Nine Months – Part II

Book:DEIMOS (Alpha of Alphas) Published:2024-6-2

“The females will be so happy about this. We must celebrate our way, Alpha.” Elriam utters.
“I wish to but Deimos said we cannot leave yet. Giovanni’s training is yet to complete.” I give her a soft smile.
“We must inform them at least.” Elriam whispers.
“There is no rush. We can take our time.” I reply to her. I just heard the news today, I don’t want it to become the center of all talks between wolves. I wish to give it some time.
My male enters swiftly after his quick call, holding a wide smile upon his face that lights up the entire room. He cannot hide his joy he wishes to show his pride to every wolf.
“I would like to take you somewhere, Lumina.” He says. His sudden remark has me frowning in confusion. All of a sudden? We just got here. But I can go wherever, the healer’s medicine had calmed my nausea quickly. I should have come here earlier.
“Come.” He says opening up his palm for me to take. I look towards Elriam. She nods softly with a smile upon her face leaving us.
“Where?” I question as he guides me out to the parked car. Steps urgent with a slight bounce to his feet. He cannot wait to get there.
“To a place that holds meaning.” Is the answer he gives me. There is no driver to take us, Deimos drives us there. Just the two of us.
The drive to the destination is a peaceful one with soft music playing and Deimos tapping his fingers upon the steering wheel with urgency. His eyes forward never wavering. His heart is beating with an anxious rhythm.
First, he was excited now he is nervous? What awaits us? Curiosity seeps forward and I can’t help but combine my emotions with his, my heartbeat matches his pace.
He drives us into a secluded area, a land bare of any traces of life. It possesses no houses, no roads just a tall silver gate with sharp spikes on top prohibiting forced entry. Vines have grown to wrap around the poles of the gate the color rubbed off giving it an old and rusty look.
“Come.” Is all he says grabbing my hand. Shifting his hand in his pocket he extracts a small key. Thrusting the key into the hole he unlocks the silver gate that opens with a large painful groan. This place has been unvisited for years.
Entering into the vast land my eyes find a stony path leading forward engulfed with trees on both sides. I cannot see anything further than that the sight hidden by the thick green bushes.
“We have to walk for a bit.” He whispers.
“What meaning does that place hold that you had to bring me here immediately?” I question keeping my eyes forward inhaling the fresh air trapping it within my lungs.
“I will tell you when we reach there.” He replies. He knows his path guiding us with confidence showing me he has been here several times.
“How many times have you come here?” I question clutching his hand tighter pulling him to me. He stumbles to my sudden action quickly regaining balance.
His arm comes over my shoulder bringing me closer to him as I wished. “Twice. I needed to come here twice.”
“Why?” I ask.
“To learn.” He answers.
“Learn what? I don’t understand.” I say confused as to where he is coming from. He gives me short frank answers without explanations. Patience he says is a trait I don’t possess, my curious mind always a problem.
“We are almost there, Lumina. You will have your answers.” He whispers with a soft smile as he gazes down at me.
With a soft sigh leaving my lips I walk within his hold following his pace my curiosity simmering but waiting. The only sounds I hear are the soft crunches of our feet upon the stone path. The cold silent path slowly disappears replaced by one filled with beauty and color decorated with all kinds of flowers.
My eyes widen as I look at the sight. I immediately leave his side and rush towards the area. Beautiful. From the view to the smell drowning me within its deep rich fragrances.
“I have wolves who come here every day to take care of the land.” He speaks, his breath fanning my neck. Hair rises as soft tingles vibrate through my flesh to his sudden closeness. Hands wrap around my waist bringing me to his chest.
Thrusting his nose into my neck he nuzzles taking in my new scent lips placing a soft kiss upon my mark breathing into it life. “Do you like it?” He questions.
“Yes, it’s beautiful. Who chose the types? Who even possessed the seeds for these kinds?” I question my love for gardening perking up. These flowers are very hard to find back at our pack, perhaps it is found here easily.
“My mother. She bartered with packs all around the world to get these. She shares the love for gardening just like you.” He whispers his chin placed upon my right shoulder. Every time he talks about his mother the more my want to meet her arises. She seems like a gentle wolf who might have accepted me with open arms.
“I would love to meet her.” I utter eyes scanning through the different colored petals.
“You can, I will take you to her. She is probably really angry at me that I still haven’t officially introduced you to her after all these years. If I was still a pup I would be in timeout at the bad pup corner as she called it.” He chuckles with a shake of his head reminiscing on his fond memories.
“Bad pup corner?” I ask raising my eyebrow in question.
“Yes. I had to turn my back to her and stand facing the wall for about an hour or more.” He says speaking of her punishment.
“And how many times were you in timeout?” I ask.
“Too many to count. What can I say, I was a bad wolf. I still am but… a different bad. A bad only my mate can see or… get.” He speaks meeting my eyes a smirk playing upon his lips.
A soft laugh erupts from my belly to his words. “You find this funny? I am serious though, my female.” He says in between my laughs as he begins to chuckle as well.
