I clear my throat softly as his eyes open and look straight towards me while his smile remains. “Mate.” He greets me as I nod in return having a smile of my own to give him. A shy smile. He walks towards me and gives me his hand to take. I put my palm softly into his warmth as he guides me to the other side of the terrace.
I look around amazed at the setup. The table is quite big and the food is kept in large amounts enough to feed a family. Flowers are surrounding the table filling the place with a wonderful scent.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? Do you not like it? I didn’t know how to do all this so I researched. I thought you might like it. If you don’t I can-.” Deimos speaks quickly his eyes moving back and forth from the table to me.
I cut him off squeezing his hand softly. “I love it. Thank you, Deimos.” I smile as he takes a deep breath. I sit down on one of the chairs as Deimos sits opposite me. No one would serve us, we would do it all. No distractions. Just us. He and me.
I look up at the sky as the cold breeze takes my attention. The puffed-up grey clouds bloated with rain join together as one. “It will rain tonight,” I say and Deimos nods serving me some food.
“Do you not like rain?” He asks me as he cuts the fruits and I shake my head.
“I love it. It’s my favourite weather.” I say and he nods.
“Mine as well. At least we have something in common.” Deimos whispers and I smile.
“What is your favourite colour?” I ask him.
“Red. Remember I made you wear a red dress to the ball.” He replies as I look at him curiously. “What’s yours?” He asks.
“I didn’t have one until recently,” I tell him as he tilts his head softly munching on his food.
“Really? Interesting.” He says softly. “So what is it now?” He questions.
“Green. Not any green. I like the green of your eyes in particular.” I reply confidently trying to hide my burning cheeks. Deimos stops munching as he stares at me as if digging into my soul.
Deimos clears his throat and I chew on my lower lip playing with my food. That took all of my courage to say. I didn’t want to embarrass myself. I watch the shake of his left hand as he clenches it and puts it upon his thigh fisting it tightly. I know the reason behind his action. He does this whenever he controls himself.
Deimos controls himself only for a few reasons and mainly holding himself back from doing something to me.
“W-What do you like to eat?” I question him trying to erase the tension building between us. If I let the tension envelop us further we would lose ourselves to the need. Deimos takes a deep breath and replies. “Meat.” His voice is husky and low as I clench my thighs tightly together.
And so we spend the rest of the day getting to know each other. Things of the surface, things you tell wolves when you first meet them. It was indeed like a….. first date. It seemed like a new beginning, a fresh start. We asked each other small things and satisfied our uncertainties.
As the sun sets and the moon and stars came out to play Elriam came to discuss my day. She was happy and excited for me. It was a huge thing that Deimos himself took the initiative and invited me for breakfast.
“So was it good, Alpha?” Elriam questions me her arms folded tightly beneath her breasts as she watches me with her curious black orbs.
“Yes. It was just like the first time you and I met.” I smile fondly at the memories flooding my mind. “Do you remember Elriam? The number of questions we asked each other?” I turn around as she responds with a chuckle.
“Of course I do. Nothing will ever replace that memory, it’s my treasure I will forever hold in my heart.” She whispers.
“We have come a long way haven’t we, Elriam?” I ask her softly as I look up at the sky.
“Yes, Alpha. Indeed we have but there is still a long way for you.” She says as I frown and look at her.
“What more?” I ask her curiously as she closes her eyes.
“My wish is to see you happy and one day I wish to hold your pups.” Elriam smiles and bows deeply as my lips quiver. This female has always supported me from within the dark hiding. She never once asked anything in return always by my side.
“And I wish for the same,” I say as I put my forehead upon hers. She’s was and will always be my strength.
After our conversation ended I take a walk away from the castle to relax. As I drift away with my thoughts as my heart is swollen with happiness and peace the sky thunders and the clouds stretch their bellies and push out all the rain they’ve been holding in all day. The rain pours down heavily beating down on the earth as I run towards the closest shelter I find.
I open the door and push myself in. Closing the door I turn around and my mouth opens wide as my eyes take in the surrounding. I seem to be in some sort of a greenhouse. I have never seen this before, I didn’t even know of this.
The greenhouse is beautiful with high ceilings and large French glass windows. The place possesses so much of nature the scent is cold and fresh as I take huge breaths filling my lungs. I stride deeper along with the pebble steps into the greenhouse touching every flower along the way astonished with the different colours and types.
I walk blindly along the path until I find another door. Upon reaching closer the sound of music drifts through my ears. Someone is playing the piano. It is a slow melody that makes my heart pick up its pace. I press my ears upon the door and listen closely. Who could it be? Is it a wolf from the pack?
The melody takes turns. Sometimes painful portraying deep sorrow and sometimes joyous. I always loved music since I was a pup especially the piano. It was the only thing that had the power to make me feel something as I could feel no emotions till a certain age.
My curiosity wins as I slowly open the door softly to have a peek and I come face to face with Deimos who startles me. I gasp and take a few steps back.
“I was going to punish the wolf who dared to disturb me,” Deimos says dressed in a loose white open shirt and black pants as a deep blush covers my cheeks like a heated blanket.
“I-I apologize. I didn’t know, I just…. took shelter from the rain and one thing led to another. I heard music.. it was so different so… I don’t know how to put this. You see as a pup I… Do you play the piano Deimos?” I am so flustered that my thoughts jumbles in my mind and I don’t even know what I am saying.
