Phobos does not talk much merely nodding every once and then or responding with a few curt words. Yet I notice it, Phobos’s prime distraction.
His ocean blues keep glimpsing at Theia who prances around playing with my male, he observes her every smile her every laugh. His eyes capture her entirety engraving her antics in secret. I find her neck bare of his mark and understanding comes into light. I was in the same situation once so it is easy for me to find what is hidden from others.
“I think he wishes to come to me now, let him go Cronus!” Theia has her hands plunged delicately beneath Kal’s underarms as she struggles to take him from her brother’s grasp.
“Cronus, I wish to talk to Theia alone,” Standing on my tiptoes I whisper into his ear as he turns to me the playfulness leaving whilst seriousness surges forward. He asks no questions as he offers me a curt nod of understanding whilst passing Kal onto Theia’s awaiting hands.
He leaves immediately joining Deimos and Phobos giving Theia and me the privacy I wished. “Oh Goddess, he is wonderful.” Theia coos nudging her nose onto his plump cheek taking in his scent and allowing him to do the same.
“Theia.”
“Yes?” She questions peeking up at me with vivid blues, I can see she adores pups.
“Why has he not marked you yet?”
My question catches her off guard whilst her smile is brisk to vanish a sudden dullness blooms within her as she meekly takes a peek at her male. There is a gut-wrenching sadness her eyes hold as she regards him, he has placed her in misery.
“He does not want me.” That is all she says, a strike of her truth shows me the raw void of her soul. A sharp intake of breath is pulled in by me to what she said. She sways my male casually as he places his cheek against her chest sucking on his thumb approving of the way she feels.
“He is your male.” I offer her my soothing words aimed to comfort her. I frown with confusion, what could be the reason he does not wish to claim her? Does he not know how to love either? As she meets my eyes with her aching ones that seem to hold simmering sorrow beneath them, her truth intensifies. “You haven’t told him.”
“I haven’t. His assumptions are many, too many for me to straighten.”
“You must tell him, Theia. Yet despite it all, you love him.” One would be blind if they are unable to see how she beholds her male, her eyes speak volumes.
“Selflessly. Wholly. Unfathomably.” She smiles a smile that does not reach her eyes. “It is not merely his assumptions I must deal with. There is someone else among others whom he holds dear to him. I cannot compete.”
“Oh, Theia.” I place my palm upon her shoulder partaking in her distress.
“No, I deserve this for this is the moon’s retribution for what I had done to you.”
“Know this he holds half your soul, I know of the sadness I lived through it for several years I do not wish it on any female to go through,” I tell her feebly seeking to ease her guilt. I know the reasons for her past actions, I do not agree with but I do not condemn them either for I understand.
“Phobos is not like Deimos, Lumina. You cannot reason with him, he possesses no emotions his wolf is always at bay. And me being younger and inexperienced in several ways wills me with a feeling of insecurity that leaves me breathless.”
“Has he held you? Have you mated?” There is no shame for females to speak of this, it is a natural topic a way to aid the other’s relationship.
She scoffs as though I had asked her a hilarious question. “In my dreams, yes. He finds no yearning for it. He finds me distasteful.” Tears well in her eyes as she pours her virgin bleeding truth to me, her punishment has befallen her with fierce wrath.
“You know that is not true, he cannot resist you. I can see it how can you not?”
“What you see is not genuine. It is an illusion he manifests, he is a master of disguise. His sincere emotions can never be seen in light, I have understood this since I was a pup.” She says patting my male’s back gently swallowing down her tears wishing to not delve deep into this for she would drown.
“His pack, do they adore you as mine does?” I question.
“It is a mixture, I need to fight for my seat at his table. Whatever he does to me, I cannot stop my heart that beats only for him. Sometimes I wish to return home to my mother, other times I wish to stay firm and remain by his side. It is a constant war between us and I am always left bleeding. But I deserve thi-”
“No you do not deserve this, no female does. Your sins are not many, Theia. They are ones he can forgive.” She chuckles, such a depressing sight to see as tears stream down her pale cheeks the playfulness dying. She quickly wipes them away with the back of her palm not wishing to show her weakness.
“Lumina!” My male beckons me shattering our cloud of comfort whilst we turn together answering his excited voice. “Come here, my female. Bring Kal.”
I meekly peek back at Theia as she offers me a curt nod carried with a mild smile showing me that she is all right. Whilst we walk towards the males I get a brisk glimpse at Phobos who has his eyes glued to his female’s nearing heat, his eyes take in my male who rests happily upon her hip.
Deimos encloses his arm around my waist hauling me to his flesh whilst leaning down to whisper in my ear. “Phobos wished to see him.”
“Theia why don’t you hand over Kal to your male?” I tell her as her eyes widen visibly to my words. No emotion strikes at her mate as he merely stands there inspecting the little pup in her arms. He conceals his emotions quite well, I am truly astonished by his mastery. Certainly what I just said must have shaken him underneath.
She swallows taking poised deliberate steps towards her male, teeth sink into her lower lip as she hoists Kal gently passing him to his uncle. Ocean blues sharpen and dilate to feast on her flesh lingering on her plump lips, how can she see his desire or the way he regards her if her eyes are always elsewhere?
