But Estelle was still very happy. Pointing the front-facing camera at the two of them and looking at their smiling faces, she pressed the photo button and recorded the moment.
“Okay, let’s go,” she pulled him.
Then the two of them headed to the airport.
As the breeze blew, the petals on the tires were blown off, and the fragrance of the flowers faded away.
It was dawn, and Estelle finally recognized where they were last night.
“Were we on the back of Mount Cloud?” she asked him.
“Yes,” Cristofer responded. His voice was not as hoarse as before. “People usually go up the mountain from the front of it. Few people go to the back of the mountain.”
“That tree must have been planted for many years, or it wouldn’t have grown so big and tall. The blooms on it look like a big cloud,” Estelle said, recalling the beautiful flowers.
Suddenly, she heard a harsh squeal of brakes, and her brain went blank momentarily.
The violent collision made the motorbike overturn. The two of them were thrown out and then fell heavily to the ground.
Although Estelle had been held tightly in Cristofer’s arm, she still felt a sharp pain all over.
Then she heard a deep voice coming from not far away. “Good morning, Miss Hudson.”
Lying on the ground and feeling extremely dizzy, Estelle vaguely saw an old man in a wheelchair.
Dressed in a dark red suit, the old man was gray-haired but looked hale and hearty.
“I didn’t expect that our first meeting would happen on such an occasion. I’m sorry about it,” he said.
Estelle closed her eyes and rested for a few seconds. When she opened her eyes, she felt less dizzy.
Mr. Mysterious…
She moved slightly and found that Mr. Mysterious was still holding her, and his face was covered with blood.
“Sir……Sir!”
Estelle tried to wake him up but froze when she touched his clothes.
At the moment, Cristofer’s T-shirt was soaked with warm and thick blood, and he was still bleeding.
Staring at the blood on her palm, Estelle was terrified and turned pale.
“Ambulance…” She wanted to call the ambulance.
But the next moment, her hope was distinguished because she saw that her phone, which was lying not far away, had been broken into pieces.
Seeing the old man in the wheelchair in front of her, she tried her best to climb over and asked him for help, “Sir, please call an ambulance for us. My husband is seriously injured!”
Compared to her, Nelson looked rather calm, and he asked slowly, “Miss Hudson, do you want to save him?”
“Of course!”
“Then do you know who I am?”
Hearing this, Estelle was stunned.
Trying to calm herself down, she looked at Nelson, who happened to appear here and looked around. Then she found that the black Lincoln limousine parked nearby was exactly the same car that Geoffrey was in when he came to her before.
Estelle instantly understood what had happened and asked with anxiety, “You are… Mr. Mysterious’ benefactor?”
“Benefactor?” Nelson repeated the word and then waved his hand dismissively, smiling, “You can say that. But my relationship with him is not as simple as you think. Miss Hudson, because of you, your Mr. Mysterious has become like this. You are too stubborn. I have warned you before, but you just wouldn’t listen to me. It’s too late for you to regret it now.”
Estelle bit her lower lip and said, “Could you at least save him first? He is badly injured…”
“Why should I?” Nelson sneered and said, “Even if I save him, he will betray me and secretly take you abroad. With his talent and ability, he could have become a legend in the business world.”
“But now he only wants to live a normal and boring life with you. I helped him before because I was full of expectations of him. I hoped that he could cheer himself up and be my successor. But now, he is undeserving of my help because he has become a stupid man blinded by ridiculous love.”
“So, you just decided to stand by and watch him die here?” Estelle said anxiously, “Don’t you care about him at all?! He is the heir you chose!”
Seeing Estelle so flustered, Nelson smiled and said, “Miss Hudson, I can save him. But… I have a requirement.”
Estelle had guessed what his requirement was, but she still asked, “What’s your requirement?”
Thinking that her question was ridiculous, Nelson said, “You already know it. Why did you ask me?”
Estelle was speechless.
“It’s about five o’clock. The plane is about to take off,” Nelson reminded her, “It doesn’t matter if you don’t leave him. I won’t urge you or force you to do it. Anyway, I’m not the one who will die of excessive loss of blood.”
Estelle felt terrible and shocked.
“Geoffrey!” Nelson called Geoffrey’s name.
Seeing Geoffrey open the car door and slowly get out of the car, Estelle was astonished.
Keeping his head down, Geoffrey tried to hide his face. What’s more, he was walking with the help of a walking stick, and one of his arms was in plaster. His head was swathed in bandages through which some blood had soaked.
“Uncle Nelson, what can I do for you?” Geoffrey asked in a low voice.
Without answering him, Nelson turned to Estelle and said, “Miss Hudson, are you curious about how he became like this? He betrayed me and lied to me, so I broke his arm and leg. Now, you should know how merciful I was to your Mr. Mysterious.”
Estelle raised her head to look at Geoffrey while Geoffrey frowned and turned his face away, not wanting her to see the injury on his face.
“Your Mr. Mysterious is so naive and stupid. He always reminds me of my previous self. I really don’t have the heart to see him die. Alas!” Nelson stated and sighed.
The blood kept running out onto the ground from Cristofer’s head.
Estelle reached out to touch him and was shocked when she found that his chest had turned icy cold.
Nelson then tipped a wink at Geoffrey.
Geoffrey immediately nodded knowingly and put a piece of paper and a pen in front of Estelle.
The color and pattern of the paper were so familiar that Estelle recognized it at once.
It was torn from her diary in which she wrote her childish wishes and her story with Cristofer when she was young.
“Miss Hudson, if you want him to survive, then write a letter,” Nelson ordered sternly.
“What do you want me to write?” Estelle asked.
Nelson’s smile remained amiable, but his words were harsh, “The words that can make him give up on you forever.”
