Sung goes back to his palace when he finishes the meal with Lacey. He pretends not to care about Wendy, though he’s not. He orders San, one of his guards, to check on Wendy that night secretly. San is back and reports, “My Majesty, the Royal Princess used needles to pierce herself, and she used the burned knife also to clean her wound.” Sung gets pissed immediately. “What?! She really did that?!”
“Your Majesty, I saw how she pierced on herself, it’s quite professional, maybe she’s learning the acupuncture. I don’t think she tries to hurt herself though. Perhaps…” San speaks after hesitates a while. “Perhaps what??” Sung asks, his face seems calmer. “Well, her wound on the leg has still not scabbed after doctor Zhuge has put the medicine on her many days already. I think she doesn’t want it to recover…” San replies and sighs, “She does this for getting your attention, your majesty…? She’s very tough Princess. That’s what I thought.” San saw her face that night when Sung and Lacey on the bed. He knew how heartbroken she was at that moment.
While Sung doesn’t get touched, he scolds her coldly, “Whatever her reason is, she can’t hurt herself like this. Otherwise, she is trying to revenge me!” San sighs, “Then what should we do now?” Sung replies with sulk, “No need to care about her, that’s her choice!”
“But I worry the Royal Princess will be…” San asks with sympathy. “I said that’s her choice! Now you may leave.” Sung orders San to leave. He wants to stay by himself. What Wendy does is trying to push his limit. She knows Sung wants her to recover soon, however, she still provokes him with this stupid way. All his good impression on Wendy now has gone. Perhaps, she is not changing at all. She is still Yasmin, who’s mean and childish.
The same night, Zhuge comes for a visit. Sung told him everything. “Now make sense, that’s why her wound hasn’t recovered yet.” Zhuge sighs and gets shocked. Sung replies with disappointing, “We all fooled by her…” Zhuge shakes his head, disagreement with him somehow, “I know what she did is not good and out of mind. But I still insist on my opinion. She is not Yasmin. I have checked with my teacher, he said he used to see something like this. It’s witchcraft. He said this Yasmin in our palace might be used a corpse to resurrect another soul. His words touch Sung and recall his memories with Wendy in his room. How they teased each other, that lovely time.
He agrees with Zhuge for some points, that this Yasmin is a fake one. Then she is a total stranger to him. What’s the point for him to love her? Maybe she is just a Dream. “Whatever, I’m tired of her. I’m a loser now with my disabled body. How do I suppose to care about her wound? If she is Yasmin, then she killed Zoe, that I could never forgive her with all my life. If she’s not, then she is a dead person. It’s not our business.” Sung rubs his legs and replies. His words sound so hopeless and down. A heartache comes to him immediately. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust… He thinks.
Zhuge begins to worry, he feels the old decadent Sung is coming back. Wendy’s new chair just brought him back to live and full of inspiration these days. Then he’s going back again. Despite how much he hates her, he still loves her, Zhuge knows him well. There’s a dark box in the deep heart of Sung, which puts his secret undiscovered emotion, he is lost for now. After several weeks, Sung and Wendy don’t come to visit each other. However, Sung remain asks San to watch her from the dark.
One night, Sung drinks some rice wine, he’s almost drunk. “Your Majesty, the Royal Princess, she…” San comes back for watching Wendy, he feels unspeakable for what he sees. “Just tell me!” Sung orders quietly. “She starts to pierce on her body, even her head…” Sung feels chilly from his deep heart when he hears San.
“What the hell she wants from me?!” Sung yells and breaks his glass into pieces. San sees this, he moves aside quietly. Sung then yells some dirty words and tries to stand up. Unfortunately, he is too drunk to keep the balance. San goes forwards to help him. “Your majesty, please calm down! If you really worry about her that much, please go to check her. What do you say?” Sung kicks the wheelchair aside, “Throw this out, now! I don’t need her sympathy and stupid chair!”
San kneels at once and comforts, “My majesty! Please calm down! This chair is so exquisite and unique, and brought from the Royal Princess. It’s her heart to you!” San never sees Sung gets pissed like tonight. His face looks blue with veins appear on. “Shut up! I don’t need her fake heart!” His voice is trampling. His loud yelling spread to outside, everyone in his palace comes for checking. “Hurry! Bring the wheelchair for the Majesty!” San orders them with panic. When they try to put Sung back to the chair, he breaks it into pieces by his Qigong! Everyone is shocked, San runs to find Zhuge right away!
After a while, Zhuge comes and sees the disaster in the yard, with the broken pieces of wheelchair. He sighs and says, “Sung, you don’t need to release your anger on it.” Sung gives him a cold looking, curses, “Then you give her some poisons, if she really wishes to die, then dies in front of me! Not playing tricks behind!”
Zhuge continues, “If she really dies, you will be sad. Stop making fuss, Sung…”
“Are you crazy? I feel sad for her? No fucking way! I hope she die, then I won’t feel anything.” Sung replies with anger. Zhuge asks others out, just leave himself with Sung. “Listen, my brother. If you do feel nothing, then you wouldn’t be angry like this today! You care for her you know it, but you don’t want to commit. Why you can’t be true to yourself?!” Sung peeks at him, saying with arrogant, “Don’t you think you know me well, Zhuge! You are not!”
“Yes, maybe I’m not! But you know yourself well!” Zhuge continues persuading, “It’s your life and choice. I just don’t want to see you being sad.” Sung doesn’t like anyone to judge or sympathy him by his character. “You go to prepare me a carriage! I will go to report my father to divorce her!” Zhuge sighs, he looks at his eyes seriously, “Well fine. I believe you don’t love her. But how others will think of you if you divorce her like that?! I admit she does a stupid thing this time, but she just wants your attention.”
“If I care about her then no matter what she does, I always care! You go tell her this next time when you treat her!” Sung argues with desolate. Zhuge nods then leaves, he can’t explain more during this situation, or Sung will be mad with him.
The next day, Zhuge goes to clean Wendy’s wound. He sees many pinholes on her legs. “You don’t need to do this…” He shakes his head with compassion. Wendy doesn’t understand him well, “What? Do what?” Zhuge puts the new medicine on, “As you know, Sung doesn’t like the people who play tricks. Wendy doesn’t listen to him, she keeps reading her book. “So do you understand, my Princess?” Zhuge asks her when he finishes. Wendy nods back, “You said Sung didn’t like people who played tricks. But no one likes it, right? We all like people who are straight to each other.”
Zhuge smiles, nodding with satisfied, “I know you are a wise woman, Princess. You love Sung, so you must understand him well…” Wendy puts her book down, requests, “How can you see I love him?” Zhuge laughs, “Hah, come on! If you don’t love him then how you try so hard with…” Wendy’s face is red, “Maybe sometimes I fall in love with him… But my mind is clear all the time.” Zhuge gets confused, he really doesn’t get her this time. Women are so complicated.
Wendy changes the awkward topic, “So you finish??” She looks at her wound, “To get scab, it needs a longer time. So there’s no point you come every day.” Zhuge sighs, “Then please take good care of yourself, Princess. No need to torture yourself for others.” Wendy doesn’t pay attention to his words again, she moves to her book. “Daisy, please send doctor Zhuge out.” Zhuge leaves. He has done what he could for Sung and Wendy. Now it’s their time to open their hearts to each other.
