“The Lycans are going against my father and they want war.” He sounded frustrated and completely exhausted.
“I know.” Lucian stopped. He turned to Marcus swiftly.
“And you are just telling me now? We are supposed to be friends.” Lucian’s voice carried disappointment. Why would Marcus know something as crucial as the war and hide it away from him?
“It wasn’t in my place to tell you. You would have certainly gone telling your father and the council didn’t want that. I’m sorry but I had to shut up.” Marcus’s voice was pleading.
Lucian continued his walk and Marcus followed him. It was another long silence. Lucian was angry.
“Tell me you didn’t know they want me to kill my father.” Lucian broke the silence again. But Marcus didn’t respond.
“I knew about that too.” Marcus finally responded and Lucian gasped at him. He looked at his friend unbelievably and started walking away. Marcus followed. He was walking so fast that Marcus had to run to catch up with him.
“I’m sorry Lucian.” Marcus apologized when he finally caught up with Lucian. Lucian didn’t respond, he just continued walking away faster. Marcus gave up and stopped running after the man. He stood on the road, frustrated. He didn’t know what to do.
Lucian walked back to the palace and he met his mother at the door. She looked at him and knew that there was something up, he was angry. She walked up to him to ask him what was wrong but he walked past her in anger. He went into his room and lay on the bed. He was tired, the night had been long.
Despite the fact that he was tired, he stood up and went to freshen up. He freshened up and went back to his bed and took out Alexia’s hair pins from under his pillow, he sniffed it and her scent filled his nostrils. He thought about her.
He would go to her the next day and seek her advice. Her thoughts filled his head as he slept away.
He woke up the next day and prepared to go to the werewolf’s territory. He was going to seek Alexia’s advice. He was still very angry about what Marcus did, he knew everything but could not tell him. Lucian was extremely angry. He didn’t speak to anyone else, he just prepared and ran into the woods.
When he arrived at the werewolf’s territory, as usual, Alexia wasn’t at home. She had gone for an important business at the west pack and would not be back till the next day. He was shown to his room. The werewolves were already getting used to his presence. Even without Alexia, they welcomed him warmly. Maybe it was because he was a Lycan. He freshened up and asked for his dinner in his room.
Back at the lycan clan, Marcus woke up early the next morning and went to the palace. He had to apologize to Lucian. They were friends and should tell each other everything. Marcus was beginning to feel worse. He felt like the worst friend, first, it was during his mating with Zendaya and now it was the war. He arrived at the palace and meet the queen.
They exchanged pleasantries and he asked if Lucian was in the palace but he was not. The lycan queen asked if there was a problem, and he said there was. He told the queen that they have been fighting for no good reason, there was nothing for her to worry about. He bade her farewell and left.
Alexia came back to the southern territory the next day and she was told that the lycan prince was there. She went to his room and knocked several times and she got no response. She opened the door and went in, he was lying on the bed, asleep. She came closer to him on the bed and she could see his handsome features. He was extremely, his thick dark eyelashes, his perfectly shaped pink little lips and his sharp jaw bone. She couldn’t help but stare. She eventually left the room with him still sleeping.
In the evening, Lucian woke up. He stood up from his bed and he could perceive her smell in the room He wondered if she was there. He lazily went to the window and opened the blinds. It was dark already, time for dinner. He quickly took a shower and prepared and came down for dinner. When he got to the dining hall, she was already sitting there, in her usual spot. She was wearing a black flowing gown, its sleeves long to her wrist. Her hair was, as usual, tied behind her back into a bun.
She smiled at him the moment he walked in and he smiled back. Though they did not speak, their eyes carried their words to each other. He sat next to her and they started eating. They ate in silence.
“I would like to speak to you in private Alexia.”
Lucian spoke up when dinner was over. Alexia did not object and she rose to leave and Lucian followed her. She got into her room and Lucian did too, locking the door behind him. She went over to the window and opened it. The breeze came gushing on her face and she liked it. She loved the breeze. Lucian stood at the door for some time before coming to sit on the bed. He had his eyes on her back and she could feel them. They were in that position for a long time and the room was silent, one would hear a pin drop.
“There’s going to be a war at the clan.” He finally broke the silence. She didn’t turn around.
“Why? I thought you, Lycans don’t fight each other.” She responded. He buried his face in his hands and groaned. He was confused.
“My father is a tyrant and the Lycans want to protest against him. They want war.”
