“Do you think we should we should summon Abigail for questioning?” The chubby-looking elder frowned.
“I don’t think Abigail would honour our call even if we summon her, you know how she is,” The female elder sighed.
The other elders nodded in agreement hearing her words. They were sure Abigail might not honour their call even if they called her.
She was also strong so there was nothing they could do to her also Jefferson had no say in her in the pack.
“We’ll just have to wait till the truth comes out, I’m sure it’ll be out one day.” The muscular elder sighed.
****
Jefferson went out of the elder’s place broken. He couldn’t believe the elders didn’t give him a chance to explain.
Well, it wasn’t their fault if he was in their place he would have done the same thing.
What could he do? He was sure DeLorna wouldn’t come out of the elder’s place for some days.
He couldn’t go to his sister for advice as he was sure she would be saying things he didn’t like.
He didn’t know why his sister was behaving that way but he could care less about it.
Right now he was racking his brain trying to think who the culprit might be but he couldn’t find it.
His brain was blank and he couldn’t think straight.
All he could think about was how to get DeLorna back to himself. He was sure she believed him but at the same time, she didn’t want to believe him.
He knew that his words and how they happened were kind of hard to believe. There was no way a person in his right senses would believe his story.
It was impossible to believe.
Jefferson had no choice but to head back to his room and lay on the bed.
He was wondering why the moon goddess was making this happen to him. Though he didn’t know why he hoped it was all a test.
He wanted to tell DeLorna that he was innocent but who would believe him?
He slept with another woman and he claimed he thought it was his mate who in hell would believe that kind of ridiculous story?
There was no way one would believe it as it was very strange.
Sighing Jefferson turned and tossed on the bed. Right now he was feeling as if his heart was torn into a hundred pieces.
He was bleeding internally and he knew it. There was no one he could share his pain with.
Before he found his mate he was lonely and after finding his mate she became both his mate and best friend.
He would share all his sorrows with her and she would console him. But now he had hurt his mate badly.
He was looking for something he could use to tell her he was sorry.
At first, he wanted to use the mind manipulation skills to make her come to him but DeLorna was at the elder’s place and they would immediately look for a way to counteract his mind control so he did not do it.
All he hoped was that the moon goddess would provide a way out for him as he was helpless at this moment.
He would be grateful if she would give him a way out. He was supposed to live a peaceful life with his mate after the war just as he planned but then something came up.
If he had known something like this was going to come up he wouldn’t have thought of living a peaceful life with his mate.
All he could do was pray that this would be the end of his problems. He hoped the moon goddess would accept his prayers and grant him what he wanted.
His wish wasn’t something great all he wanted was a peaceful life with his mate. He wasn’t asking for more than that. Then why must the moon goddess give him many problems?
He hadn’t even relaxed his nerves before he got caught up in another problem.
A problem he was sure might destroy his life if not handled carefully. All he hoped was that DeLorna would forgive him till he would be able to find the culprit.
All this while his mind didn’t go to his sister as he trusted his sister so much.
Seeing he couldn’t get something good out of his thoughts he closed his eyes to rest a little.
He was seriously hurt and needed to rest. The injury in his heart might be one that would never heal and he was sure of it.

(TWO DAYS LATER)
It’s been two days now since Jefferson saw DeLorna last. These two days without DeLorna had felt like hell to him.
It was even harder to endure than the war. Each day he felt as if his heart was being torn into a thousand pieces.
He missed her face, her smile, her words, her mischief, and other things he loved about her.
He was sure that once DeLorna lives his life he wouldn’t be able to find another woman who would be able to replace DeLorna in his heart.
The space DeLorna took in his heart was great and he knew it.
The past two days felt as if he was on another planet and he found it hard to survive there.
All he could do was hope that DeLorna would come back to him.
He knew it would not be easy for DeLorna to forgive him all he hoped was that she would find a place in her heart and forgive him.
He knew he had hurt her badly. He knew the injury he had in his heart would be minor compared to the one that would be in DeLorna’s heart and he was sure of it.
How could he ever mend it if she didn’t forgive him?
If he wanted to help nurse the injury he created she had to forgive him first or else all his attempts to help nurse the injury would end up making the injury even more severe.
All he could hope was that she would look for a place in her injured heart and forgive him.
Once she did that he would be able to help nurse the injury he created and it would heal fast.
Since it had been two days now he was sure that she would have calmed down and wouldn’t be too angry with him.
Well, there was something he had to do. He was sure DeLorna wouldn’t come back to him in about a month if he didn’t do that.
He had to use mind control on her so she would come to his room.
But what Jefferson didn’t know was that because of what happened DeLorna’s mind had become as hard as steel and he would have a hard time penetrating her mind.
Also, he didn’t know that if he succeed he wouldn’t be able to last much controlling her.
She was now his mate so she had part of his powers though she was still a human she could easily defeat some of the weaker Lycans and wolves.
If Jefferson was in his right senses he would have remembered all these details but he wasn’t so he didn’t remember and just made up his to mind control DeLorna that night.
