Wendy nods then asks them to sit down, “Everyone, please have a seat. I came here for talking about the poison on Princess Zena.” Doctor Chen replies, “My dear Royal Princess, we are checking from the books now. And after then, we will know what type of poison she got?” Another doctor offers her a seat. She sits and grabs a Chinese medical book on the messy table, “Ok, I got it. My personal opinion is we should find a medicine which can cure everything, that’s better and faster. What do you say, doctor?”
The Judge nods, “Hmm, yes, yes, that’s make sense, your Royal Princess! Have you heard anything about the Radix??” Wendy nods, “Yes, I heard it before. Radix grows on the mountain, it can detoxicate poisons normally. But only to some kinds of poisons.”
“Yes, my Royal Princess. But we are talking about another Radix, the one we said it’s a different kind, people call it, Henna, which grows in the high mountain, mostly in the cold area. You will be able to find one or two if you are lucky, very rare. This Henna can cure everything! Look!” The Judge handles her an old yellow book, with “Witchery” on it.
“Interesting, what is this book about??” Wendy asks. The Judge explains, “It’s about all kinds of weird and rare ways of treatments. My master brought it to me from a place called Miao. However, it’s too old to read from those missing pages. But look at here, there’s a kind of herb, which says it can cure everything! It’s a dark green plant, with long thin leaves, long deep roots and white circles on.”
Wendy takes a look at the old book, she remembers she used to see this kind of rare plant somewhere before! She closes her eyes, meditating for a while and trying to recall her memories. She remembered she saw this kind of plant on a Chinese Medical Conference. A doctor from Miao nationality brought it, she forgot the name, anyway. But it contains catnip, and could cure everything. “I saw this plant before!” She replies.
“Oh, really?? Do you know where we can get it, your royal princess?” All doctors look at her in surprise, as if they see the light. Wendy shakes her head and sighs, “Well, I don’t know where we could get it. I only saw the picture of it, and I’m not sure.” Everyone sighs, their small hopes disappear. “No worry, guys! We know there is a plant somewhere can save Princess Zena, now we just need to find it! Let’s keep searching, everyone!” The Judge cheers everyone up.
Several hours later, they have searched all the books, but no one gets nothing. The thunder runs through from outside, seems like there will be heavy rain. They just eat some steam breads for dinner then continue searching. The time is so precious, no one wants to lose Princess Zena.
“I found it! I found it!” One doctor cheers, as happy as a child. “It says in the Sirius mountain! Look, your royal process!” Wendy takes the book, reading, “The plant called Henna, it named by the first person who found it a long time ago. Henna cured so many people, and it grew in the Sirius mountain, with other rare plants together. It’s not easy to get due to the dangerous there, because there were so many poisoned animals lived in the mountain, such as snacks, tigers or lions, etc.” Everyone seems very happy.
“Nice! I will go there now!” Wendy stands up and ready to go that mountain, as fast as she could! But the Judge stops her, “Your royal princess, I’m afraid you can’t go now. We need to ask the King first. Then he can send some guards to take that plant. It’s too dangerous for you to go alone, as there are so many dangerous animals in that steel mountain.” Wendy considers for a while, nods, “Make sense, doctor! Then I will go report to the King right away!” Later then they arrive to the King’s palace. After hearing their long story, the King nods and says, “Well, that’s good. The Sirius mountain is not that far. But first it’s too high to climb; second is not easy to recognize the plant. It’s like dredging a needle in the sea.”
Wendy steps up, making a bow, “Well, if you don’t mind, My King. I would like to go with the guards. I can recognize it!” The King shakes his head, “No, you can’t, Yasmin! As a woman, it’s too dangerous for you! If something happens to you, how would I explain to Sung?” Wendy explains, “I understand, my King, but Princess Zena can’t wait one more minute! She is in huge danger now. We…”
“I know, Yasmin. But it depends on which mountain! The Sirius Mountain is too risky for you, as a woman, you can’t go there! That’s it!” The King replies very seriously. Sung arrives at this moment and hears the story, “Father, I would like to go and search this plant!” The King nods this time very fast, “Hmm, you may go. I trust you, my son! You are a wise and knowledge man, you will bring it back for sure!” Wendy tries to say more, but stops by Sung, “Well, if you know this plant, just draw it down for me. I will go there to bring it back!”
Wendy considers for a while, then nods, “Fine, there’s no other way. Could you ask someone to bring me the four treasures of town? I will draw now, your Majesty. Just it may not that real for you.” Her words shock Sung, “Can you draw??” Knowing Yasmin for a long time, Sung never knows she could actually draw! Wendy smiles and replies, “Well, your Majesty, I can’t. But I can still draw something basically.” To be honest, Wendy is a good painter, her level can compare with those professional one’s in her world. Soon, everything is ready. One maid spreads the white rice paper for her; one maid prepares the ink; Wendy closes her eyes to recall Henna’s picture. After a while, she draws a perfect lifelike plant on the paper! “Wow, I never knew my daughter-in-law could draw so well!” The King laughs. Wendy smiles, replies in modesty. “Thank you so much, it’s very nice of you to say, my King. I can only draw something like this, and cannot compare to others.” The king nods satisfied, he adores Wendy more and more. Sung stares at her, ” Perhaps she’s pretending, but why?! I saw she used to draw a dog, it’s so miserable!” Sung thinks.
He turns to his father, “Ok, I will take this picture with me and leave tomorrow morning to bring the plant back in three days, father!” Wendy sighs, she really wants to go, but seems like there’s no choice now. The Judge sees her expression, he takes a bow carefully to the King, “My dear King, I suggest you should let the Royal Princess to go with the Prince…” The king gets surprised and asks, “Why you think so, Judge?”
The Judge steps out, making another polite bow, “My dear King, although the Sirius mountain is very dangerous, if the royal princess goes with the Prince, I think that should be fine, that’s my first reason; my second reason is, only our Royal Princess can recognize and knows the location of this plant, with her help, we can get this plant faster; my last reason is, our guards don’t know about the medicine, if you take the plant with rough or wrong way, it would ruin it! We never know how many of these rare plants on the mountain. That’s why I suggest to bring our royal princess to go this time.”
“Oh, really?” The King frowns, he never knows that complicated of taking a small plant. Even though he knows bout how to fight and all the politics stuff.
“Exactly! My King! The Judge is correct! The roof of this plant, that’s the most important part! It seems very small, however, it has a long deep root! I promise if you allow me to go with majesty, we will bring it back, safely!” The King looks at Sung, “Son, what do you say?” Sung seems very depressed, he doesn’t want to take her at all, it’s too dangerous for women! But he gets no choice, for saving Princess Zena, he must take her! “Father,” Sung steps forward, making a bow, “I would like to take her with me. Since she’s the only one who saw this plant before.” Sung stares at Wendy with anger.
The King nods, “Fine then, as you say so, my son. Please take care of her, don’t let her get hurt, too many dangerous animals on that mountain! My God!” Sung nods, “Yes, father!” Then he glances at Wendy again, “Please don’t make any trouble for me this time!” He thinks. Wendy sighs, feeling so good. When they walk out, Wendy turns to the doctors and urges, “Doctors, please keep feeding Princess Zena the same soup, Ganoderma soup for these three days I’m out! If she faints again, you can sometimes stop her acupuncture points, to stop the poisonous going through her guts!” The Judge replies, “Yes, my royal princess, please no worry! We will try our best to keep Princess Zena’s life before you return! Please take care on the road!” Wendy turns to Sung, “Ok, let’s go! Your Majesty, ut could you wait me for a while to prepare something?”
“Prepare for what? Can we just go directly to the mountain right now?” Sung replies with impatiently. Wendy purses her mouth into a thin line, “Well, I must go to the market first, need to buy something. Your majesty.”
“Buy what?! If you are hungry, just eat the fruits in the mountain; if you feel thirsty, just drink the water from the stream. We are out for the plant, not for a trip! If you feel tough then don’t come with me!” Sung complains very loud. Wendy ignores him, then they are on their way. She still stops the carriage in the middle of the way, to buy her stuff. While Sung waits for her like half an hour, then she’s back with a big bag of stuff!
