Soon a fierce fight was ignited between the two figures.
The lycanthrope seemed to have the upper hand and was trashing the creature.
Suddenly Jefferson in his lycanthrope form made a mistake and the creature used the opportunity to grab him by his neck, throwing him away.
The creature didn’t leave a breathing chance for Jefferson and disappeared toward him. Lifting him with a hand he threw him over again after raining some punches on him.
DeLorna watched on in horror as this happened. She wanted to help but she was too weak to do so. There was no strength in her body.
When she tried to stand up the pain would come back and cruise through her body and the headache would suddenly come back again.
She could only watch as the creature trashed Jefferson.
Suddenly the creature grabbed Jefferson and threw him across the distance.
DeLorna watched in horror as the lycanthrope flew across the distance.
What made her cringe was that there was a harp pole right where he was going to land. She wanted to stand up but she couldn’t. Each time she tried she would fall back.
She could only watch as Jefferson was impaled by the pole.
Immediately after Jefferson was impaled by the pole he changed back to his human form and coughed blood.
Looking at DeLorna he smiled slightly before giving up the ghost.
“Time to end this.” The figure growled and appeared before DeLorna and grabbed her neck.
DeLorna didn’t struggle as she knew it was useless.
“Good, it’s going to be quick and painless.” The figure growled and thrust its claws into DeLorna’s heart.
**”
“Ahhhh!
DeLorna screamed as she woke up with a start. Her breathing was rapid as she subconsciously touched her chest. Tears flowed down her face involuntarily as she thought of the dream.
Everything felt so real for a moment she thought she was dead. The look on her mother’s face, the look on her mate’s face, and everything were so real that she couldn’t believe her eyes. But what could be the cause of the bad dream she had?
Pushing these thoughts aside DeLorna raised her head and looked at her surroundings. Immediately she frowned as she noticed she was in an unfamiliar place.
Suddenly a splitting headache overtook her as the incident that happened last rushed into her head.
She remembered the last thing she was Jefferson holding her in his arms naked with a smile on his face.
She couldn’t understand why he hadn’t helped her when she could still hold on but decided to wait till she almost passed out. His behaviour at that moment was strange.
Also what was the meaning of his last statement before she lost consciousness? She remembered he had said, “congratulations you passed.” What was the meaning of his words? She didn’t remember going through a kind of test. Then why would he say that?
Looking around the room she could tell she was in Jefferson’s room. But where in hell was Jefferson? Where in the hell did he go? He just left her all alone in his room.
Suddenly she remembered the dream again and immediately a guilty conscience caught her and she didn’t know what to do.
She didn’t say a proper goodbye to her mother before she left. She knew her mother must be missing her dearly. She knew the dream she had was just a coincidence to remind her to give her final piety to her mother.
She was sure her mother would be missing her dearly. Also, she was missing her and wanted to go back home to apologize to her.
If not for the fact that her mother had flared up when she wanted to explain the situation to her she would have taken time to explain to her but her mother was a bit impatient and didn’t listen to her explanation so she too had decided not to tell her.
Right now she felt the urgency to go back home with Jefferson and explain everything to her. All she hoped was that her mother would be willing to listen to her.
DeLorna started thinking of a way to contact Jefferson. She had to go back home as soon as possible.
“Maybe I should mind-link him,” DeLorna muttered.
Thinking of this she sat crossed-legged on the bed and focused on connecting to Jefferson.
After about a minute or two of trying and falling DeLorna was finally able to feel the connection between her and Jefferson.
Though it was weak she could feel it. Concentrating more she could feel it was becoming stronger and stronger until an image started forming in her mind and she had a clearer description of where Jefferson was.
***
Jefferson was in a place not too far from the pack with other people discussing how to ward off the hunters who had been terrorizing them and had even killed some of their kinds.
Suddenly Jefferson felt someone trying to mind link him. At first, he thought it was Abigail but then he noticed that that mind link was weak and also fluctuating.
Immediately he smiled as he realized it was DeLorna. He guessed she must have woken up and noticed that he wasn’t in the room.
He wondered what was making her mind link him and didn’t wait till he was back.
He smiled as he noticed the mind link was getting stronger and stronger until he could see her clearly in his mind.
“Why are you in such a rush to talk to me? Am I in a meeting over here?” Jefferson smiled as he said through the mind link.
DeLorna, who was thinking of what to say, suddenly heard Jefferson’s voice in her sea of consciousness.
“There’s an important matter I want to tell you.” She replied.
“Say it,” Jefferson smiled.
“I want to go home,” DeLorna replied.
“Go home?” Jefferson frowned.
He wondered what the sudden reason for her decision was. She hadn’t spent even a day at the pack and was thinking of going home. Was she homesick?
“I’ll be back soon. We’ll talk about that then,” Jefferson replied and cut off the mind link. He noticed that the others present were looking at him strangely as they couldn’t understand what he was doing.
DeLorna was shocked as Jefferson suddenly cut off the mind link. Immediately she tried to connect it back but to no avail, it wasn’t working, or rather she didn’t get it.
“So you’re the human who called herself my brother’s mate. How weak and pathetic.”
DeLorna suddenly heard a voice as a figure entered the room.
“Who are you?” DeLorna drowned.
“You are so dumb you don’t realize who I am, from what I just said.” The figure replied walking closer to DeLorna.
