After a busy night, Susan and Edward slept together at a hotel that was a stone’s away from the hospital. However, the annoying phone calls woke her up early in the morning, interrupting her sleep.
She already hung up a few. When it didn’t stop, she just turned her phone off.
“Why are there so many phone calls when it’s only nine,” she muttered as she rubbed her eyes.
Edward was cuddling her. Light snores could be heard. Yesterday night, he looked after Lan until 3 a. m.. He only came back at 4 a. m.. It was no doubt that his energy was drained completely.
Susan wanted to wait for him, but she was too tired so she went to sleep after wearing her clothes.
Now that she’s awake, the image of Edward helping her to take off her clothes flashed across her mind.
Her ears started to turn red at that thought. She lay back, wanting to sleep, only to realize that she couldn’t.
She turned on her phone. After a long freeze on her phone screen, she was shocked.
“Bitch! Shameless whore! How dare you bring Night to a nightclub! You’re disgusting!”
“Your whole family should go to hell. I don’t understand why Night loved you!”
“I can’t believe you hang out at a nightclub! How many men have you fucked? Slut.”
“…”
Susan’s body started to tremble as she read. She had never expected her to be the centre of hate comments.
Her messages and DMs were filled with these filthy comments even though she didn’t have a clue to what happened.
Instinctively, she went to check the news. As expected.
Someone had taken a photo of her and Edward at the nightclub yesterday. It’s not a big deal for a professional e-sports player to go to a nightclub, but the news of her dating Edward was still breaking news. Now that this photo became viral, they couldn’t resolve the problem in time.
“What’s wrong?” Edward asked as he caressed her shoulders. She had no idea when he woke up.
Susan jolted at the question, but quickly regained her composure. “Nothing much. You should sleep.”
The stare in her eyes slowly blurred out. Edward then noticed her phone that she was gripping tightly onto. He then asked again, in a clearer tone, “What’s wrong?”
Susan immediately hid her phone behind her back as he sat up.
“It’s-”
Edward swiftly snatched the phone from her hand. The black screen turned bright again as he scrolled through, his face turning sour.
Susan couldn’t help but to bite her lips.
“What should I do…” She sobbed. “I don’t know how to explain, what should I do…”
Edward hugged her in his arms, his jaws touching her forehead. “You’re not allowed to leave.”
Susan was surprised. Her inner thoughts that’s deep in her heart were exposed by him.
“I’m worried that I’ll ruin your life.” Her voice was so soft that it was barely audible.
Edward slowly closed his eyes as he caressed her smooth and silky hair. “Last time, I left you is because I knew I’ll be able to keep you by my side. The same goes for now.”
“Edward, let’s break up.” She’s scared. She’s not scared of her life being ruined, but she was afraid that Edward’s life will be ruined because of her.
Susan felt his body shook.
“Susan Miller.” Edward forced her to look at him in the eyes. He stared at her. He wanted to look into her soul, look into her thoughts. “Say that one more time.”
“I…” Susan opened her mouth, but she couldn’t get herself to say it.
All of a sudden, Edward smiled brightly and hugged her tightly. “I’ll never let go of you. Never.”
Her worries were washed away with his wide smile. She hugged him back. She understood what he meant now.
This is just a challenge. Let’s face it together.
