Chapter 842: Threats

Book:Married To The Most Powerful Man Published:2024-5-1

Everyone present was taken aback by Alice’s comment.
Even the bodyguards standing in the corner of the room, dressed in suits, looked at Alice with disbelieving eyes, their faces pale.
This girl was a bold one and was probably going to make Mr. George angry with such an absurd request. Then everyone present looked at Mr. George.
Jorge was really furious about his comment, his face was full of anger and he pointed his finger at Alice,
-What did you just say? Don’t you dare say that again.
Alice sketched a sweet smile, -Grandfather, a moment ago you said you could grant all my requests, isn’t Kennedy as important to you as the Carlos family? In that case, I’m not going to break with him, after all, for me, even if he gave me the family and begged me to leave him, I wouldn’t do it.
Jorge was surprised by what Alice said, he did not expect her not to leave Kennedy even if he gave her the Carlos family in exchange.
But were Alice’s words true?
-In any case, whether you accept this check or not, I will not agree to your absurd request, and if you think the money I gave you is not enough, I can give you more, but you will leave when you have my money!
Alice stood still, she had been explaining herself to Jorge for so long that she suddenly felt a little tired. Alice wondered how long it would be before Kennedy arrived. Since Jorge was Kennedy’s grandfather, Alice was reluctant to abuse him with abject language, but she was tired of the verbal circumlocution. And it was obvious that Jorge was not joking with her.
Alice sighed inwardly and said in a serious, grave tone,
-Grandpa Jorge, whatever you want in return, I’m not leaving Kennedy.
Hearing what Alice said, George narrowed his eyes and glared at her,
-I didn’t think you would do things this way.
At those words, Alice locked her eyes on Jorge’s nervously and thought to herself, “Is Jorge going to show his hand? Isn’t he having fun with her anymore?”
In that case, Alice was also going to say what she really thought. But no sooner had the thought occurred to Alice than she heard a man at the door speak,
-Grandfather, why are you giving her such a hard time?
Hearing this familiar, gravelly voice, Alice instantly brightened up and jerked her head back toward the door.
Kennedy was standing in the doorway of the secretary’s office, dressed in a simple suit, from which radiated a quiet hormone. He scanned the secretary’s office with icy eyes before approaching Alice, who was about to shout his name when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her back,
-I’m the one who’s been courting her, Grandpa, and if you have to blame anyone else, please blame me.
Kennedy’s sudden appearance made George’s anger burn even hotter and he looked with dismay at Kennedy and Alice behind him and said,
-It’s not time for you to go to work yet, did you come for this woman earlier? Did she call you while I was making tea?
Alice, who was behind Kennedy, felt aggrieved because during that time she had really only gone to make tea in earnest and had done nothing else. For Alice was not the sort of woman who merely sought her husband’s help when she was in trouble.
After all, the matter was too complicated, and one of the reasons was that she did not want to involve Kennedy in it, because what she and Mr. Jorge knew, Kennedy might not know. Another reason was that Mr. Jorge already disliked her, and if she called Kennedy for help, surely Jorge’s impression of her would be even worse. So, whatever difficulties Alice had encountered in this office this morning, she would not have called Kennedy.
But why had Kennedy come so soon?
-Grandfather, Alice is not such a frail girl.” Just as Alice wondered, Kennedy explained,
-I had guessed you were coming to the office, I didn’t see you this morning so I guessed you might have come to the office, and to my surprise, I was right.
George was a little embarrassed by Kennedy’s blunt assertion of the truth, but still replied angrily,
-So what? What did you tell me about what I told you last night? Have you forgotten? There are things you don’t want to do, so I, as your grandfather, have the right to do them for you.
Kennedy heard these words and felt nothing but a headache,
-Grandfather, please come back! I will handle this matter myself.
-How do you want to handle it? -George looked at Alice with a very unfriendly face, -Your way of dealing with it is to keep keeping this woman here?
Kennedy’s face was expressionless,
-She is an employee of the company, of course she stays here.
Jorge did not get the answer he wanted and shouted angrily,
-You know what you are doing? Have you forgotten what I told you? You must fire her immediately.
As soon as Kennedy appeared, Jorge’s emotions seemed to get out of control and Alice became a little worried as she listened to the argument between the two of them. After all, Jorge was Kennedy’s grandfather and had saved her life in the first place; Alice was grateful to Jorge and had quite a bit of respect for him.
Then Alice tugged on Kennedy’s sleeve and Kennedy, sensing her gesture, curbed his temper and looked at Jorge,
-Grandfather, Alice is an employee of the company and I will decide myself whether to fire her. If you think my decisions are bad for the company, then you can take back the rights I have over the company.
Kennedy’s words left Jorge unsure how to respond.
-What are you saying?
Kennedy grabbed Alice’s wrist.
-Since you don’t want to see Alice, I’ll take her now.
With that, Kennedy grabbed Alice and walked out of the secretary’s office.
-Stop right there! -Jorge shouted, but Kennedy was gone so fast that they had disappeared out the door.
Dylan walked up to the door, looked at it and said, -Mr. Kennedy should have taken the girl to his own office.”
Jorge was even more annoyed to hear the response.
-How could he do such a thing?
-Since he doesn’t want to see the girl, Mr. Kennedy will have to take her away.
-Dylan, I did all these things for him. But he wouldn’t even accept my kindness and did all those disobedient things to me. And what he just said was a threat to me? Have I no more heir than he?
Dylan nodded sincerely,
-It is so, sir. It is true that you have no heir but Kennedy.
Why else would George have put so much effort into keeping Kennedy by his side? Before Kennedy arrived, Jorge had taken care of all the affairs of the Carlos Group on his own, and trusted no one, not even his own relatives.
Jorge did not know what to answer.
