‘It’s Cristofer!’ Estelle thought. She quickly opened her eyes and then saw Cristofer, who was all in black and wearing a dark gray helmet. Without hesitation, Cristofer picked both Estelle and Christina up and then settled them on the motorcycle’s seat.
“Hahaha! Mr. Klein is right. As long as we attacked Estelle, this man would appear!”
“Cut the crap. Let’s catch them!” Jerry growled.
Jerry and Carl then took out their knives from their pockets and rushed toward Cristofer. When Jerry tried to stab Cristofer with his knife, Cristofer quickly stepped back and dodged it.
At the same time, Carl stepped forward to stab him hard in the neck. Cristofer reacted quickly and tilted his head, but the edge of the knife still scratched his neck, and small beads of blood oozed out of the wound.
Regardless of the pain in his neck, he quickly got on the motorcycle, started the engine, and left with Estelle and Christina. The motorcycle ran at full speed, and they were out of sight in the blink of an eye.
Holding Christina in her arms, Estelle could feel that the wind was becoming colder and stronger.
“Where are we going now?” she asked.
“The top of Mount Cloud. There is no surveillance camera, and they can’t find us,” Cristofer said loudly.
Since he was wearing a helmet, his voice sounded muffled, and Estelle didn’t hear what he had said clearly. But when she looked around and saw the familiar road and scenery, she knew where they were heading to.
After a while, the motorcycle entered the steep and twisting mountain road.
“You… Slow down…” Estelle said nervously as her heart beat fast.
Maybe it was because the helmet was too thick or the wind was too strong that Cristofer didn’t hear her and kept riding the motorcycle at a fast speed.
‘Fortunately, the weather is good today. If it rains, it would be dangerous for Cristofer to ride a motorcycle on the mountain road,’ Estelle thought.
Soon, they arrived at the top of the mountain, and Cristofer stopped the motorcycle. Estelle then jumped off the motorcycle with Christina in her arms.
The sun was shining brightly. When Estelle was about to take Christina to the shade of the banyan tree, Christina broke free from her arms and walked straight to Cristofer, tilting her head to look at him.
After Cristofer took off his helmet, he casually hung it on the handle of his motorcycle and then saw Christina, who was staring at him. Unlike Yvonne, who had a round face and looked chubby and lovely, Christina had a pointed face, looking like a little fox.
“You are Christina, right?” Cristofer asked gently.
Christina didn’t answer him. Instead, she gave him a long, searching look and then said disappointedly, “You are not him.”
“What?” Cristofer was puzzled.
“You are not my Dad,” Christina said.
Hearing this, Cristofer looked at Estelle, wondering if she had told Christina about her real father. Estelle then walked over and took Christina’s hand, saying, “This is Uncle Cristofer. He is Yohan and Yvonne’s Dad.”
“Mom, don’t I have the same dad as them?” Christina turned to look at her and asked.
Estelle didn’t know how to explain this to her.
“If you don’t mind, you can also call me Dad,” Cristofer suggested.
“No, I won’t call you Dad. You are not my Dad,” Christina said bluntly.
Frowning slightly, Cristofer said to Estelle, “She has a bad temper.”
Estelle immediately defended Christina’s behavior, “She’s sick and sometimes would overreact. She wasn’t like this before.”
Cristofer nodded to show his understanding and didn’t say anything else. Then he gently touched the wound on his neck with his finger and found that part of the wound had scabbed and part of it was still bleeding.
Seeing this, Estelle asked with concern, “Are you okay? Does it hurt?”
“It hurt a little. But it doesn’t matter. The slight pain is nothing compared to the pain caused by the old wound on my arm.”
“How… How did you know I was at that restaurant?” Estelle asked and looked at him. “Did you follow me?”
Cristofer didn’t deny it. “I felt something was wrong with Dr. Carrey, so I followed you.”
“Dr. Carrey? What’s wrong with him?”
“I don’t know. Just a hunch,” Cristofer said with displeasure, “Does he look like Mr. Mysterious?”
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Estelle looked away to avoid his gaze. “Dr. Carrey is an expert specializing in liver disease. I had lunch with him because I wanted to consult him about Christina’s surgery. It has nothing to do with Mr. Mysterious.”
“If that’s the case, why don’t you dare to look into my eyes?” Cristofer asked.
With a sullen look, Estelle raised her head and looked straight into his eyes. “Now, I’m looking into your eyes. Are you satisfied? Do you need me to repeat what I just said?”
“Estelle, I didn’t mean anything else…”
“Then what do you mean?” Estelle snapped, “You don’t have to regard Mr. Mysterious as an imaginary enemy. You are clear that it is for the sake of Grandpa Gary that we… Forget it. It’s meaningless to say this. You should know that the relationship between you and me is completely different from that between Mr. Mysterious and me.
“I know I can’t compare with Mr. Mysterious in your heart,” Cristofer suddenly said sadly.
Lowering her head, Estelle explained, “Let’s drop the topic. Um… This is the second time you have saved me. Thank you very much. By the way, Jimmy’s subordinates said that they have been looking for you recently. That’s why they followed me. You should be careful these days. Grandpa’s birthday party is coming soon. All the people in the upper class of Hadale will go to the party. It’s easy to hide the wound in your palm. But if someone sees the wound on your neck and tells Jimmy about it, Jimmy will know that you are the one who saved me in the clinic.”
Hearing this, Cristofer snorted and said, “Even if he knows that, he can’t do anything to me. I don’t need to be afraid of him.”
Cristofer looked at her the next moment and asked seriously, “Estelle, are you afraid of him?”
“I’m not afraid of him, either,” Estelle said firmly.
“What if he threatens you with the children in the future? Will you compromise if he kidnaps Yohan, Yvonne, or Christina and asks you to stay with him for one night?”
Estelle was stunned, not knowing what to say.
“Now, do you know why I’m not afraid of Jimmy, but I still can’t let him know I’m the one who saved you before? He can’t do anything to me directly, but once he knows you are my soft spot, he may tell those who want me to die about this. Then countless people will follow you daily and may hurt you anytime.”
