only after hearing that Alice’s voice was as normal did Kennedy finally exhale a sigh.
*
Alice popped into the nearby supermarket and bought a few light everyday items before heading home.
She hadn’t expected Kennedy to come pick her up himself when she left the supermarket.
He stepped forward to take the bag from her hands and said in a gravelly voice, -Why did you run out without saying hello?
There was nothing wrong with the man’s appearance with his gray coat, thin pursed lips and deep-set eyes.
Well, he was all right now.
His appearance last night was really frightening.
Alice took his hand naturally, -I saw that you were still asleep, so I dared not disturb you.
Hearing this, Kennedy narrowed his eyes slightly and asked in a deep voice, “Aren’t you tired? Last night…
The last half of the sentence he couldn’t get out because Alice suddenly blushed and interrupted him, -Stop it.
Last night…
It was for real…
The tips of Alice’s ears began to blush again at the thought of him forcing himself to take the initiative.
Seeing her face, Kennedy’s heartfelt concern disappeared in an instant, replaced only by the girl’s flushed face.
This scene…
Kennedy’s eyes were bright, the lump in his throat rising and falling as he restrained himself from looking away, his large palm squeezing her tender little white hand, he said in his husky voice, -Okay, I won’t say anything.
She thought he had been honest, but he went on, -I can use my action to do that.
Alice could not answer him.
The redness that had only been at the tips of her ears and cheeks had now spread to her neck, and Alice was pinching his palm hard.
She didn’t know if it hurt to pinch him that way, only that Kennedy’s eyes were filled with a fond smile, and the tall man stood beside her with that look as if he were an adult cajoling his daughter.
After a moment, Alice withdrew her hand, remembering the doctor’s advice from earlier in the hospital, and whispered, -You can’t do that in the future ….
The baby in her womb was not yet three months old, and she didn’t know what would happen if it happened again like last night.
Although this time it was fine, it was already showing signs of miscarriage.
Still, the blood was truly shocking.
Oblivious to her inner thoughts, Kennedy heard her say this and thought she was scared because of the way she had looked the night before and just laughed.
-Next time… I’ll be gentle.
