Falling upon the bed I turn to my side looking outside the window. As the pitch back sky overtakes the light so does Deimos as he overtakes my thoughts drowning me in painful agony as my tears sing a lullaby dampening the pillow cover softly lulling me to sleep.
And so as daylight came the next day and the day after that. I stayed in Cronus’s pack as if Deimos never came. As if nothing had happened. Cronus never asked me what happened that day and nor did I tell him on my own. I don’t want to think about it.
“Luna? Are you here?” Cronus heads into the garden as he calls out to me.
“I am here, Cronus. Behind the fountain.” I call out to him my hands deep into the soil as I plant the seeds. Cronus’s garden has become my new refuge lately. He granted me the right to do whatever I wish with it and so I began my new hobby of gardening.
Covering the tiny seeds with a huge lump of soil, I wipe the sweat dripping down my face. Turning around I see Cronus smiling softly at me.
“What seeds are they this time?” He asks tilting his head to the side.
“Rose seeds. It’s has become my favourite flower. It reminds me of someone.” I say smiling fondly at the place I planted the seeds.
“And how does it do so?” Cronus asks me gently.
“You might think it’s ridiculous,” I tell him embarrassed.
“No, I will not. Tell me, Luna.” Cronus encourages me with a soft smile.
“Roses have thorns, where you bleed if you don’t hold them carefully. But go beyond the thorns you will find the most beautiful flower in the world. It’s really soft on the inside.” I tell him softly.
“I do not understand, Luna,” Cronus replies frowning.
“Deimos, he… he’s like a rose. He holds thorns to protect himself and his actions make me bleed. But he can be a good male. I know he can.” I smile as I get up and water the soil.
“You go ahead, Luna. I will keep everything back in the warehouse.” Cronus tells me as I nod my thanks and take the trail back to his house.
I stop halfway as a pup runs towards me almost crashing into me. I hold her steady saving her from falling as she giggles.
“Hey now, you need to be careful or you’ll get hurt,” I warn her softly as she nods hurriedly.
“For you. Big wolf gives me, for you.” She says as she hands me a pink rose. I frown not understanding her words. Her teeth haven’t come yet so she’s probably quite young.
“What? Big wolf? Alpha Cronus?” I ask her gently to repeat. There are no roses that grow here, I planted the first batch today. What is this pup saying?
I look back at her as she looks behind me with big eyes. “Big wolf here.” She whispers as I frown further.
Feeling the heat of a wolf behind me I turn around swiftly lifting my balled fist ready to hit but a huge hand blocks it. I come face to face with Deimos. My eyes widen and I gasp as his face is inches from mine. I can feel the warmth of his breath on my cheeks.
“Mate.” He says with a tilt of his lips. Is he smirking?
“Deim-” I begin to speak but a scream escapes my mouth as I am thrown across his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.
“Thank you, little one.” He smiles gently at the pup while ruffling her hair holding me tight with his other arm as I struggle.
“Bye-bye big wolf.” The little pup laughs and runs away as Deimos begins to walk away towards the pack gates.
“Put me down now!” I whisper harshly to Deimos who carries me without another word.
Lifting my head taking my eyes off his ass I see Cronus and the pack members smiling and waving at me.
“Come visit again, Luna,” Cronus says with a loud voice as I put my head back down to cover my burning cheeks. This is embarrassing. Never have I been carried nor disgraced like this.
Deimos drops me in the backseat of the car and gets in with me. “To our pack.” He commands the driver as the car takes off. Deimos clicks a button and the partition begins to slide up enveloping us in privacy from the driver.
“What do you think you-.” I begin to show my frustration as Deimos lifts my waist placing me upon his knees as I straddle him. A deep blush takes over my face as I look everywhere but him.
Deimos holds my hips tightly bringing me closer to his chest. He lifts my chin to look into his eyes as he puts his nose into my neck taking in my scent with deep breaths.
He whispers, “In your eyes, I am a rose yes? I want you to tell me why I am a rose again. But this time tell it to my soul.”
