Jefferson went out of prison after killing the man. He felt as if he was relieved of a huge burden. Blood was dripping from his fingers slowly as he raised his head glancing at the sky. Everywhere was quiet as only the chirping of cricket and the dripping of blood could be heard.
Due to his super hearing, he could hear distant voices of what was happening in each house in the pack but that wasn’t his concern at the moment.
Right now he wanted nothing more but to end the matters with the wolves and live a peaceful life with his mate. Have children and watch them grow while spending his old age in blissfulness. He vowed he was going to finish everything as quickly as he could so he could live the life he wanted with his mate. But what he knew not was that fate didn’t always plan as one wished.
“Jeff, what are you thinking about? You’ve been standing there for over five minutes.”
A voice said behind Jefferson and he turned around only to see his sister walk towards him slowly with a smile on her face.
“Sis, after everything I want to settle down with my mate and have children,” Jefferson sighed facing Abigail.
Abigail who had come out of her room as she was feeling rather uncomfortable with the atmosphere was shocked when she heard her brother’s words and a glint of light flashed through her eyes and her murderous intent before it suddenly disappeared.
She knew he had come to finish off the man who had tried to assassinate her. She knew he didn’t want to do it in front of his mate and had pretended to send the man to prison.
Abigail nodded and didn’t say anything. She could see that Jefferson was in a rather good mood and didn’t want to spoil his mood.
“Sis I’m going to the elder’s place,” Jefferson said after a long minute of silence.
“What are you going to do there?” Abigail furrowed her brows.
“I just want to tell them about this incident and nothing else,” Jefferson smiled.
“I’ll be heading back to my room. Take care of yourself,” Abigail smiled and headed in the direction of their apartment.
She wanted to spend more time with her brother but she could feel that he wanted to be alone at the moment.
Jefferson sighed as he watched his sister walking away into the distance. He didn’t know if it was his instinct or not but he could feel the hatred his sister had for his mate was great and he began to wonder what she had for her to hate his mate so much.
Earlier when he talked about living a peaceful life with his mate he could see the glint of light that suddenly flashed in his sister’s eyes and the sudden murderous intent that was suddenly released but disappeared as soon as it came from his sister.
“Sir, we’ve cleaned it up.” A voice said behind Jefferson.
“You can go back to your post,” Jefferson replied without turning back to look at the guards who spoke.
Earlier after killing the guards he had ordered the prison guards to clean up the corpse and come report to him once they were done.
After making sure they had gone Jefferson took one last sigh and disappeared. He was heading to the elder’s place.
In less than a minute he was already at the door. Opening the door he went inside the room. The room was still as dark as the night, even darker but Jefferson could see clearly.
Sitting on the empty chair he looked at the elders who were looking at him with expectant eyes. Though none of them said anything he was sure they were curious to know why he had visited this late.
“I’ve found the culprit,” Jefferson said, breaking the silence.
The atmosphere of the room suddenly became heavy with Jefferson’s words and the elders looked at him squinting their eyes trying to detect if Jefferson was lying.
Jefferson didn’t know whether to laugh or cry seeing the elder’s reactions.
“He tried to assassinate my sister so I killed him.” He continued before the elders could say anything else.
The atmosphere became heavier following his words as the elders didn’t want to believe. It was hard to believe.
“Are you trying to play tricks on us?” The chubby-looking elder frowned.
Following his words, the other elders shook their heads in agreement with his words.
“No, I’m not trying to play tricks on you. But it seems like none of you believes me,” Jefferson replied, his anger surging.
The elders frowned seeing Jefferson’s reaction. They wanted to believe what he was saying as he had never lied to them before and anything he said was the absolute truth and he would never lie but a part of them didn’t want to believe him.
Seeing the elder’s face Jefferson sighed and stood up from the chair heading to the door.
He was afraid that if he stayed any longer he might not be able to control his anger anymore and do some things he might not like.
He hated when someone took him to be a liar especially when he was telling the truth.
“Where are you going?” The long-nosed elder frowned.
“I’ve got other places to be. Since you wouldn’t believe me I think it would be best if I just leave,” Jefferson replied walking to the door.
“You shouldn’t go. Sit and tell us the details of what happened.” The female amongst the elders said, making Jefferson stop in his tracks.
“Am sorry but I’ll do that another time. I need to be somewhere right now.” Jefferson replied and opened the door going out of the room.
Immediately silence descended on the whole room and the elders looked at themselves with confusion. They had known Jefferson since he was a little boy and knew he wouldn’t lie to them but what made him mad at them was what they couldn’t understand.
“Do you think he’s going to come back?” The female amongst the elders frowned.
“I think he’s going to be back. He’s just mad at us for doubting him at first.” The chubby-looking elder replied.
The others shook their heads slightly hearing what the chubby-looking elder said before the place descended into silence, one of the elders saying anything that only the chirping of crickets could be heard and other sounds that could be heard at night. It was as if no one was in the room at the moment.

Jefferson looked at the sky admiring the moon and the stars and how beautiful the moon looked at the moment.
He was having random thoughts at the moment and found it hard to concentrate on a thought.
He knew his life had changed significantly ever since he met his mate and was very happy about it. Though he had marked his mate they hadn’t mated yet. He wanted to take everything slowly and didn’t want to rush it.
Pushing all these thoughts to the back of his mind he sighed and looked at the horizon before disappearing.

Some minutes later Jefferson appeared at the front of a building. After making sure he had locked all his emotions he pushed the door and entered the house.
Inside were the four other pack leaders.
Jefferson had already contacted them that they should meet at their meeting place that night as he was ready to wage a war on the wolves that had crossed the boundary.
The four pack leaders couldn’t believe their ears. They only speculated what would happen and it had turned into a reality. It seemed the moon goddess was on their side.
So they rushed to the place they used to have their meeting waiting for Jefferson to come.
The wolves had been getting on their nerves lately and it was time they knew their place.
Jefferson sat on the empty chair and looked at the four leaders with a smile on his face.
“As you’ve guessed my pack was attacked by the wolves,” Jefferson started looking into their eyes.
Hearing Jefferson’s words the pack leader’s eyes widened in shock.
“And as of such I’ve decided to go on an all-out war with the wolves,” Jefferson continued before any of them could say anything.
“I hope you’re willing to help me wage the war so we’ll be victorious against the wolves. You know their numbers exceed ours,” Jefferson concluded looking into their eyes and waiting for their reply.
“I hope there weren’t many casualties?” The chubby-looking man amongst the pack leader frowned.
“About that, there weren’t many casualties except for the guards who died at the gate before I got to the pack and the pack members who were injured by the wolves while trying to protect my mate,” Jefferson replied.
“So what do you need us to do?” The tall muscular pack leader smiled.
“We need to plan our attack as we can’t just attack them randomly. I’m sure they would have already heard of my plan to attack and would also be planning on how to defend,” Jefferson said as he put his hands on his chin.
The four leaders nodded their heads looking at Jefferson who was deep in his thoughts.
“There are two things,” Jefferson continued.
“We can’t take all of our soldiers to the war as we don’t know what the wolves might plan. They might want to use us as a distraction while they attack our members we left at the pack with no protection.”
Though Jefferson wasn’t really worried about this point as he had his sister and the elders who would be at the pack and was sure they would be able to defend the pack should any unforeseen danger happen.
But he had to consider the four. He knew they might have ways of protecting their pack members; they might suffer many casualties if he acted the wrong way.
“So you are only to bring one-third of your soldiers to the war and leave the remaining to guard the pack,” Jefferson continued after a long minute of silence.
“Are you sure we’ll be able to defeat them with just one-third of our soldiers?” The man clad in white frowned looking at Jefferson.
“I think it’s okay. We’ll also participate. Also, I don’t want us to incur much loss that’s why I suggested that number,” Jefferson replied.
“I agree with you.” The tall muscular man said and the remaining three nodded in agreement.
“So what’s the plan?” He continued.
For the next two to three hours Jefferson spent the time explaining his plan to the four of them and the attack strategy he was going to use.
Alongside he was forced to change some of his ideas as they didn’t suit the pack leaders and would cost them quite a lot if he were to forcefully so he had to find a way to amend his plans to suit them.
After three long hours of planning and replanning, they finally agreed on a method they would adopt to attack the wolves.
Jefferson sighed and stood up from the chair. “I’ll be heading back to my pack. We’ll be attacking in the next three days. You should prepare yourselves and your soldiers.” He said walking out of the building.
The four pack leaders also sighed and stood up from their seats and walked out of the building alongside Jefferson.
“I’ll be going back first.” The chubby-looking man said and disappeared.
“I’ll be going next.” The tall muscular man amongst them said and also disappeared.
“We’ll be going next.” The man clad in blue said and disappeared along with the man clad in blue.
Jefferson signed after the three-four leaders left. He could see some light rays far away meaning dawn would be here anytime soon.
He had to return to the pack as he was afraid of DeLorna waking up and not seeing him.
Pushing these thoughts to the back of his mind he disappeared going in the direction of the pack.
