Chapter 29 Be My Bride

Book:Crush on You Published:2024-5-1

Yaffe looks at Quinn’s marvelous face.
He does satisfy all women’s imagination of men. She is not an exception as well.
But now such a man will marry her, allowing her to take care of Wiphy and announce her identity.
She can’t help being skeptical about the reasons behind.
At the same time, she thinks she might meet a miracle.
Her internal vanity and expectation for love make her want to spend the rest of life with him, like her parents who love each other all life.
Quinn looks at her red face, gently kisses her clean forehead and says slowly, “Don’t worry. Be my bride, OK?”
“Ok.”
Quinn sits back and starts the car.
The car stops in front of the building where Yaffe’s home is. Quinn carries her upstairs to her house.
Monismith and Wiphy are watching cartoon on both sides of the sofa.
Seeing them come in, Monismith is startled, saying, “How is the hurt so serious?”
“It’ll be better tomorrow. Don’t be surprised, Mum.”
“Yaffe, don’t pretend. Your feet are swollen two sizes as usual ones.” Monismith blames her, feeling distressed. Her finger point nearly touches Yaffe’s nose. “Stay at home these days. If you go anywhere else, I’ll break your legs.”
“Ms Lo, attention, please. Give me some dignity, will you?”
“Dignity? I don’t see your dignity at the sight of your current situation. Come watch TV with my grandson.”
Yaffe shuts her mouth and sits beside Wiphy.
After shouting, Monismith finds she has ignored her son-in-law completely. She smiles, “Quinn, sorry for that. Yaffe often makes trouble.”
“She’s nice.”
Monismith nods, “I’m cooking in the kitchen. If you don’t mind, stay here for dinner with Wiphy. Try my cooking.”
“Sure, I will. Do you need my help?” Quinn takes off the suit and goes towards the kitchen.
“No, thanks. Yaffe never cooks. She only waits and eats. You can watch cartoon with her.”
“Ms Lo, please lower your voice when speaking ill of me. Thank you.” Yaffe says.
Quinn smiles and tells Monismith, “Auntie, it is not a problem. Men from the He Family cook.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Let me help you.”
Monismith nods and follows him into the kitchen. She turns around and stares at Yaffe before entering the kitchen.
Yaffe feels innocent. She pretends to see nothing and continues to watch cartoon.
Seeing that they are left alone in the living room, Wiphy crawls up Yaffe’s legs carefully from the other side of the sofa. He hands the mini Ipad to her.
Yaffe reads the words on it.
“Your feet seem to hurt very seriously.”
Seeing his worry, Yaffe kisses his soft face, saying, “It looks a bit scary, but actually not so serious. Don’t worry.”
Wiphy touches the part where Yaffe kisses and feels a bit shy.
He can’t be cuter.
Yaffe rubs on his little chest with her face, saying, “Babe, thank you. I’ll get better soon.”
Wiphy feels a little itchy by her rubbing. Meanwhile a strange feeling happens to him. He feels very warm.
A smile plays on his lips.
Just then, Quinn goes out of the kitchen with a plate of sliced fruit. When he sees Wiphy’s smile, he smiles too.
Wiphy soon stops the smile, pretending to be expressionless.
Quinn feels funny and fillips his forehead, saying, “Have some fruit. Then you can do whatever you want.”
“Yes sir.” Yaffe replies naughtily.
Quinn messes up her hair and turns back to the kitchen.
Yaffe picks the sliced fruit with a toothpick and gives it to Wiphy.
He gets it, gives a small bite and moves it to Yaffe’s mouth.
Without any disgusting expression, Yaffe opens her mouth and ate it.
Her reaction makes Wiphy extremely happy.
Yannick comes home when the dinner is nearly ready. He sees Quinn with the apron come between the kitchen and the living room.
Seeing his dear daughter and Wiphy seated on the sofa like two statues, he feels a little funny.
“Dad, you’re home. Wash your hands. Dinner is ready.”
“Quinny is new to our family, but you have asked him to do housework.” Yannick says with disagreement.
Yaffe keeps smiling.
They have a good time by the dinner table.
Quinn and Yannick discuss the recent projects in detail.
Yannick benefits a lot from the discussion. His company also does the projects from the He Group, so he and Quinn are like peers. Much knowledge is useful to him.
Quinn chats with Monismith about desserts and cooking skills.
Yaffe and Wiphy are laymen, so they are busy eating. Sometimes they listen but they can’t get a word in edgewise.
After dinner, Yannick is very excited, asking, “Quinn, what about playing chess?”
“I’m not good at it. I’m afraid I’ll lose ridiculously.”
“I’m an amateur. Who knows who will lose?”
“Thank you for your teaching.” Quinn smiles.
They lay the chessboard on the tea table in the living room, starting to play chess.
Monismith and Yaffe watch beside. Wiphy sits on Yaffe’s legs like a little Maitreya Buddha.
Looking at Quinn near at hand and his thoughtful side face, Yaffe suddenly feels her heart pounding.
This man is trying to integrate into her family.
He is very considerate and he even doesn’t show too much worry about leaving Wiphy in her home.
Yaffe looks at the sincere smile on Yannick and Monismith’s face, feeling extremely peaceful.
At this moment, she realizes she will marry Quinn, the man all the women in Chandely admire.
She doesn’t know what will be like in the future, but she knows she is not silly. She is intelligent and wise. She could give herself a happy life.
Even if the marriage is not about love at first, love can be cultivated slowly in the marriage.
Yaffe can’t be calmer and more confident now.
Noticing her observation, Quinn turns around slightly and gives her a warm smile.
Yaffe smiles at him unconsciously.
Yannic and Monismith are pleased with this son-in-law.
Quinn and Yannick play chess for nearly an hour. Then Yannick finishes it although he wants to keep playing.
He often plays chess and of course he knows Quinn doesn’t exert his real skill.
Looking at the chess board, Yannick puts down the black chess piece, saying with a smile, “I lost.”
