She wept bitterly. She cried because she was a bad mother and she knew it. She cried because she had the chance to bond with her daughter but she did not instead, she sent the girl to know how to fight. Now she was helpless, she did not know what to do. What would she do if she loses Kiara, Gladys was still fresh in her memory. She cried and cried and when she could cry no more, she slept off.
Early the next morning, both Alexia and Amanda headed to the fairies’ territory. They arrived at dusk as usual and Alexia could see the light in the sky. They had gone for bonding, it got Alexia worried that the fairy queen had not gone to the bond too. The two women got to the fairy queen’s house and a servant told them the woman was inside. Alexia sighed in relief. The woman came down to meet them after a while and they hugged and exchanged pleasantries. Amanda did not waste any more time.
“Alexia here has a problem,” Amanda explained.
The fairy queen turned to Alexia. Alexia nodded.
“I need to find my daughter. She has been missing for quite some time now.” Alexia spoke too.
The fairy queen looked from Amanda to Alexia. She hesitated but she finally spoke.
“I don’t know where your daughter is. Strangely, I did not see her in my visions.” Harriet spoke.
“I got to see where she was but I was bounced too. It was so strong that I loosed a lot of strength.” Amanda spoke to Harriet.
Harriet knotted her brows.
“That’s strange. If you and I can’t see her then where could she be?” Harriet spoke.
Alexia could hear their conversation and her heart reached out to her daughter. Where could her child be? Who could be keeping her child? A lot of thoughts filled her head and she spaced out. Amanda wrapped an arm around Alexia’s shoulder, bringing her back to consciousness. Amanda took Alexia’s hand and led her to her room. She helped Alexia to bed and tucked her under the sheets. The woman looked too tired.
“Get some sleep. We will leave soon.” Amanda said and left the room.
Alexia could not get some sleep. She stayed up all night. The nightmare hunted her each time she closed her eyes. She would see herself in that dark room with Kiara and she would see Kiara’s head rolling on the ground. Her screams filled her head, she would wake up, panting heavily. It continued and Alexia ended up staying awake till the next morning when Amanda came into her room.
Amanda came into her room to wake her up so they can be heading back but she was already awake. She never slept. Amanda was surprised the woman was up so early but regardless, they started their journey back to the witches’ territory and Alexia continued hers to the Lycans clan. She arrived at the lycan clan after several days and she went straight to freshen up and sleep.
She was on the bed but could not sleep and after a long while, she could hear the door open and she sat up. It was Lucian. He was not in the palace when she arrived and she understood it was normal. He was a ruler and had a lot to do. Lucian’s face was filled with joy when he saw Alexia. He had missed everything about her. They did not speak to each other, they just stared into each other’s eyes. It was their own little way of saying unspoken words. They were in that position for a long time when she started tearing up. He saw her silver eyes glitter up with tears and he walked over to her, he sat down on the bed and pulled her in for a tight, long hug. She teared up even more.
“I did not find her. I did not find my baby.” She was managing to talk in between her sobs.
He hated to see her like this. He was extremely hurt. They stayed in each other’s arms for a long while and Lucian disengaged from the hug. He went to take his bath and when he was done, he joined her on the bed. He wrapped his big arms around her body in comfort. They slept that way that night.
*** KIARA’S P. O. V ***
Her mother had left to be with her mate after handing over the packs to her. Kiara was glad she was now the ruler of the packs. All her life, Alexia and the gammas had trained her to be a perfect Alpha female. A woman with strength and courage, a fierce ruler. And she hated her mother for it. It was not what she wanted, she wanted to be a simple werewolf, to find her mate and have a family, a happy little family. But no, her mother wanted more, she wanted a ruler, a powerful Alpha female who no one dared to go against. And now she was there, the powerful, Almighty Alpha female. She was going to rule like one.
That night, the night she had found herself in a strange room and even stranger creatures. That night was like any other night. She had retired to bed after a late-night meeting with the eastern pack Betas. She was getting to know about the packs. She went to freshen up and she did. After her bath, she wore a night robe and climbed onto the bed and slept off. That was all she could remember, sleeping off in her room.
When she woke up the next morning, the sun’s rays were brighter and they were penetrating the window into her eyes. She woke up and cursed a little and when she opened her eyes, she was startled. She was in a room that was not hers. A strange room. She looked around and the room was spacious and rich. Everything was made of gold, even the doors.
