Chapter 41 Remember to Bring Your Household Register

Book:Love You With All My Heart Published:2024-5-1

After Lawrence leaves, Mr. and Mrs. Moore give Nancy thought guidance. Actually, it is nothing but cliché like “You can’t miss this boy. His grandma likes you so much. And Lawrence himself is good at all aspects, including his family background. He is much better than that bastard Martin Evans.”
Nancy rolls her eyes, “Mom, dad, you just know that Lawrence has a good family background, but you don’t know how wealthy and powerful his family is.”
“A wealthy and powerful family?” Mrs. Moore is stunned and then replies, “That’s greater. People are dreaming of marrying into a wealthy and powerful family, so that they will not have to worry about money for the rest of their lives.”
“Sister, our parents have met his grandma today, and you two have a baby. I think you should set a schedule for your marriage.” Tammy, with a bag of crisps at hand, sits down on the sofa. Nancy reaches out her hand to the crisps, but it is then slapped away.
“Pregnant woman can’t eat crisps!”
Nancy stares blankly at her families. It seems all of them have been surrendered to Lawrence honeyed words, wishing to pack her to his bed. Even the baby in her belly is tagged as Lawrence baby. They even don’t allow her to eat something or touch something!
Nancy is fed up with all these and that she can’t afford to fight against them, so she hastily comes back to her bedroom.
Lying on the bed, Nancy takes out her phone and finds so many messages from Lawrence.
[Get up before 10 o’clock tomorrow morning. I will bring you to have a pregnancy check-up.]
[You will have a blood drawing, so remember to wear clothes with loose sleeves.]
[By the way, don’t bring Tammy. She’s too talkative.]
[Oh, remember to bring your household register.]
Nancy’s mouth twitches. Why Lawrence suddenly becomes… such unthinkable?
He is totally different from the one she knew before!
After pondering for a while, Nancy texts him, [Lawrence, are you serious?]
Then she receives his message in a minute, [If not so, do you think I am joking?]
Nancy texts back, [But, don’t think there are some huge gaps between us? For example, our ages, and our family backgrounds.]
Lawrence texts, [You are a woman and I am a man. Additionally, you bear my child. This is enough to fill all the gaps.]
Nancy gets lost in thought upon seeing this message. After a long time, she finally texts back, [I think you are either stupid, or your brain is out of work.]
Lawrence is also lying on the bed. He looks at the text message on his phone and bursts into laughter.
It’s true. He also thinks that he becomes stupid; otherwise, why does he fall for such a silly woman!
On the next day, Nancy is awakened by her mother, who says that Lawrence is waiting for her at the downstairs and will take her to hospital for a pregnancy check-up, which is an important matter that should be handled carefully.
Nancy dresses herself up. Before she goes out, Mrs. Moore grasps her hand and puts a meal box in it, “This is specially made for Lawrence. I noticed on that night that he liked this very much, so I made it this morning. Remember to tell him to eat more of it.”
Nancy is speechless and has an illusion that her mother is snatched by Lawrence!
Then Nancy goes downstairs and palms the meal box on Lawrence’s hand, “My mom said you liked this, so she specially made this for you.”
“Our mom is so nice!” Lawrence gives her a big smile and then asks, “Do you bring the household register?”
Nancy raises her head and looks into his eyes in confusion, “Does a pregnancy check-up need a household register?”
They are going to the hospital, so she just needs to bring an ID card with her, doesn’t she?
Lawrence frowns, “It seems that I will have to borrow it from my mother-in-law!”
As he is speaking, he puts the meal box into the car, and then walks upstairs holding the hand of Nancy.
Nancy doesn’t get it at the moment. She keeps up with him and asks, “Lawrence, why are you pulling me towards upstairs? Aren’t we going to the hospital for a pregnancy check-up?”
“Wait a moment; we should first complete an important task.” As they arrive at the door, Lawrence rings the doorbell.
