Robin looked at her face, and wanted to ask her something, but he was sure she wouldn’t tell him if he asked directly.
Robin then softened his tone and apologized, “I’m sorry for what I did. I was just in a hurry to save you.”
Hearing Robin’s apology, Yue also calmed down. She stole a look at Robin, and said in a worried tone, “Did you really not take advantage of me?”
“I swear I didn’t take advantage of you,” said Robin firmly.
Yue quickly answered, “I believe you.”
“But what happened? Didn’t I fall asleep?” she said, leaning back against the seat.
Seeing that she was rather confused, Robin couldn’t help but ask, “You really don’t remember anything? Can’t you remember what you just did?”
Yue shook her head and said, “No.”
Robin thought for a while. Since Yuer could not remember anything, they had to go back to where they were yesterday, and he could only find out the answer there.
After a few words of comfort, he turned and hurried back the place where they were yesterday.
Having a rest on the road for a night, they finally came back to the campfire activity place the next day.
Yue curiously asked, “Why did the weird thing only happen to me? Weren’t you with me?”
Robin had thought about it too, and he didn’t know either. He thought it was because he was physically stronger.
When they arrived at the campfire activity place, a lot of people had already been there. And they also saw the cars they had seen yesterday.
But Robins paid no further attention. The campfire hadn’t been lit, and people gathered in small groups, talking or playing games.
Everything seemed to be in harmony.
“Wasn’t there anyone who had the same problem as Yuer did?” thought Robin.
But looking around, he found that nothing strange happened.
He went around, wanting to look for someone to ask.
Once again, he saw the thin man, so Robin walked over.
“Do you come here every day?” asked Robin.
The man seemed to recognize Robin, but he wasn’t too surprised. “What are you talking about? Don’t you come here every day?” he said.
Robin looked at him curiously, then asked, “Why? Why do you come every day?”
The man was confused and said, “Just to pray for good luck! Only when the God hears our prayers can we stop.”
Robin could not understand what the man was saying and had to give up.
When he returned to the car, he didn’t not let Yuer out, for fear that the place would harm her again.
But as soon as Robin got in the car, Yuer asked him with worry, “How’s it going? Did you ask him anything?”
Robin shook his head. “Nothing is clear yet,” he said. “It seemed like these people are just stuck here. Maybe only in the evening, strange things will happen.”
Yuer just nodded.
They waited in the car until the bonfire in the middle of the field rekindled. Then Robin got out.
The rhythmic music played out in the grounds. Robin took a closer look at them and found that the music was played by their car stereo.
As the music played, a group of men and women approached the campfire and began to dance, as if of their own free will. But Robin thought there was something weird about it.
It was as if the music was driving them to dance.
Robin sniffed the air, but there was nothing psychedelic aroma in it as he had expected, and Yuer had no contact with anyone but him.
The crowd on the outside didn’t seem to be tempted by the music. Robin went over and asked a guy.
“Why don’t you join them?”
The man replied, “Don’t you see that there are men and women?”
The guy might be single, so Robin didn’t know what to say.
But after thinking for a while, he asked, “Do you want to dance?”
The man nodded. “Sure, when I find my partners, I’ll dance with them in there.”
Robin noticed the look of fascination in the man’s eyes as he looked to the center of the field. And Robin believed that the man would certainly join them if he had a partner.
It seemed that not only the couples but also the people on the outside had been seduced.
As he was lost in thought, Yuer stepped out of the car with her eyes glowing with enthusiasm, and she walked right up to Robin.
Robin was about to ask her why she was coming down when she grabbed him by the arm, as if she was trying to make her way toward the middle of the field.
Robin tried to stop her, so he didn’t go with her. But when Yuer couldn’t pull Robin to the campfire, she began to shake unnaturally, and it seemed to develop into convulsions.
Fenn gave up resisting as he remembered how she had twitched in pain before.
And he needed to feel that strange atmosphere again, and tried to find the cause.
When Robin went with her, Yue immediately reinvigorated and pulled Robin inside, and she began to dance.
Robin could gently dance to her rhythm, but didn’t get obsessed with it. Instead, he paid attention to the changes around him.
The men and women seemed to be indulged in it and shook their bodies intimately, as if intoxicated with happiness. Some closed their eyes, feeling the sound and touch, and even the scent of their partners.
As the sky grew dark, the campfire in the field became bright, reflecting on everyone’s face, which made their faces red, like an evening sunset.
But it was more like the heat after the excitement.
Robin looked at Yuer beside him again, and saw that her face was also red.
She danced closely to Robin, as if she was trying to be intimate with him.
Robin whispered, “Yuer, wake up!”
Robin tugged at her dress, but Yuer continued to dance.
Yuer tugged at the skirts of her dress and waved them, like touching her lover.
After watching it for quite a while, Robins couldn’t wait any longer.
Perhaps it was the music that confused them.
He left the dance floor and walked toward the sound systems of the cars.
Robin thought Yuer would return to normal when he left, but she was clinging to another man who was already dancing with a partner.
And the three people began to dance together.
