“What is it?” Kiara asked.
She knew what Alexia was looking for.
“He did not mark you, did he?” Alexia asked.
“He did,” Kiara answered.
Alexia gasped. Kiara was happy to see the look in her mother’s eyes. Shock, disappointment.
“Who is this person, Kiara?” Alexia asked.
“An Angel,” Kiara responded again.
Alexia went silent. She could not believe that an Angel had captured her daughter and marked her.
“I need my rulership back,” Kiara stated.
“You can not have it, Kiara. I thought I was going to become a lycan after mating with Lucian and that is the only reason I gave you rulership over the packs.” Alexia explained.
She hoped the girl will not be too hurt. But she had to maintain rulership, her status and her respect she still had to be Alexia, the Alpha female, ruler of the four werewolf packs and Queen of the lycan clan. She looked into Kiara’s eyes to see any emotions but the girl had a straight face, emotionless.
“You will also be going to the gammas soon to continue with the training.” Alexia continued.
She hated to part with Kiara again but the girl had to train. She had to learn to be a strong independent woman and a fierce Alpha female. Kiara stood up.
“I shall not go to the Gammas anymore,” Kiara said.
Her voice was firm and final. Alexia stood up too, surprised. The girl had never objected to anything she instructed.
“You shall Kiara. You must learn to be a strong and fierce Alpha female.” Alexia spoke.
“What if I do not want to be a strong and fierce Alpha female? What if I want a simple life with a mate and a child? Would you not respect that?’ Kiara asked.
She tried so hard to bottle up her emotions but she could not. Her voice was shaky. Her mother was becoming too controlling of her own life and she hated it. Tears streamed from her eyes and she was hoping that her mother had a heart and would see how hurt she was. Alexia came closer to the girl and dropped her hands on the girl’s shoulders. Both mother and daughter stared into each other’s silver eyes.
“You are not born for simplicity my girl. You are born for power, rulership and fame. You were not born to bow to people but I gave birth to you so people can bow to you, and to you, they shall bow.” Alexia told her.
Kiara’s silver eyes were glittering with tears in them.
“Is that all that matters to you? Fame, power, respect. My happiness does not matter to you?” Kiara asked again.
Alexia sighed. This was the fault of that Angel mate of hers, if only he did not take her to brainwash her then, Kiara would still be the obedient daughter she had.
“Your happiness is succeeding after me,” Alexia said gently.
Kiara did not speak again. She sat back on the bed.
“Cheer up daughter,” Alexia said and sat on the bed with Kiara.
“I will not go to the gammas your Majesty,” Kiara said.
Alexia stood up. Kiara was beginning to infuriate her.
“If it means dragging you there, I will,” Alexia spoke loudly.
She turned around and walked away when she got to the door.
“Maybe, just maybe your sister would have understood more,” Alexia said.
She opened the door and left the room. Kiara lay on the bed, crying. She had to do something about her mother’s domineering.

She was standing in the dark space again. She looked down and the pit was there, the woman in it. The woman was sitting in her usual position, face in her palms. Kiara bent down quickly.
“Louisa!!” She called out to the woman.
Louisa stood up.
“Why have you come child?” The woman asked.
“I need your help, Louisa,” Kiara said.
“Say it.” The woman said
She said it. She told the woman everything she wanted.
“You will have to come down here if you want that. I must surface for that to happen.” The woman finally spoke when Kiara was done.
“Okay. I will do it.” Kiara said, firmly.
Both women did not speak. Kiara wanted to ask the woman how she always came about in that place and how she got back but she did not. She just stood there, waiting to wake up.

And she woke up. Her eyes opened up and she sat up, she looked around and she was in her room in the werewolf’s territory. She sighed. She suddenly felt lonely, she was missing Mark. She was missing the weight of his big hands on her body, she was missing waking up every morning to stare at his handsome face. She got out of bed and went into the bathroom. She took her bath and went into the closet and when she came out, she was wearing a black flowing dress. She tied her hair up in a bun too.
Today was going to be a big day, she was going to be free at last. Free from her. A knock came on the door. She told the person to come in, it was an omega.
“Your mother requests for your presence in the dining room.” The omega said.
“Tell her I will be right there soon.” She said.
And she was. She came to the dining room. Her mother sat at the head chair, she was also wearing a black flowing dress and her hair tied up in a bun just like Kiara. Kiara saw a group of men too, they were sitting at the table too. They were five. They were gammas. She knew her mother was serious about dragging her to the gammas, that was what the men were there for.
When Alexia saw her, she smiled at Kiara. She was glad to see the girl in the attire. She looked just like Alexia. A younger version. Kiara walked to the empty seat beside her mother, that was her place, beside her mother. She sat down and they started eating. They ate in silence.
When they finally finished their meal, Kiara spoke. This was her moment. She turned to Alexia.
“Can we talk? In private.” Kiara asked, looking at Alexia.
Alexia did not speak, she stood up and Kiara stood up too. Alexia led the way and they walked to the ballroom. The room was large and empty and as soon as they got inside, Kiara stood quietly. She could feel herself going deep into a dark abyss. She saw the woman on her way to the pit. She had wings and instead of rising, the woman was flying out of the pit.
Alexia turned around to Kiara when they got into the ballroom and she saw the girl standing there, quietly. Alexia could see her eyes changing to a deep shade of black and then golden. It stopped changing when it got to a golden colour. Then Alexia could see the things coming out of Kiara’s back and she gasped. Wings. That was not Kiara.
“Kiara!!” Alexia called the girl, alarmed.
In a split second, the winged and golden eyes Kiara grabbed her by her throat. Alexia was strong, she was an Alpha female. But this Kiara was stronger and Alexia could only shake and struggle to free herself from the grip. Kiara pushed her to the wall and a light started emitting from the girl’s body, a really bright light. It was getting to Alexia and went it slowly engulfed Alexia, she felt choked. The light was squeezing the life out of Alexia.
Alexia was not weak, she reached back to Hertha but she could not feel the presence of the wolf. The wolf was dead, and strong Hertha was choked to death before even Alexia. Alexia wanted to reach out to the lycan but the darkness she was fighting off so hard finally engulfed her. She breathed her last and Kiara let go. Alexia fell to the floor with a thud.
Lifeless.
