Edward had rented an apartment in Shanghai long ago. Sometimes when everyone in the DBG’s base had gone away, he was alone and bored, then he would go staying there.
Sometimes Lan and Cuss would also come here to play, this average-size apartment was just enough for them to stay up all night having fun.
Susan thought that the apartment where a few men lived must be dirty and messy. However, when she stepped into the apartment, she didn’t expect that it was quite tidy at first glance.
“Come here,” Edward stood in the doorway, calling Susan.
She saw him fiddle with something, after that, he held her hand and pressed her hand on the smart door lock to record her fingerprint.
Susan blinked her eyes, and gradually she felt warm in the depth of her heart.
“The club is on holiday now, if you don’t mind, I will invite them for dinner tonight, ” He seemed to be asking for Susan’s opinions very seriously.
“I sure don’t mind… they’re all your friends, how could I mind it?” Susan glanced at the kitchen and exclaimed, “Wait a minute! There’s nothing in the kitchen, what’re you going to eat tonight?”
“Are you silly? We could order takeout,” From Edward’s tone, it seemed to be just an ordinary thing.
“Haha,” Susan laughed dryly, rolling her eyes, then went into her room to tidy up the things.
Edward felt like going in after her, but his phone popped up a few messages at the moment.
[Leo: I’ve asked my friend about the picture you gave me last time.]
[Leo: It’s a medicine for mild depression and insomnia.]
[Leo: Why’re you asking this? Where did you get this medicine? Aren’t you going to Susan’s house?]
The hand holding the phone trembled slightly. As Edward’s sight fell on the words ‘depression’ and ‘insomnia’, he couldn’t take his eyes off anymore.
After reading the message sent by Leo, Edward turned off his phone. He looked toward Susan who was busy in her room, the sunlight breamed through the window into the room rarely; her hair hung down her shoulder, waving over her chest and appearing in the dark brown color under the reflection of the sunlight.
A crack appeared in his heart gradually, and he felt an endless twinge of guilt for her.
He had ever doubted whether she really loved him; had ever complained and even hated her; he felt he was treated unfairly when he was suffering countless unbearable heartaches in the past two years.
But now he knew the truth about her in the past two years.
Her pain might be worse than his, because in the campus that was full of their memories, she was the only one who left over there.
“Thank you,” Not knowing when Edward had come up behind her, he enfolded her in his arms easily.
Out of blue, Susan didn’t cause any trouble, letting him hug her instead, “Everything’s all right, why do you want to thank me?”
Edward took a deep breath, and he smelled a faint, warm fragrance of her hair and her neck.
He was so grateful that in his over ten years of bitter life, he could meet her so early.
He was so grateful for finally being capable of hugging her.
He was so grateful to her.
“Thank you for never leaving my side.”
Susan wanted to move, but suddenly she felt the slight trembling in the bosom that hugged her, so she stopped her movement.
Behind her shoulder, the warm liquid dampened her clothes.
With tears in his eyes, Edward began to kiss her neck gently, then he changed from light kiss to deep kiss little by little.
However, he always avoided Susan’s eyes, he didn’t want her to see his look now.
Susan caressed his face, and her palm was slightly dampened by his tears.
“Don’t worry, I’m here.” She coaxed him as if he was a child, but when a thought suddenly crossed her mind, she hammered him lightly. “You haven’t told me yet, why don’t you come to see me?”
“I’ve been there.”
“What?”
Edward’s voice was hoarse, kissing her forehead lightly, he repeated again, “I went to find you.”
