After the seminar, Quinn immediately returns to the suite.
However, the suite is empty.
Quinn looks at the phone on the coffee table and smiles helplessly.
Does she just run away?
How can she run so fast when she is carrying the title of his fiancée?
Quinn picks up his phone and plays with it in his hand.
He taps on the screen to finds it still stick on the picture Yaffe is looking at.
Quinn’s aspirational eyes soften as he looks at the picture. He is determined to keep her by his side.

Yaffe meets Zahi at the venue’s gate. She smiles and says, “Professor Zahi, shall we go straight back to the hospital, or shall we go for lunch first?”
“Let’s go back to the hospital.” Zahi looked at Yaffe a few times and said, “What’s going on with you and Quinn?”
“When did you start gossiping too?”
“I’m just curious.”
“Don’t listen to Quinn. He’s talking nonsense. We’ve only met a few times.”
Seeing that she is indifferent, Zahi stops asking, “What do you think about this lecture? What other aspects do you think need to be improved?”
“I don’t usually attend such lectures, and I’m a complete layman.”
“You’re too modest. Your expertise and theoretical knowledge is no worse than anyone else who came to the lecture today.”
“Professor, are you flattering me?” Yaffe winked wryly.
“Yeah, well, when you and Quinn are officially married, won’t I be able to count on you? I won’t even have to ask anyone else for funding for medical research in the future.”
“Haha, Professor, why didn’t I think you had such a sense of humor before?”
“I didn’t get a chance to show it before,” Zahi laughed.
Yaffe laughs as well, “I’ve had my work schedule. I’ll compile photos, videos, and interactive questions of the lecture for you tomorrow, okay?”
“That’s okay. You’ll just have to compile it by next week.”
“Okay.”
**
Although Zahi said that the compiling work of the lecture material wouldn’t be needed by the following week, Yaffe prepared the various documents that night and submitted them to Zahi as soon as she got to work the next day.
As she heads to her office, she is shocked by what she sees outside her office.
The hallways and doorways of her office are crowded with people.
Not only the nurses and doctors, but also the patients are crowded together.
Yaffe coughs, “Girls, it’s work hours. Can you show some professionalism?”
The crowd disperses and Anne pushes her way out, “Yaffe, someone is looking for you.”
“Who is it? Was it worth you all running out to welcome him?”
“You’ll know when you see him.”
Yaffe is a little confused as she pushes her way through the crowd into the office.
By the office window, a man bathes in the morning sun is standing with his back to her.
Without looking closely, Yaffe knows who the man is.
Quinn taps the leaves of the small potted plant beside him with his slender fingers. He looks very much at ease
Hearing the sound of footsteps behind him, Quinn turns his head and smiles elegantly, “I need your help.”
“This is hospital, unless you’re sick. Otherwise, I don’t see the need for us to meet.” Yaffe said quietly.
“Wiphy’s situation is a little special and I need you to come with me.”
Yaffe freezes and Wiphy’s little face quickly appears in her mind. She says anxiously, “What’s wrong with him?”
Quinn is pleased with the look on her face. He steps forward and takes her hand, “We’ll talk on the way.”
**
Yaffe gets into Quinn’s car under the gaze of all the women in the hospital.
After fastening her seat belt, Quinn starts the car and leaves.
It isn’t until the car pulls out of the hospital that he says, “Wiphy had a sudden fever last night, but he refused to be touched by anyone other than me, and even the family doctor couldn’t help him.”
Yaffe remembers the last time she has seen Wiphy. She says with apprehension, “He probably won’t let me touch him either.”
“No, he’s quite fond of you.”
Hearing that, Yaffe looks to Quinn and finds Quinn is a little anxious.
Though she can’t see it on his face, she still feels it.
Yaffe’s heart skips a beat, “What’s wrong with Wiphy?”
“He hurt his foot a few days ago. And the temperature has dropped the last few days, so the wound is slow to heal. Plus he doesn’t let anyone near him, and the air conditioner temperature is set too low at night, and he usually kicks the blankets away when he sleeps, so he catches a cold.”
Yaffe nods silently.
Quinn drives the car out of the main road and then turns onto the highway.
Yaffe has been out with the hospital’s ambulance many times for first aid and is quite familiar with Qin City’s road conditions. She knows there are several wealthy and upscale neighborhoods near the highway.
But when they reach their destination, Yaffe still can’t help feeling stunned.
Quite a few villas are tucked away in the lush mountain forest and can occasionally be seen.
Even now, in late autumn, the hills are still lush, and the trees are extremely vibrant against the yellowing or faded trees of the other surrounding hills.
The car meanders its way up the mountain road, eventually stopping in front of a villa.
Surprise flashes in Yaffe’s eyes as she looks at the villa.
Quinn gets out of the car and opens the door for her. He raises his eyebrows at her, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Where’s Wiphy?”
“He is upstairs.”
Yaffe nods and follows Quinn up the stairs.
Quinn opens the door to a certain ward on the second floor and lets Yaffe in.
It is a large children’s room. Judging by the layout and design of the room, she can say it is a beautiful and elaborate room.
Only that the house is in a mess, with toys, blankets, and books being thrown everywhere.
Yaffe finds Wiphy in a cartoon bed that is a little too big for him.
Wiphy’s little face is flushed and he is sprawling on the blanket with his little belly exposed.
Yaffe can tell by his knitted little eyebrows that he isn’t feeling well right now.
Yaffe asks, “Did you take his temperature?”
“I just took his temperature when I came to get you, it’ 39 degrees.”
Hearing that, Yaffe is shocked. It is too dangerous for a child to have a fever of 39 degrees.
“Do you have any medicine at home?”
“The family doctor prepared it, but Wiphy doesn’t let anyone touch him.”
Yaffe wants to say that even if Wiphy doesn’t let anyone touch him, it is okay for you to give him his injection.
Words start to her lips but she chokes them back.
Giving an injection to a child is not an easy task for a professional, let alone one as relatively special as Wiphy’s.
“You take his temperature again, and I’ll go check on those medicines.”
“Okay. The medicine is in the next room and the butler will show you.”
Yaffe nods and turns around to go out.
She checks the medical kit in the next room and finds the family doctor has all medication ready, so she takes the kit and goes back to Wiphy’s room.
Inside the room, Quinn sits leaning against the bed. He cradles Wiphy in his arms, coaxing him softly, touching his little bare feet with his big hands from time to time.
By this time, Quinn has taken off his jacket and is wearing only a white shirt.
He pulls the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows and holds Wiphy’s small body steady, making one feel safe and secure.
