Book:Reborn as A Princess Published:2024-5-1

Wendy looks deadpan, she can’t make sure Zoe is telling the truth or not?! “Are you sure Yasmin pushed you that day or someone else asked her to?” She asks. Suddenly, Zoe stares at her angrily, “Yes! She pushed me! If you don’t believe me, then check with the maids, they all see that!” Wendy shakes her head, she’s deeply confused.
“Why you guys don’t believe me? Just because she’s the Royal Princess now? I’m not lying, I’m not! Yasmin pushed me, she said if I disappeared, Sung would love her only!” Zoe cries louder and louder, which makes Sung really bad inside. “I believe you, Zoe, I do! Please don’t cry, you make me sad!”
Wendy tries to ask more, while Sung turns to her and yells, “Enough! She just woke up now, can you let her rest?” Wendy understands he worries about Zoe, as his dearest sister. However, his emotional make her frighten today. She walks out sadly, and sees Lacey standing by the door. “So my sister pushed her… I used to doubt, I didn’t believe this before…” She sighs then walks away in the dark… The yellow light shines on her light yellow dress, which brings her loneliness out. She walks very slow, leaning with her maid.
It’s getting darker, Wendy doesn’t go back but sits on the stairs, thinking about Zoe’s words. She checks her wounds on legs. They remain there, never seem to disappear. She smells the death coming with the dark. Zhuge shows up from behind, sitting next to her. “Why don’t you go in? Zoe woke up do you know that?” Wendy asks. Zhuge forces a wry smile and looks toward Zoe’s room, “Go for what? They are like isolated now.” Wendy smiles, “It’s good. She woke up, Sung will be happy now.”
“Don’t you feel sad?” Zhuge checks, watching her with his dark gleaming eyes.
Wendy takes a long sigh, “It’s good. I feel happy for him… Then when I leave, he won’t care me that much.” Zhuge comforts, “You are so kind, Wendy. But… I know love is selfish.” Wendy puts a wry smile back. Yes, love is selfish, but she can’t be selfish this time. She puts her dress down, “Anyway, we will see how God arranges my life?” Zhuge notices her legs, same old wounds everywhere. “Why, why your legs are so…” He feels tense now, same like three years ago. Wendy says, “I feel nothing, same as before.” Zhuge wants to check, while she stops him. “It’s too bad, look at you! You don’t feel scared of death? You must take good care of your wounds!” Zhuge bends down to check her wounds carefully. Different sizes of wounds lie on her white legs, “How you made like this?” He asks.
“I don’t know,” Wendy says, “Sometimes I kicked somewhere, by accidentally. Then it became like this.” Zhuge grabs her hand and says, “Let’s go, I will put some medicine for you!” Watching them pulling around outside, Sung walks out. “What are you doing?” He asks coldly.
“Sung, why you didn’t put any medicine for her?” Zhuge complains. Sung bends down to check her wounds, “Does it hurt?” Wendy shakes her head. “Let’s go to put some medicines.” Sung hugs her and leaves. Zhuge watches them from behind, looking grief. Then turns to Zoe’s room.
Zoe is sleeping on her bed, Sung told her to relax more. Hearing someone’s in, she opens her eyes. “Oh brother Zhuge! Sung said you were helping me all these years.” Zhuge sneers, “We are happy you wake up! But I didn’t help you that much, it’s Doctor Wen, she cured you.” Zoe is a thoughtful girl, she can see how disappointed of Zhuge, she comforts fast, “I knew she cured me, but you are the one who looked after me all these years. Without your ginseng soup, I wouldn’t have another chance to wake up!” Zhuge laughs, he feels better, “Anyway, it’s good you are fine now! And who pushed you that day do you remember?”
Zoe sighs, “It’s Yasmin. I didn’t know why she did that to me? While she’s the Royal Princess now, so I guess no one would stand on my side.” Zhuge surprises by her answer, “Is it really her? Are you sure?” Zoe looks at him, “Well, have you guys investigated her?”
Zhuge nods, “Of course we did! We did for you! You know how much we cherish you! Sung treats you as his dearest sister, so am I. After you passed out, we had confirmed with the maids and others, they all said it’s Yasmin! But we don’t have much evidence…” Zhuge explains. “Then why Sung married her? She’s such a horrible woman!” Zoe says with pissed. Zhuge sighs, “Zoe, you can’t blame to Sung. He had no choice at that time! The King and others in the royal palace pushed him to marry Yasmin.”
“Then how about I stand out, and tell the King that she murdered me?” Zoe asks. Zhuge shakes his head, “Zoe, it’s enough. It’s the past story.”
“How could you say that? You mean I deserve to suffer all these four years?!” Zoe vents on Zhuge immediately. “She died three years ago…” Zhuge replies. “What? How?” Zoe can’t believe this reality. “It’s a long story, Sung hated Yasmin so badly after he married her. He never went to her place, not even once. He always stayed with Lacey that time…” Zhuge tells Zoe the whole story of Yasmin, not mentioning Wendy’s part. Zoe gets shocked.
“It’s fine, she’s dead anyway. I’m tired, brother, I want to sleep…” Zoe says. Zhuge nods, “Ok, take a good sleep Zoe. It’s a new beginning from tomorrow!” He blows out the candles then walks out. Sung hugs Wendy back to her room, putting her down. He orders San to bring some medicines, then cleans Wendy’s wounds. “Is that hurt?” Wendy shakes her head quietly. Sung sighs, “Liar! I know it’s pain. Are you worried about tonight?” He checks and brings her a cup of water, “It’s a big day for us. Catch some rest.” Wendy nods, “You too, Sung…”
“I will sleep here tonight.” Sung decides to stay all of a sudden. Wendy nods at once, she just wants someone to stay with her tonight, especially Sung. Both of them need someone to company. They all lost by Zoe’s words. They light some candles and take a hot bath together. Wendy brushes her black long glossy hair at the dressing table, she looks amazing, with her hair sway around her shoulders. She doesn’t look the same as old Wendy though, her eyes are the same to him. Sung cuddles her from behind, kissing her back. “Everything will be fine, Sung.” A drop of tear runs down from his cheek.
