Chapter 4 Three Sisters

Book:Miss Mystery Published:2024-5-1

Looking at the suddenly conscious Mary, Daisy jumped in surprise, more like in delight, “Miss! You are finally awake! You’ve been asleep for a whole day! It’s all my fault, I didn’t have the money to call for a doctor…”
Daisy couldn’t help sniffling excitedly at the clearly conscious Mary, wiping her tears with her hand.
“Would you just shut up?” Aron couldn’t help saying it out loud. She was aching all over, and even more with Daisy’s babbling.
The sniveling girl in front of her was wearing ancient garment, the surroundings also looked weirdly like 1500s.
Aron didn’t want to act rashly; she closely observed her room. The carved window-sill was draped in embroiled curtains hooked with silver loops, which was a rare vintage design.
She was getting more and more curious, looking back at the dumfounded girl who was frightened out of her wits due to her shouting, she asked, “Who are you?”
“I am your lady-in-waiting, miss! I grew up with you!”
Daisy was gobsmacked by her question. Mistress never asked this sort of question before. Looking at Mary’s clear eyes, she was both excited and a little nervous.
She looked at her mistress who was wearing an odd expression, and carefully said, “You are the fifth daughter of the Lord Regent. This is your bedroom, do you still remember? Are you still in pain?”
Aron looked at her and tried to say something. Just as she was getting up, her insides suddenly felt like it was twisting together. She sucked in a breath and sat up anyway.
“Careful, miss!” Daisy hurriedly helped her up and pushed a pillow behind her. Fearing that Mary might get cold, she draped a robe on her shoulders.
Aron bowed her head with an unpredictable look in her eyes as she let Daisy serve her.
She lifted her eyes when Daisy stooped and asked, “Where is this place?”
“This is the Debeur Mansion, mistress.” Looking at her mistress’s serious look, Daisy was a little confused.
Aron knew Daisy didn’t truly understand her question, so she stopped pestering her, deciding to find out in her own way.
She lifted her wrist and saw a pale and delicate hand with smooth perfect skin. It was definitely not her body.
As an agent, she never identified people with their facial features but with their hands. This pair of hand in front of her was long, slim and weak, which was not her own hands. However, she was now incarnating into this body. When you eliminate all the other possibilities, the last remaining theory, without a doubt, would be the truth.
Therefore, Aron guessed that she may have travelled through time. There was no other explanation.
The pedestrians and streets aside, this simple room and the architecture was solid proof. Every detail was solid, making it impossible to be made up.
Pressing her hand to her thumping heart, Aron recalled a few hours ago that it was indeed pierced by a bullet, but now it was like it never happened. She must admit the fact that she was no longer in the modern civilization, and she was not Aron anymore.
Her eyes dimmed when she thought about this.
“Do you know what happened before I fainted?” Aron quickly composed herself and coolly started collecting more information.
“I heard that you were suddenly having one of your episodes and went chasing Prince Sebastian. Gathering from the passerby, he hit you pretty bad and you basically flew across the street. It must have been really painful.” Recalling her mistress’s unconscious form, Daisy turned and wiped her tears in remorse and shame.
Aron didn’t pay attention to Daisy’s reaction. She was able to vaguely grasp the situation now. The former Mary Debeur is probably dead, killed by the fourth son of the Emperor. She woke in this body by chance. Her eyes flashed when she thought of Mary’s encounter. She will make those who dare to mock her pay!
“Stop crying and get me a glass of water.” Aron, who was in the body of Mary, sat up and ordered Daisy to give her something to do, or else she would cry annoyingly all day.
“Yes, miss! Is your mind clear right now? I knew you will wake up eventually.” Daisy wiped her tears and giggled foolishly at Mary. She turned around and went on happily fetching water for Mary.
“Mistress asked her questions logically and understood to her clearly, she must be completely conscious and no longer foolish, thank god!” Daisy thought.
Just as Daisy was handing a cup of water carefully to Mary, the door was kicked open with a huge bang, almost making her smash the cup.
On the contrary, Aron was quite calm; her hand did not even flinch when she took the cup from Daisy. She stood and drained her cup before looking over at the intruder.
Daisy curtsied, “Miss Luna, Miss Amy, Miss Grace, mistress only just woke up and is rather sensitive to loud noises, please pardon us.”
