“Let’s go.” She held her sister and walked into the crowded crossroad, a scarp delivery truck landed after a long brake mark.
A white body was laying under the front on the truck, the white dress was covered in red, a white sandal was swung for a distance.
“It’s her.” Abigail couldn’t believe it’s Michelle, she just talk to her a while ago.
“It’s one of those sisters that are driving the truck.” Someone pointed out, all the eyes were on them.
“Call the ambulance!” Will reacted first. When he was just about to call, an ambulance arrived.
“Sis…” Breslin’s whole body was shaking, she’s very terrified.
“It’s fine.” Abigail hugged her tightly, trying to calm her down, but deep down in her heart she’s worried too.
“Sis… I know I will be put to trial.” She didn’t forget she and Abigail just turned eighteenth today.
Abigail shook, her face turned white, she hugged her sister even tighter.
If her sister went to jail, everything she had achieved would turn to nothing, she’s gonna carry this shame forever, she… no…
NO!
“She’s gone.” The medical staff gave the final call.
“Who’s the one that ran out? Go and confess to the judge, you can reduce the penalty.” Someone suggested.
The cops were coming, Abigail knew she must make a decision.
She pushed Breslin away to Will.
“It’s me, you take Breslin and get out of here.”
“No!”
“No!”
Will and Breslin refused at the same time. Breslin was struggling in Will arms.
“Sis, this is my…”
“This is my fault! you don’t have to worry.” Abigail yelled and interrupted her sister, she looked her in the eyes, trying to give her a signal to stop talking.
Breslin was still struggling, Abigail knew Breslin would not take this trade. But, she’s her only sister, she promised her mom to protect her.
“Go away! You know me, if you don’t leave, I will drink this right now!” Abigail held the rat repellent, she appreciated Miss Maisie again.
“No… That is poison!” Will yelled and stopped her.
“Will, take her away.” The cops had arrived, Abigail went to the cops without any hesitation…
She filled in the forms, her hands were shaking, and her heart was pounding hard.
She didn’t think much about what’s the cost of this move, she was just worried about her sister. She knew her, her sister wouldn’t let her to take this responsibility.
But she had to! This was what she promised to her mom, and this was what a sister should do! She didn’t think about her future at all, she’s more worried about her sister’s bright future.
