As I pulled my bag up ready to leave, I saw a rose under it, and a note beside it.
I took the rose, and opened the note. Who sent me this? There wasn’t even a name. I finished reading the note, and I realized that my palms were sweating.
The note fell from my hand as I grabbed the table. Who the hell sent that? My heart kept beating faster.
Dear Techna
I don’t need to give you instructions, I am just going to go straight to the point and not beat around the bush. All I want for you is to stay away from Tyler, or you would be hurt like the last time you were hurt, the day my men came to Tyler’s house. You lost a baby that day, so if you don’t want me to kill the rest of your unborn kids, stay away from Tyler and his family.

There was a picture at the back of the note that made me scream into my cloth in my mouth. It was a picture of two babies dead, with knifes on their head.
My breathing wasn’t back to normal yet, and I think it would not be long before I go into a panic attack. Not a minute after, it became difficult to breathe. I shoved the note, and the picture with the rose into my drawer. I held onto the edge of the desk, and used my other hand to hold my belly as I began to gasp for breath. I wanted to call Tyler’s name but I couldn’t find my voice.
“Techna! Please breathe!” I heard someone say rubbing circles on my back, and holding me against their chest. As the person continued, I calmed down a little and was able to look up.
Jake.
“J-Jake-e.” I managed to call out as I held tightly onto him as my breathing steadied.
“Yes, just breathe.” He said and I sighed in relief.
“Thank you.” I whispered not still able to find my voice.
“It’s my pleasure. So, I never knew you had panic attacks.” He sat me down on the desk.
“Hum, the discussion never came up, and it hadn’t happened in a very long time. Like a year ago or so. “I shrugged.
“Hey, it’s okay. Don’t you have an inhaler?”
“I do, I didn’t bring it since I haven’t had it in a while like I said.” I brought out a bottle of water from my bag, opened the cover, and gulped the water down my throat.
“So, what happened that made it happen now again?” He asked. I was avoiding this type of question.
I looked away. “I don’t want to talk about it please.”
“Techna, I want to help you. Don’t you trust me?” Hurt flashed quickly through his eyes, and as soon as it came, it went.
I nodded my head. “I do trust you Jake, but right now, I am not in the mood of talking about it. Please just take me home.”
Jake nodded in understanding, and we walked towards the elevator.
“Hey bro.” I heard Tyler call, and I almost froze. Why did his voice have to sound so sexy?
We both turned around, Jake and Tyler gave each other bro hug, smiling at each other. They were already cool with each other?
Then I faced Tyler who was now typing away on his phone. “Ty, are you going home now?”
He looked up, and he looked at me with a smirk. “Why? Are you missing me already?”
I snorted. “You wish.”
He chuckled. “I might come late, so please can you make dinner for me?” He asked, looking at me with a puppy dog face. He looked adorable.
I shook my head teasing him. “No, I am so tired.” Jake snickered.
“Please, should I go on my knees?”
I laughed. “Fine, I was just messing with you.”
“Thanks then. Goodnight Jake, I will call you.” Ty said looking at Jake, as they communicated through their eyes. They were hiding something from me, but I shrugged it off. They will tell me later anyway.
“Yeah, goodnight. Techna, let’s go.” Jake said and moved towards the elevator.
“Don’t wait up for me, if you are planning to.” Tyler smirked and hugged me goodbye.
“You wish!” I waved a little, before joining Jake in the elevator as the door closed.
“You are so into each other.” Jake said wiggling his eyebrows suggestively at me.
“What? We are not.”
“Whatever that mays you sleep at night.”
