A few footmen went down and found that they were unable to pull them out. The struggle they put up earlier made them sink deeper into the mud. Finally, with the help of four more footmen, they were pulled out
As confounded Sebastian laid exhaustedly on the ground, the stench of mud on his body made everyone take a step back.
“Prince Sebastian, care to explain what is going on here?” Ralph Debeur was no doubt the Lord Regent, his words were precise and to the point.
Sebastian was humiliated; his almond eyes looked around, seeing Luna hiding shakily behind the side consort, he was beyond livid.
“Get over here.” When did he ever have to endure such humiliation? He splattered mud onto the ground in anger, making people move away in disgust.
The side consort couldn’t bare Luna’s stench and moved sideways to expose her in everyone’s eyes.
Luna was shaking and looking at Sebastian in hurt, “Wasn’t it you who called me here?”
She didn’t expect her Cinderella dream to shatter entirely and become a nightmare.
“Bullshit! It was you who gave me the message!” Sebastian’s eyes narrowed and glared at Luna
“Enough.” Lord Regent said lowly.
This time even Prince Sebastian cowered in fear and closed her mouth to look at the domineering man in front of him.
A slight breeze blew over the smell of their stench from their mud-covered bodies; no one opened their mouth this time.
You could hear a pin drop beside that pond.
Lord Debeur calms himself down and looked at Sebastian apologetically, “Prince Sebastian, I am sorry for my daughter’s lack of breeding and for the trouble she’s caused you.”
Hearing this, Sebastian was confused; he didn’t know how to react to this situation.
Ralph was known for his aggressive ways in court, even Sebastian was a little intimidated with him. His concession made him a little uneasy.
A small leak will sink a great ship.
This seemed like a big enough leak.
“I am okay.” Sebastian smiled dryly as he waved a hand. He looked sideways at the on-lookers and glared, “If a word of this gets out, you will all die.”
Everyone nodded but Sebastian was still not at ease. Although they swore secrecy, he knew somehow this would still get in the ears of father.
It was not simply humiliation he has to endure then.
Meanwhile, a pair of calm eyes was fixed on everyone; the owner of this pair of eyes took everything that just happened.
It was Mary Debeur!
She hided herself behind the hedge and appreciated this show through a natural hold on the hedge, which was caused by the erosion of rainwater.
The embarrassment of Sebastian made Mary feel good. Her lips curved into a meaningful smirk. This was what you get if you offend the wrong person.
This was a gift to the original owner of this body.
Seeing the main part of drama has already passed, Mary intended to leave, fearing her absence would be noted if she stayed too long.
She turned around and found herself looking into a pair of calm, bottomless eyes. She flinched, but found some familiarity in those entrancing eyes.
“It’s you?”
Mary looked back and saw a masked man clad in white robes standing in front of her. The white jade mask covered his face, leaving his handsome eyes memorable and his thin lips alluring.
His lips curled slightly and formed a charming smile, “I didn’t believe Miss Debeur to be a peeping tom.”
His eyes held something, smiling slightly as he looked at Mary, making her drown in them.
Mary jotted out of her trance abruptly, “The pot calling the kettle black.”
Norman Leeway understood her implication naturally, and smiled instead of getting mad, “What would they react if they know everything was planned by Miss Debeur’s?”
His eyes were mocking, making him seem wanton and arrogant.
His guarded expression seemed to lessen.
Noticing her lack of response, Norman’s eyes went cold and speculative.
“Goodbye.” Mary frowned. It seemed that while she was setting up a trap, she herself was falling into one’s trap as well. Her actions were all noted by others.
She didn’t even notice all this despite her vigilance.
This man was too dangerous, the endless sense of control in his eyes made her cold.
She doesn’t want to get involved with this, so she chose to avoid him.
Just as she walked past him, Norman Leeway grabbed her soft hands, making her feel tense. She then threw a punch instinctively.
Her move was like lightning, stirring up a current.
Just as she thought she was hitting him, a pair of large hands grabbed her and a warm power melted her strength.
